Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

CityWatch reports that Zuma Dogg's favorite clowncilman, Jack "Wacko Jacko" Weiss recently told a local neighborhood council that Department of Transportation Gloria Jeff was "putting the cart before the horse" when she poo-pooed Zev Yarvoslasky's plan to turn Olympic and Pico Boulevards into one way streets.

Among the issues members of the "912" Neighborhood Council reform commission will have to consider is if the Councils should continue to be subject to the same provisions of the Brown Act that City officials must adhere to. This is in light of views on some NC members' parts that the act interferes with conducting business. Another consideration is that the state Attorney General and county District Attorney do not have the resources to even investigate alleged violations of the act by elected bodies, let alone the local councils.

Attention City traffic officials who read this blog: Folks in Palms want left turn signals at Overland and Venice. Where is Bob Hertzberg when you need him?

And finally, email flames, secret committees and more in Mar Vista.

...Villaraigosa to give his annual State of the City address, and it appears that Wednesday's speech will focus on two themes he has espoused for the past several months: gangs and education reform.....will be East Valley High School in Panorama City, one of Los Angeles Unified's newest campuses.

....Chemerinsky asked Chick to talk about her work as controller, her efforts to uncover waste and fraud, and how she reshaped the office. (WASTE AND FRAUD CHICK KNOWS ABOUT AND WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. SHE'S A HYPOCRITE)

...This week Chick will host the elected controllers from Long Beach, Oakland and Berkeley to discuss common issues. (CHICK HAS NO COMMON SENSE. SHE DOESN'T WANT TO AUDIT THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN HER POLITICAL CAMPAIGN MONEY)

yep, Gloria Jeff highlights the problem: lack of co-operation between authorities.

does anyone need to remind her that this City lies within the COUNTY of Loos Analness??

theyre inextricably intertwined so to speak, and by WORKING TOGETHER Ms Jeffs, is how you identify, and solve common problems.

oh, and I guess no county freeways run through this City either.

drop your petty political bullshit and start talking to the people who seem to be offering ideas and suggestions, not just slamming the political aspect.

Transportation Department GM’s Gloria Jeff commented that the turning Olympic and Pico Boulevards into one-way streets was not “a viable” solution to breaking up some of LA’s traffic congestion."

[ZD said...Did she make a final proclomation that it "WAS NOT a viable decision?" Has she has done the statistical analysis, and flow chart analysis, and studied it from a "systems thinking viewpoint", or just doesn't F*CKING feel like it. Which one, I would like to know. Sounds pretty difinitive.

Cause it would seem to me that it WOULD be more efficient to have one way streets, because you decrease the amount of people stopping traffic to make left turns against the traffic coming the other way, AND of course it is more efficient for a street to operate "one way", than two.

Now ZD has not done the statistical analysis yet, so this is just my preliminary theory.

So these "one-ways" can effectively become express lanes -- and if you need to drive shorter distances (more left turns), take a parrellel "two way street".]

County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has ordered a study -- and that at the moment no one knows what a Pico-Olympic one-way street plan might look like.

[ZD...Oh, I guess Jeff HAS NOT done the research proir to stating a definitive opinion.]

Jeff also wondered why city traffic was the business of a county supervisor.

[ZD said...Well Jeff, the City is in the County, so that's a problem. I mean why should the County have the City of LA as part of the County if they have no say in the matter. If you don't want the County to be part of a co-operative effort (as Deming would suggest), then why don't you start a petition to have the City of Los Angeles leave L.A. County, and become a separate County.]

On other issues, Weiss reported that the Mayor’s budget would be out on April 18 and that a resolution to the McMansion controversy is “in the oven” but not ready yet.

[And when he says, "yet", he means, not all the money has been made yet, and there's still some time to drag it out for as long as possible, and continue to bilk as much money as possible.]

He also reminded the attendees that, because of his “Good Neighbor” initiative … designed to help stakeholders stop violations of city codes … construction sites in residential areas must now post contact information for builders, job hours and permit numbers. By reporting violations to the City’s 311 system, Weiss says, stakeholders can aid in the enforcement of work hours, noise violations pedestrian safety.

[WAY TO GO JACK---, I'll leave the last three letters off your name for that one. Who can complain about that? Except for the fact that most of these projects shouldn't even be constructed in the first place if you followed Charter law.]

Someone mentioned the Sylmar Children's Museum project to me. (Supposed to have built an new one.)

What's the story behind it? I heard it was never completed? So where did all the money go? Did they not have enough money. Sounds like something ZD would like to know more about?

What's up with it, dough?

What made her an expert in transportation, anyway? Does she have a 4-year college degree in this discipline (who cares if she's the City's head of the DOT?)?

I asked what happened to Walter's post from Sunday afternoon that disappeared. Walter said:

As for rent control, I never made any such comparison, so there is no such article.

Written like a true lawyer.

There was "such article" whether Walter wants to admit it or not. He deleted it and should tell us why.

The title of the post was "Rape Me Again," "Keep Raping Me," or something like that, and I know that title was written by Walter because he posted it.

Walter's post contained a comment from an earlier blog post that compared rent control to rape (of the property owner). The words were not Walter's, but the title of the post and the fact that he thought the comment should be posted on the main page imply that he endorses the idea that rent control should be compared to rape.

Perhaps the average reasonable person thinks it is too extreme to compare rent control to rape, and that's why Walter took his post down. We won't know until he explains it to us.

Walter, did you delete your post, and if so, why?
