9:30 AM -- LA Board of Public Works meeting. City Hall, 200 N. Spring St., Room 350

9:30 AM -- LA City Council President Eric Garcetti will read to a group of elementary school students to kick off the re-opening of the Los Angeles Public Library's Frances Howard Goldwyn-Hollywood Regional Branch, which has undergone a $1 million renovation. Garcetti will tour the building at 9:30 AM; library will open to the public at 10 AM. 1623 N. Ivar St.

10:00 AM -- LA City Councilwoman Janice Hahn will announce free pet spaying and neutering services being offered in the Watts area through a mobile clinic operated by the Sam Simon Foundation. Martin Luther King Jr. Shopping Center, 1671 E. 103rd St.

11:00 AM -- LA City Controller Laura Chick will release her third audit of the city's Recreation and Parks Department, concentrating this time on the department's ability to maintain its facilities. Holmby Park, Beverly Glen Boulevard and Comstock Avenue.

11:00 AM -- A helicopter that carried Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford to various places will arrive at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace and be formally welcomed as the cornerstone of a new permanent exhibit. Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace, 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd.

1:30 PM -- LA Airport Commission meeting. Clifton Moore Administration Building, LAX, #1 World Way., Board room

7:30 PM -- LA City Council President Eric Garcetti will help launch the Holly Trolley, a bus that transports riders to restaurants and nightclubs and two MTA Red Line stops. Holly Trolley arrival, with Garcetti and other expected guests, at 7:30 PM; program at 8 PM. Mood nightclub, 6623 Hollywood Blvd.
