And Mayor Sam I know you like to poke fun at the Mayor for his statements about "Cleaning Your Toilets" but perhaps the Mayor was closer the biblical text than you think, which would in effect mean you are poking fun at the Bible.

I think you could conclude that the "aliens" carrying water are virtually the same folks who now clean the toilets that carry our water.
Now perhaps Mayor Sam you find the Old Testament to be irrelevent to the debate on immigration.
The Bible says we must not allow the aliens among us to be abused: "Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood . . . " (Jeremiah 22:3). The writer of Hebrews tell us, "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels" (Hebrews 13:2). And most compelling of all, when Jesus speaks to the disciples in Matthew 25 about the end times, when the Son of Man will return to judge the nations, he warns that some will receive blessings because they ministered to the strangers in their midst:
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me" (Matthew 25:34-36).
And Mayor Sam I think the most compelling reason why I think immigration is a blessing and not something we should damn -- is because Mary & Joseph illegally entered Egypt with Jesus when he was a boy. Imagine if for a second if Tom Tancredo or Walter Moore was running Egypt at that time -- they would have deported Jesus and his parents back to a country where he could have been persecuted and killed by Herod.

The words of a 'Great' President have the same power today as they did a century ago. It may seem out dated, and even relate to vision from others even before that time speaking that the stars are our givers, the world is flat, or even electricty is evil.
If you really look at the context of what President Roosevelt is saying, we welcome you, now that you have decided to join our country, you are now one of us. ~~~~> (Like in U.S.)
On the other hand we are already becoming slaves in our land by occupying others with-out the mindset of a vision for America. It would be as though a couple who lives in a 5 bedroom house with 3 bathrooms. (this couple has vision) ~~~~ now all of a sudden they hire a gardner, who needs a place to stay. This gardner has a wife and one child. (They welcome them,-free for upkeeping the yard.) Then the child informs another childhood friend that they have found a place to live, who tells thier parents of the opportunity his friend has living in this huge home with nobody other than a couple.
The second family approaches, this time asking for assistance rather than seeking to aid in services. (The second family consists of the two parents, the two grandparents, and three children, one of which got the good news.) So that this orignal couple stays humble they accept the new family of (7) into the home. Now a total of (10) have no right to the home but are allowed to stay.
Here is what I meen of becoming inslaved. The original couple can not watch T.V. programs of choice since there is 4 children running around. (Children demand the T.V.) there is no longer a.... library, game room, or awating baby room, since they are all being occupied to meet the current conditions. The new familys go and come as they please, as a right, but now disturb the couple arriving at insane hours of the night. Not to mention the amount of companey these new families invite for weekend activities. Utilities have tripled and rest and relaxiation have diminished. The original couple feel good about helping out the other citizens, but are upset that the home has 'inadvertantly' been taken over by the new occupiers. (laundry rooms full, no available bathroom, no privacy, and no living room (taken over), and the only thing that gets done is the 'YARD'. ~~~(NO INCOME)
The impact on such a couple is 5 times overwhelming than described here. I'm sure you get the idea. If we continue in a way of accepting millions of immagrants from around the world on a regular basis, by the year 2107, this will not be AMERICA. It will become what everyone else makes it.
Go a century in the past for reference, use today as guidance, reflect on a century in the future and predict the state of this land for your grandchildren. THINK
The idea I express is individual, look at how the sense of the original couple losing what belongs to them, the opportunity of life as they are allowed to live, by having others deligate what should and should not take place. (Suggestive)
HOME NOW BELONGS TO EVERYONE, INSTEAD OF IT'S OWNERS.
They should not have accpted the second family......... too much to obsorb. Same thing with our country, accept to a limit. If we continue on this pace, 100 years from now, we will not live in AMERICA. (Detroit turns to 'Michocan', Des Moines turns to Uhiji, Seattle turns to Sinaloa, and Los Angeles turns to 'Los Puntos'...... (THE SPOT TO BE).
