Open Thread for the Weekend
For those of you wondering what to do with your weekend, here is an idea to get out from behind your computer...
L.A. County Fair Is Open for Fun -- The event entices with old-fashioned animals and pie contests, but also has 2,000 vendors adding a commercial touch.

Looks like the DNC debacle, only worked out for Alex Padilla's advantage, as he gears up for a prospective run at U.S. Senate (?).
30 Million dollars of city money, not a bad deal.

For another, 42 of Villaraigosa's 72 appointees were campaign donors, who kicked in nearly $75,000 to Villaraigosa's bid to kick Hahn out ...
Villaraigosa's appointees to the most powerful panels, for the most part, are campaign contributors.
His seven appointees to the Airport Commission and three appointees to the MTA board donated to Villaraigosa's campaign committees...Four of the five appointees to the DWP board contributed to Villaraigosa's mayoral campaign this year, while a fifth wrote a check for the 2001 campaign.
So much for Antonio's bullshit lies that he would be a lot different and not do what Hahn did then turns around and does the exact same thing.

Gossip is spreading that Mayor Sam is actually a field rep in a council district. Why didn't Steve Hymon report that? Does anyone know what Council District or person he's working for? If its CD 14 I see big ethic violations especially with the Jose stuff being posted.

So that explains why the Mayor and his friends have kept a somewhat positive tone for the past week and a half.
How ironic that they lambasted elected officials and now that there identity is revealed, they keep their feelings on the down low. What a crock!

Anybody know how that lawsuit in San Fernando is going along? Mayor Frank talked about it weeks back, he hasn't gone back to it. This is shaping out to be pretty big.
I hear Alex Padilla's plucked candidates are being sued on the basis of Civil Rights--Anti-Semitism. It is rumored that in the windy days of the city campaign, his candidate Jose Hernandez was heard going off about Jews on his door-to-door walks canvassing (which lasted only a few minutes).
I wonder if Diane Feinstein knows about AP's ardent support of anti-Jew candidates.
Anybody know more about this?

Yeah, Alex Padilla first experimented with race baiting in the 98 20th Senate race as well, against Katz (a jew).

Mayor Sam was that guy from the Valley, right? Now your saying he is a field rep? What is the true story here?

Seems to me that all these politicians are actually together instead of against each other.

Ed Reyes is another worthless politician.

Yeah I remember that campaign. Alex and Tony took money from Checchi and put it into Alarcon's campaign. They used that money for mailers insinuating that Katz was behind the poll guards in Santa Ana during the '94 election - the prop 187 year. These poll guards were asking Latinos to prove their citizenship as they went to the polls. Latino political elected officials - all of them including Polanco who was Alex and Tony's hero - stayed quiet. Instead, Katz, as majority leader, took up the issue and blasted the Republican Party. The Latino electeds remained quiet then they had the nerve to attack Katz, a Jew, as somehow being involved with the poll guards. This is Alex's style of politics - unscrupulous and unethical. Doesn't Alex have the record for the largest fine ever levied by the Ethics Commission?
