CBS Channel 2 and KCAL 9 reports:"The 'Pedestrian and Motor Vehicle Post-Stop Data Analysis Report,' compiled by Analysis Group Inc., showed that Latino and black motorists are more likely than whites to be searched during a traffic stop, but the study failed to determine whether the treatment was a sign of racial profiling by officers."

Suspect At Large In South L.A. Fatal Teen Shooting
(CBS) LOS ANGELES A shooting in South Los Angeles left a teen dead and another hospitalized, authorities said Monday.
The shooting occurred at Main and 103rd streets around 9:45 Sunday night, according to Los Angeles police officer Marjan Mobasser.
No arrests were reported.
The fatally wounded victim was identified as James Jamail Cox, according to Capt. Ed Winter of the coroner's office.

Anna Interiano was with friends about 1:30 p.m. last Tuesday when a man got out of an SUV in the 8900 block of Cadillac Avenue and opened fire, striking the teenager in the head.
Man Shot With .22 Caliber Gun in Buttock
(CBS) BOYLE HEIGHTS, Calif. A man was shot in one of his buttocks Friday night in Boyle Heights, police said.
The shooting occurred at 10:30 p.m. at 432 S. St. Louis St., near East 4th Street, Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Michael Morisseau said.
The victim, a man in his 20s, reportedly felt pain in one of his buttocks and at first thought he had been hit with a firework, Morisseau said.
Drinking Gang Member Shoots Boys, 3 And 6
(CBS) LOS ANGELES A Boyle Heights gang member that had been drinking critically shot a 3-year-old boy and his 6-year-old brother.
The shooting occurred about 9:35 p.m. Saturday night outside an apartment building in the 400 block of St. Louis Street.
Mauricio Alejandro Jiminez, who goes by "Spider", was on the east side of the apartment drinking rum and beer when he pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired a shot in the direction of the victims.
The boys, who were playing in a driveway, did not appear to be the intended target. A bullet went through the wrist of Jeremy Hernandez, 3, and lodged itself in the stomach of his brother, James Hernandez.
Boys 3 and 6 remain hospitalized as police seek shooter
LOS ANGELES - Two young boys remained hospitalized Monday after being struck by a bullet and police were looking for an area gang member that they believe was the shooter.

Police identified the shooting suspect Sunday as Mauricio Alejandro Jimenez, 26, who authorities said is a member of the Boyle Heights-based Tiny Boys gang.
Jimenez was deported to Mexico four months ago after serving more than a year in prison on weapons and gang-related charges.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and police officials appealed to Boyle Heights residents Sunday to help track down Jimenez. Villaraigosa said Jimenez's prison sentence had been too light, and the shooting represented a failure of the local justice system.

Next door to the Soto Street School in Los Angeles' Boyle Heights district is a tri-level freeway exchange where the Santa Monica, Santa Ana, and Interstate 5 freeways come together. The school has no auditorium or cafeteria, so students meet and eat outside. Walls of portable classrooms vibrate when trucks go by and do little to keep out noise. When Margarita Sanchez, a nurse and mother of two children in the school, began walking her children to school, she felt she was "suffocating" from the pollution and noise of the diesel trucks traveling to the nearby freeway on-ramp.
Convincing Caltrans to build a sound wall is a tougher job. With the support of community organizations including Madres del Este de L.A., S.I. and the Boyle Heights Residents and Homeowners Association, parents wrote letters to Caltrans. A Caltrans letter sent to school district lawyers in July said that a sound wall at Soto Street School is not needed and would be too expensive. Soto Street parents are now conducting a letter-writing campaign to Maria Contreras-Sweet, secretary of business, transportation, and housing, asking that Caltrans build a sound wall and close the on-ramp near the school Meanwhile, Soto Street parents pushed for their school to be an official site in the current statewide sampling of air quality at schools. When a local junior high was chosen instead, Soto Street parents persuaded regulators to install a satellite monitor at their school. An initial report from the Air Resources Board showed that on 16 of the 22 days tested, the air at the Soto Street School violated the state standard for particulate pollution.

Latinos and blacks unfortunately do commit most of the crimes in the city, its a fact. unfortunately we only see the tip of the iceberg. Social equality would almost wipe that out. Oh, but illeagal immigrants are not included since they do not qualify for that. So, if we get rid of the "mojados" all will be cured
