Welcome Walter Moore

Today we announce that Walter Moore has officially joined the Sister City as a contributor. We've been carrying Walter's weekly column that is carried on a number of blogs, over at MS2, but here Walter will contribute material exclusive to the Sister City.

Walter Moore is a licensed attorney and real estate broker. Moore graduated with honors from Princeton University in 1981, with a degree in Public and International Affairs. He graduated with honors from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1984, and was an Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. Moore worked as a business trial lawyer from 1984 to 2005, and became a real estate broker in 2005.

Moore ran for mayor of Los Angeles in the 2005 election and received 11,409 votes. His platform included: fighting illegal immigration; stopping an $11.5 billion remodel of LAX; hiring more police; ending "pay to play" corruption and "welfare for the rich;" and making the city's animal shelters "no-kill." Moore is running again in the 2009 election because the current mayor is destroying, rather than enhancing, the quality of life in our city.

Welcome to the blog, Walter!

In other bloggy news, former Sister City Contributor, Mayor Daniel, has opened up his new blog to detail his battles as an animal welfare activtist. You can check out Mayor Daniel at http://mayordaniel.blogspot.com/.

After a couple of weeks of allowing him to embarrass Sister City with insulting, error-filled drivel, you exiled "Mayor Daniel" to his own private Idaho. Now let's see how long it takes wannabe "Mayor Walter" to similarly inspire you.

Walter Moore's past postings here have shown a remarkable propensity for being detached from both reality and the truth. He can think what he wants about Villaraigosa or anybody else, but to be believable, he's going to have to show he knows something about how government actually functions. That's a tall order for somebody like Moore. Good luck with this boneheaded decision.

I have one question for Mr. Moore:

Mr. Moore,

No one is more against illegals and their 'illegal' mayor, than I am!!!!!!! I hate them!

BUT, as much as you appear to oppose them , how do you propose to get rid of them? I will vote for ANYONE who comes up with a viable plan to get rid of them.

Let's hear from you.

oh no, first Mailander, now Walter Moore.
I'm telling you, MS is not 4th Floor.

You're right. The Fourth Floor was a place for the young, mostly immature scalawags who work for the electeds to masurbate their own egos and anonymously take shots at one another. It was, in a crude sense, inside baseball.

It was also a place for the so-called journos who fawn over and attempt to bed (some succesfully) these staffers to feel like they're part of something too. That is why you will never, never see serious exposes come out of the LA City Hall press corps (other than when they expose themselves to the young, nubile staffers).

Mayor Sam has all of this, but he's taken it one step further. He's expanded it past City Hall, included the wacky local activists, tossed in a little pop culture, history and trivia, and created a site that documents what a soap opera Los Angeles government truly is.

Mailander, Solis, Alger, Moore, et al are all part of his master plan to have a joke on all of us. And I have to say, many times, he's succeeded.

You might just call Mayor Sam the P.T. Barnum of the Blogosphere.

Then again, I could be wrong.

This site used to be about trashy gossip about local political leaders. Sadly those days have gone.

Instead, we're left with a stinking pile of troll posts and Wikipedia copy-and-paste jobs.

Sigh.

I long for anonymously posted dirt on elected officials.

Walter Moore inspires a cockroach to commit suicide, encourages ill-gotten school children to genocide and pushes misinformed public policy like yesterday's newspaper.

Blogs are the way of the future. WE get more dirt on our electeds from people who know them personally and the mainstream media are too afraid to report. Journos read these blogs to get tips. I agree the LA city hall media kiss butts want to pretend they're in the loop. Always trying to get the big scoops from 3rd and 4th floor morons.

FAIRUS.ORG:

To refute the idea that the alternative to an amnesty for illegal aliens is mass deportation, FAIR produced this 7-step attrition plan for the outbound flow of illegal immigration:

1. Secure the borders
2. Apply strong and serious worksite enforcement
3. Eliminate document fraud
4. Reform unwitting accomplices: SSA and IRS
5. Encourage state and local law enforcement to enforce immigration laws
6. Eliminate state and local benefits to illegal aliens
7. Provide necessary resources to DHS and DoJ.

Oh god. Moore is just as bad as Daniel. Neither one of them have anything interesting or important to add. Surely Daniel was "exiled" for his vile, mean untruths.

Moore just babbles his looney opinions. On the bright side, no "mayor" who blogs here will ever be a real Mayor. So we can forget that idle threat of Moore's.

As long as Daniel is gone and nobody reads his blog, who cares.

I'm with Ubray. I long for the old hot scoop on the politicians.

This is all just crap.

So I went to Daniel's blog. No comments allowed. It's just Danny spitting out total bullshit and nobody can respond. That's not a real blog. That's just a forum for a nutty loser to spew his misinformed venom and name calling with no responsibility.

I doubt anybody will visit there except for his Vlasak/Ferdin gang of terrorist friends.

What bullshit. A man with real substance would debate the people who disagree with you.

What's your problem, Sam? Your credibility went from just above zero to just below zero! Rather than hiring sad-sack whiners that no one listens to, you should spend more time doing actual journalism and scooping a story once in a while, like the LAX reorg or DWP's silly (and expensive) antics. Scooping shouldn't be that hard, since the Times' City Hall reporters have so little direction on what to actually report on!
