Emergency Road Expansion For Griffith Park?
With the recent fire at Griffith Park, look for some emergency repair motions from CM Tom Lebong(e). There has been talk of $50 for re-seeding and re-foresting. Only problem, the road is so narrow, ZD feels they will have to expand the road so the heavy trucks and crew can get through during restoration services.
AND THAT'S GOOD: Because since they want to build a hotel, restaurants, MONORAIL and eight story parking structure, you are gonna need to widen the road, anyway. (How can you have an eight story parking structure, with a narrow road?)
I'm sure since it's an emergency...there will be no time for competitive bids to build the expanded road. Better give it to that company who already built the subway. That'll keep things simple. (More to come...)

Too bad you and Matt don't have a paving company! You could have gotten the job yourselves, what with your persuasive ways.
I'm surprised you didn't allege he would give the job to Riordan or Broad; they are the usual suspects, aren't they?

Doesn't Riordan have the contract for those old second hand non-union busses they use at Griffith Park?
There is also Latham and Waktins, and others. But yeah, Uncle Eli is kinda a biggie. So is RIchie. Like Yoda and Obi Wan Kanobi.

ZD, you are on to something here. Good post.
Does anyone besides me feel that we are being ushered backward into an era of city politics more appropriate for "Chinatown?"
A mysterious fire drives home the calls for development in a district with few such opportunities? It's enought to make one paranoid.
You have these corrupt assholes appointing their BROTHERS to city commissions, that pay six figures+ a year (Cardenas). No one talks of nepotism.
You have people openly talking about the deals that were cut, as if we were some Banana Republic, to give away the people's representation (Alarcon to council, Fuentes to assembly, non-college-educated Montanez to commissions, and Kruschev will be new politburo chief).
Where is the rage?

Rage, did someone say "Rage"?
Haven't you seen ZD dancing and chanting at City Council meetings?
He gets great laughs, but no rage. Except for him. He's outrageous.

FOR THE RECORD: LAFD is NOT intersted in widening the public road into Griffith Park. They are only interested in the maintinence of the "fire roads" for things like brush. SO DO NOT EXPECT TO SEE THAT ROAD EXPANDED. LAFD DOESN'T WANT IT, AND IT APPEARS THERE IS A REASON THE ROAD HASN'T BEEN EXPANDED YET...Safety. So how can the masterplan call for a monorail, hotel, eight story garage and restaurants??? They must mean "nearby" -- not in the park grounds, itself.
