More Endorsements for Montanez
LABOR SUPPORT FOR MONTANEZ MARCHES ONWorkers statewide continue to support Assemblymember Cindy Montanez’s bid for Senate, with the latest endorsements coming from the Association Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the Communications Workers of America and the United Auto Workers.
"There is no greater honor for a candidate than to receive the support of our hardworking men and women," said Montanez (D-San Fernando). "These are the very people who keep our communities going."
AFSCME California, The Southern California Council of CWA and UAW Region 5, with its strong and historic presence in the San Fernando Valley, join a long list of labor endorsees, representing millions of workers in the fields of law enforcement and public safety, health care, education, construction and the building trades.
A partial list labor organizations backing Montanez includes: the California Federation of Labor, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, the Service Employees International Union, California Association of Highway Patrolmen; Association for Los Angeles Deputies (ALADS); United Firefighters Los Angeles City, Local 112; Los Angeles County Firefighters, Local 1014, California Federation of Teachers; California Nurses Association; California Faculty Association, California School Employees Association, International Union of Operating Engineers, District Council of Ironworkers, and; Painters & Allied Trades District Council 36.

Oh...and her bid to get UTLA away from Alex failed.

Word has it that Alex was so worried about losing UTLA that he pulled out all the stops: personal flyer with kissing UTLA's ass, bringing half his staff to the meeting, and wearing a UTLA shirt....now thats a classic. He was so worried that Alex and his staff had to be asked to stop listening to the proceeding with their ears on the door. how sad is that? a city council member with his ear on the door just trying to hear what was going on.

Aren't UTLA and LA Unified's police union Alex's only union endorsers? For that matter, aren't they pretty much the only organizations that have endorsed him? He's got Boxer and Feinstein but when you look at the list of Cindy's endorsements on her literature it's pretty impressive.
Endorsements may not mean much but back in the days when I was Joe Average Voter and I didn't know who to vote for, if I saw a list like Cindy's I'd be pretty damn impressed.

Union or not, One thing I do see here is this, That Mexican flag waving, wetback supportin' SOB of the mayor is supporting Cindy, so does that mean that Cindy is going to bring all of her illegal family here to the U.S.of A. to leech off of us hardworking American Citizens. I can see it now, that East LA scum bag is not going to tell us San Fernando Valley folks what to do by endorsing Cindy, I say lets put a stop to this and Vote for the least worst Mexican. I, John Q. Just doin my homework...and, Tell ya what everyone, I like this mexican kid Padilla, I was just on a website that is independant of everyone else and it states that padilla has out raised this Montanez chick by almost 2 to 1 ratio, if that little "freehole" wants to beat the little beaner she has to raise over 431,406.00 US Dollars. Talk about a man who can bring in the bucks, heck I now know he can get the job done when it comes to bringing home the bacon, unlike Montanez who only gets porked, but no bacon to bring home.

All anyone has to do is compare the records. Alex has accomplished a lot more as councilman at a young age and Cindy just doesn't seem to know what to say to an audience and what her vision is. Stop the personal attacks.

Everything that has been accomplished since Alex (which is very little), like the New police station, new library, new kids museum, were started and mostly funded by then councilman Alarcon. he is still riding the coat tails of him and taking all the credit. Have you seen Pacoima lately, nothing has changed. it is still the armpit of the Valley. And please dont say the crime rate, we all know that has to do with the crack cocaine lossing its hold in urban cities and not anything "ANY" councilman has done.
