This is truly amazing to watch.

All to often people, especially politicians, just talk about things, Jim actually stepped up to DO something.

I also noticed that there isn't one word on his campaign site about his trip other then news references. Not sure if that is a smart move, but it is laudable.

Jim is not doing this for his campaign, which is probably why he doesn't care about touting it on his web site. He does have a link to one Daily News article about the Democrats picnic that briefly mentions his flight, but that's it for now.

Jim is doing this because he can, its needed, and he wants to help.

There is an amazing feeling you get when you know make an impact in others' lives.

How about we get him elected to Assembly first.

This would be all good i Jim was running for office in MISSISSIPPI. But he is running in California and is going to need all the help he can get to beat a Republican in a Republican seat... especially since the Democrats don't like the idea that Jim isn't party-line politician.

We keep saying we need someone like Jim, but it's one thing to talk, it is another to DO... as Jim has so vividly shown us all this week.

Sam,

Are you getting your updates from Jims voicemail? I just called him and he sounded bad, tired or just out of it.

Kind of chilling.

I've been getting both voice mails and live calls from Jim as well as emails from his team.

I am sure he is tired. He has made several flights from Mississippi to places like Tennessee, West Virginia, etc. Its not the same as taking jet flights, flying those little planes is not a whole lot unlike driving long distances, more or less. I am sure he isn't sleeping much cause they are doing a lot of flying at night.

This is one of those times where people are in desperate need and we all should all set our agendas aside and pitch in. Jim is one of the few that walks the walk, God bless him!

I've spoken to him also. He is pretty tired. He's kind of sickened by some things he's seen, but he's also energized by transporting kids to their parents.

As much as he likes to promote himself in general around town, this is definitely not a campaign move. This is serious for him. He has this "thing" because he grew up in New York and he happened to be there on 9/11. He has this need to help people. Even when he can't afford it.

I just spoke to Jim. He says they have one more family to transport out of Biloxi, Mississippi and the one's that are left after that are ready to start to rebuild.

Luckily there are people in this world who just want to help to make this world a better place. Luckily for us one of them lives in our community.

Our hearts and our prayers are with you Jim for a safe flight back home.
