Mayor Loses Appeal Re School Takeover

By Walter Moore, Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, MooreIsBetter.com.

The L.A. Times reports that today the Court of Appeals unanimously affirmed the Superior Court's ruling that Mayor Villaraigosa's school take-over plan is unconstitutional.

Meanwhile, the Mayor was signing his name, with a big black magic marker, on a steel girder of a building under construction for -- you guessed it -- yet another photo op. No word whether Zoner, the boy who "tagged" a bus while the Mayor was ridiing it for a prior photo op, attended today's photo op. If so, the Mayor could have mentored him: tagging a girder, ok; tagging a bus, not so much.

I also heard a report on the radio that Villaraigosa issued a press release offering to aid or comfort the families of Virginia Tech victims. I'm sure that was hugely comforting to them.

Exactly what does the Mayor think his job description is, anyway?

Anyhow, one difference between Villaraigosa and yours truly is this: I don't want to take control of L.A.'s children's education. Rather, I want to let their PARENTS take control, by letting them opt out of the LAUSD and receive vouchers to help them pay tuition for their children to attend private school -- you know, the kind of school to which the Mayor sends his children, so they won't have to be around taggers.

Post-script: the Daily News reports that, after receiving word of the Court of Appeals decision, the Mayor said, "If it was up to me, we would appeal immediately." Um, Mr. Mayor, it IS up to you, and, not to go all "English teacher" on you, but, since we are talking about education, what you mean to say is, "If it WERE up to me . . . ." It's called the "conditional" tense.

Antonio wants to go and comfort the virgina tech students? We have students in need right here. He should be comforting our students who don't have sufficient number of teachers, not enough books, school crime...

This is just like during the Katrina disaster when LA was thinking of taking care of some of those displaced pets and people. We have homeless pets and people here! Take care of LA first! That's your job.

Walter,

The Mayor is trying -- he gets a huge wet kiss from LA voters and LAUSD parents for that.

You on the hand propose something that has been defeated at the polls twice. And the second time the defeat was worse than the first voucher campaign.

But hey, i actually like the idea of you losing your campaign for mayor.

So keep on pushing ideas that won't fly.

where's all the mayor's spinners now?
oh wait, that's right, its tough to spin your way out of a unanimous appeals courts decision that 'wasn't even close'.

now, if we could just get to that pesky LAMC42.15 unconstitutional vending ordinance.....

our $500 an hour former President of the ACLU super attorney is working on extracting that section from the municipal code, stand buy, there's moves afoot, savvy?

I'm pleased that the Court of Appeals has slapped down, at least temporarily and hopefully permanently, the mayor's attempted power grab and takeover of LAUSD. Villaraigosa should concentrate on ridding Los Angeles of the illegal alien gang members destroying neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles, rather than attempting to hijack LAUSD.

Now make sure to vote against the puppets he supports for the school board.

Walter - this are great, funny, and true comments. Yes, AV believes SOME tagging is okay. And somehow, grief counselor to families who are 3,000 miles away is not in his job description.

Meanwhile, I'm ready to lay odds that the tagger Villaraigosa "took under his wings" has gone back to tagging and will have a rap (sheet, that is) before next Mayoral election.

To whom are you referring as "super attorney?" Villaraigosa was indeed head of the ACLU, but one thing no one can accuse him of being is an attorney. The People's College of Law issued him an unaccredited degree, but the State Bar never issued him a license to sue, despite his having taken the Bar Exam not once, not twice, not thrice, but four times.

7:43: The only thing Villaraigosa is "trying" to do is campaign for the next office, and seize control of as many tax dollars as possible so he'll have more to offer to special interest groups. The LAUSD's multi-billion dollar budget would let him dole out our money in exchange for money to run for governor, vice-president, senator or whatever.

Unbelievable that Antonio withi his arrogance is thinking of appealing to Supreme Court. His inner circle is embarrassed and sick of this whole LAUSD takeover and want him to move on but they say he's too stubborn and hates losing. He's going to give more money to corrupt gang programs even after Connie Rice and media have stated they waste $82 million. He hasn't done a damn thing for this city. Anything Antonio touches now is turning to shit. I'm sure Hillary is asking herself what was I thinking being photographed with him. National media is slamming him bigtime. The entire nation will now know what a loser LA Mayor is.

VillaGROSSa needs to find the nearest rock and crawl under it. He has disgraced this city. I am beyond embarrassment and anger.

His egomaniacal, thwarted attempt to take over LAUSD has cost taxpayers MILLIONS and will continue to cost MILLIONS, as this creepo will appeal it.

82M of our hard earned tax dollars was thrown out the window because of his love for the gangbangers. All of our taxpayer dollars are given to illegals and gangbangers! Period! He has done NOTHING for this city.

But the most STUPIDO thing he has EVER done was moving the bus stop at the Santee School!!!!!! What the fuck! HIS SOLUTION was NOT TO GET RID OF THE GANGBANGERS...IT WAS TO MOVE THE BUS STOP CLOSER TO THE SCHOOL!!!!!!!!! WHAT A STUPID, FUCKING IDIOT!

The second most eggregious offense was the Trash Tax (oops, excuse me...the Trash FEE)! How stupid does he thank we are????

LA will NEVER be the same again. He has brought nothing but corruption, crime, and third world conditions to our once beautiful city. Nothing short of demolition can restore this city.

Two more years!!! Can we get rid of him sooner????

Here's my prediction:

By the end of Mechista Boy's term, LAUSD will go from 47th worst school system in the country to THE WORST SCHOOL SYSTEM in the country! Villar will take LA to the BOTTOM!!!!!

The good thing is that even the LA Slimes is beginning to turn on him! Happy days are here again!
