Fundraising Update: Only $139,600 To Go!

Walter Moore, Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, MooreIsBetter.com.

Good news! People throughout Southern California who want to replace Villaraigosa with yours truly as Mayor of L.A. have now contributed over $10,000 to the Committee to Elect Walter Moore!

Thank you to those of you who have already put your money where your mouth is.

As for the rest of you, please don’t wait a minute longer. The sooner we hit $150,000 -- the amount needed for matching funds and a spot in the TV debates -- the sooner the press will start covering me, which means more of our fellow voters will know they have a choice.

Please visit MooreIsBetter.com to contribute right now. Every contribution brings us closer. Plus, your contribution will be used to reach NEW people, not to pay for 30 more letters to you asking for more money. You can even sign up to make automatic contributions each month -- it adds up!

We can fix this city. All we need is another $139,600 for the admission ticket.

Most of the time you can't fix the freaking spelling in your blog posts, Walter.... much less the city of L.A.

Hmmm....

Do you REALLY want to try defending Villaraigosa on that basis? Please do. And do please try to get on your boss's debate prep team, would you?

Congrats!

I can't wait to watch Villaraigosa try to defend his record, let alone debate Walter.

"Uhhh.... uhhh.... "

It will be a long overdue comeuppance for the disservice he's done this town.

Assuming Southern California comes up with the remaining $139,600, the debates should be VERY interesting. I suspect there will be two, and only two, candidates in the debate, so he's not going to be able to "hide in the crowd."

Plus, each of us will get far more time than in the six-man free-for-all's in which I participated with him. That means he won't be able to hide as easily behind a glib one- or two-sentence response devoid of any specifics.

Walter,
I heard your radio commercial on KABC. Sounded Good. Will def help your name recognition. I plug your candidacy to family & colleagues when I get the chance.

Villaraigosa protesting his own police force sickened me, and I'm tired of end run around Prop 13.

BTW, I have no doubt that you'll do well in any debates, I just hope the lazy MSM and "establishment" treats your candidacy seriously.

I think "Even the L.A. Times" will feel compelled to cover my campaign if the public contributes the $150,000.

Now, that coverage will be neither fair nor balanced, but perhaps it will drive enough people to the website so they can see my platform for themselves.

Last time around, the local TV stations waited until the night of the election to mention me at all, presumably because they figured voters would notice the other candidates' numbers wouldn't total 100%! Of course, election night was a tad too late to do me much good.

Walter.

In order for you to get ANY ground in becoming an effective mayor you need the help of the City Council.

If you can gain support from 2 or 3 of them as your allies, you will be a very effective leader for this city. If not, all 15 council members will be licking their fangs as they see weak political antelope.
