LA County Campaign-finance Ordinance
As long as the theme of the day appears to be boneheaded quotes, here is another one for you from Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke from the Daily Breeze..."What if the person who is preparing the report makes an error and then files the amendment prior to the time anyone picks up that there has been an error? I guess everybody else has these great treasurers that get their reports in (early) ... so they have plenty of time to review it.."
Ummm yeah. That sounds about right. Heaven forbid should you you actually file things in a timely manner. I think that is the whole point of the ordinance to begin with.

I wonder, Why the County board is so worried about this?
Is it because now they would have to actually work for their votes rather than having it paid for by large campaign donors?
Is it because now their seats will be up for grabs in a closer election?
That's as idiotic as Alex Padilla 'giving up' his presidency to focus on his campaign.

Yvonne Burke is a saint compared to Maxine Waters. Her husband and her kids basically blackmail donors into their campaign pamphlets.
Every time I see her ugly prune face on those pamphlets, I rip it out and whip it on my ass and flush it down the toilet.

Now is the time to unseat Zev. If just two more people file for the seat, there will be a runoff. When there is a runoff, contributors will hedge their bets and the media will pay attention to the race. This is a chance to change county government and send a corrupt politician packing.
