Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

The Daily News slams the City Council for paying newly elected Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes $20,000 for supposedly "consulting" for the CD7 office. Though Council Members were fully prepared to turn this money over to Fuentes without even looking into the issue. However, the public blowback was enough that Council Member Alarcon took a look at the actual hours worked by Fuentes and decide a more appropriate payoff, I mean payment, was about $7500.

There may be something to the rumors about an Indian casino in CD14. Capitol Weekly reports that LA County Sheriff's deputies raided the offices of an Indian tribe seeking recognition that could eventually lead to the right to build a casino in Los Angeles. Among the items taken include a computer used by former state legislator Richard Polanco, the CEO for the tribe.

City Council is abuzz over the new Jack Weiss recall site. In the meantime, leaders of the effort to recall the Councilman claim they are being harassed and intimidated by pro-Weiss forces; they've filed a complaint with the City Ethics Commission.

Metroblogging takes the City to task for poor outreach efforts with regard to information to restoration efforts at Griffith Park.

Bill Rosendahl comes down clearly in favor of open borders.

Judging by the web site, the Weiss recall campaign is obviously getting some sophisticated political assistance.

Why do you think Weiss Ass is kiss ass to Antonio at every chance he gets appearing with him. Problem is since Antonio, Mecha boy, cholo mayor marched with illegals Westsiders are pissed. That recall is going to pick up steam because e-mails are flying like crazy to all the strong organizations in his district. Daily News is the only paper reporting the crap clowncil has been up to. How pathetic that Fruentes would take the money. Not a good way to start his assembly seat. He has to be embarrassed. If only the LA Slimes started being a real newspaper and reported this same corruption.

I gotta tell ya...

As a native Westsider and one who lived here when CA was 90% WHITE, I am SOOOOO disgusted with the frijole bean squatting in the Mayor's office and the frijole bean in training, Fabian Nunez, who is brushing up on his English so that he can takeover where the frijole bean leaves off...it causes me such pain and sadness that I cannot bear to watch the news or read the papers anymore.

My only question is WHY! WHY isn't every single American fighting to save CA and LA???? WHY is there so much apathy???? Why did everyone allow the Mecha beaner to get away with stealing this city with a pathetic 289,000 votes???

My son lives one block from the beaner Mayor's house on Irving and the beaner doesn't even fly the American flag in front of the Getty mansion that he is illegally inhabiting. I suppose we should be grateful that he isn't flying the Mexican buzzard rag in front!

Everyone saw him marching with the illegals...over and over and over! What does it take to bring the populus to their feet????

It's just sooooo sad!!!!

'Living wage' for LAX hotel staffs blocked

A judge rules the council illegally dodged putting the issue to voters, who now might see it on a 2008 ballot.

A judge Friday delivered a stinging rebuke to Los Angeles' labor and political leadership, barring the city from enforcing a ballyhooed new ordinance that would have extended the city's "living wage" protections to workers at hotels near Los Angeles International Airport.

The eight-page order by Superior Court Judge David P. Yaffe went far beyond merely blocking a law that had been considered a point of pride for the city's powerful labor interests. As a practical matter, Yaffe dealt a political defeat to the City Council, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the union that championed the law.

So this is the judge the City Attorney has decided to hear the legal challenge against Prop R.

Good Luck guys. There are only two Writ Judges both of which favor the rule of law over LA Politics.

Prop R court date June 7, 2007 Dept 86 111 No. Hill, Los Angeles.
