A few of today's LAUSD Headlines...
Did LAUSD blow its chance to get land for free?
Critics complain school district's plan to buy the former Navy property in San Pedro now is folly.
By Melissa Milios, Daily Breeze
Memories are vivid and long in San Pedro, but it wasn't that far back when the former Navy property on Western Avenue was being given away for free -- and the Los Angeles Unified School District passed up the offer.

Under fire to submit to a city Controller's Office management audit, the LAUSD released the results of a review it commissioned one year ago on district organization and structure, revealing steady improvement and little need for large restructuring, officials said Monday.
L.A. Unified Gets Mixed Marks in Audit
A report sees progress in test scores but cites nagging turf wars and accountability issues.
By Duke Helfand, Times Staff Writer
The Los Angeles Unified School District has made major strides in raising test scores and building schools over the last five years, but it is seriously hampered by internal turf wars, antiquated business systems and no clear plan to retain teachers, top administrators and others accountable for district goals, an independent audit found Monday.

Just received a press release about Monica's futile attempt to get elected to the Board.
MONICA GARCIA ENTERS CONTEST FOR HUIZAR’S SEAT WITH SUPPORT FROM COUNCILMAN AND COMMUNITY
She ought to be running where she lives: Montebello.

Funny Monica G. can make this statment without knowing who all the candidates are: "She is the only candidate whose professional experience stretches from the school site to the school board."
They forgot to mention cafeteria!

How many SERIOUS, serious management screwups have to be reported about LAUSD in the last several years before someone with a shred or intellectual integrity will admit that the buck SHOULD have stopped with the president during most of that time, Jose Huizar. Now this incompetent hack who is unwilling to take responsibility for his own past mistakes as the more powerful elected member of the last board is a city councilman, heading a committee charged with looking into the EFFICIENCY of the city council and its charges.
Are we fucked, or what...
signed, NOT A PACHECO SUPPORTER (so get over it and make Huizar take some responsibility for once)

What is Monica Garcia's background?
Did she attend college?

Probably In-n-Out College. She probably graduated with honors.

Good point, bad guesser!

How does one find out what non-school properties LAUSD owns in a certain area?

Its hard to accept that Huizar would be so dumb and hire Alvin "the crook" Parra. Seems no one wants to deal with and the word is spreading fast for everyone to ignore him where ever he goes. If we pretend he doesn't exist he will disappear. Dumbest move Jose could have made.

Huizar has to pay his tribute the Lord of the manor, AV. This is like when the mob rolls in and loans you money, but they say you GOT to employ "Uncle Vinny's" (retarded or thieving, or both) Nephew as your bookkeeper, or ELSE they'll call in the loan.
AV has to payback Alvin for slime-assistance, and sticking him in a mid-level job in CD14 could only hurt who? CD14 (like AV gives a shit), his wasted two years as CM is just old baggage and skimpy campaign contributions.
Now it's a place the "parke" the retard, Homer!

This is Monica's campaign to lose.
She's got game. Just watch Pachecoistas...

Hear me now: Monica will not prevail. You can't be non-articulate and big as a house and win this thing.

Bigot.

Monica,
I have NO idea who you are, but I want you to win the seat just to shut these assholes up who are saying things about your weight.
I have to think that there is something else about you that is scaring them. Are you too strong for them?
Ever notice how fat men are okay? Just not women? Men made that rule.
Go Monica!

Good point... vote for someone BECAUSE they're fat (just to spite the anti-fat "weightists"). That makes you just as stupid as the bigots.
"Strong" is also not a very good label to pin on someone who shows no self-control over issues of their own health.

Oh get out of here with your stupid skinny self. You a vegan? You one of those animal rights nuts?
Some people smoke, some eat, some take valium, some exercise, some drink but everyone has a vice.
Some are just more visible than others and none have an effect on the intellectual ability, which isn't even mandatory to work in this city whether it's for the school board or the city council members.
At City Hall, I've met some pretty fucking smart fat people and I've met some gorgeous airheads who are dumber than a doorknob.

SO aside from looks- and on to issues- who is going to rally enough community support while maintaining the rest of the board and unions to be an effective school board member? Tomorrow is the last day to declare- and what its now 6 candidates? Before the candidates even officially get their names on the ballot- any wagers on who the winner will be?
