Brown Picks Up Newspaper Endorsements
Both the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle have resoundingly endorsed Jerry Brown for Attorney General. Both editorials praise Brown’s proven record of experience in contrast with his opponent--Rocky Delgadillo--who is “not ready for the job” (Times). Additionally, the San Francisco Chronicle rebuked Delgadillo’s negative campaign calling it “desperate at best, disingenuous at worst.”
According to the Chronicle, “Brown’s extensive record of support for abortion rights is clear. So is the choice in this primary: Jerry Brown should be the Democrats’ nominee for attorney general.”
The Los Angeles Times said: “More than just a criminal prosecutor, the attorney general must protect consumers, uphold environmental laws, defend civil rights and advise countless state boards, agencies and officials on the law. Brown is clearly better suited than Delgadillo for that task.”
The editorials credit Brown as having “cut-to-the-chase sensibility” and “understanding of the state’s government and its many departments, a sense of how to bridge differences to avert prolonged and costly lawsuits and a dedication to the law” (SF Chronicle); and “his rare combination of innovation and pragmatism” (LA Times). The LA Times emphasizes Brown’s longstanding leadership on important issues including political reform and environmental protection.
The LA Times noted that Delgadillo’s “record is spotty” including a “shoddy probe into a billboard company that helped him get elected…sketchy explanations for why he sent lucrative contracts to particular firms…his poor oversight of [the law firms’] work,” activities that are “documented in a highly critical state audit.”
Every recent poll—including the Field Poll and the Los Angeles Times Poll—show Brown with a commanding lead over both Delgadillo and the likely Republican nominee. The Field Poll, California’s most authoritative independent poll, shows Brown with a 41 point lead over Delgadillo. The LA Times Poll shows Brown with a 33 point lead over Delgadillo and a 25 point lead over the Republican contender.

Excellent!
Not only is Delgadillo not ready for Attorney General, he can't even handle City Attorney.
Spotty record? Nonexistent is more like it.
That billboard scam threw me over the edge. It was Delgadillo, Hahn and Smith. Scandalous and despicable.
The environmental record is being used by one paper to endorse Brown. I think Delgadillo's environmental record would be anti-environmental.

Jerry better watch out -- Rocky has really stepped up his prosecution of misdemeanors in anticipation of the big day:
(CBS) LOS ANGELES A Colombian woman, 29, faces misdemeanor charges for allegedly stealing seven passports, possessing a semi-automatic pistol and forged money, City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo announced Monday.
Solange Candelo will answer to 15 misdemeanor charges in May during an arraignment in Los Angeles Superior Court, Delgadillo said. If convicted, she faces up to nine years in jail.

This is so old. Rocky's people are now telling everyone that he simply ran to increase his name recognition..... apparently, as severely beaten loser. Rocky is the Cruz Bustamante of our time (except, Rocky is only partly Latino and not as fat).

"Not ready for the job", "record is spotty", "shoddy probe", "sketchy explanations", "lucrative contracts" to his pet law firms, "slow, unsure, unclear opinions", "highly critical state audit". Ouch!
Wait til you see those quotes in a TV ad. Rockard will be toast. Lucky he is vested in his public pension and has Ann D'Amato to take care of him...

Sure, you want to buy that for Mayor Sam?

Don't worry about AV GOP's. Worry about CHINA
Chinese weather specialists used chemicals to engineer Beijing's heaviest rainfall of the year, helping to relieve drought and rinse dust from China's capital, the official Xinhua News Agency reported Friday.
Technicians with the Beijing Weather Modification Office fired seven rocket shells containing 163 cigarette-size sticks of silver iodide over the city's skies on Thursday, Xinhua said.

Keep on patting yourselves on the back, Moonbeam lovers. Rocky was 31 points down to Mike Feuer and came back to win. He'll beat the odds and win the AG race.

Yeah but Rocky didn't have the corruption he has now and that will hurt him especially with Latinos. Where are his commercials? He has his city staff campaigning on city time.

Name them, limp dick. There are none.

Rocky was down 9 points, not 31 points, in his first race for city attorney. Why can't you guys just tell the truth?
Anonymous said:
No, you're wrong. Rocky was down 31 and he beat Feuer--just like he'll beat Brown.
