So this is how you solve the problem of students who graduated or dropped out of LAUSD which contributed to their illiteracy.

A 175 billion dollar bond measure, billions of dollars more in school budgets and L.A. has an illeteracy problem. Even Fidel Castro erradicated illiteracy in Cuba with minimal funds.

3.8 million low literacy adults! With a 1.8 GPA is Antonio considered part of this group?

Amazing that at every corner Antonio is still trying to do all he can for Sleazy Huizy. Word around the city is Antonio wimped out of the LAUSD control issue now he's at every school opening. He's now been labeled "Clown of LA". He's been appearing at every photo op even though he had nothing to do with it but wants to take credit as always. People who voted for him are embarrassed by his arrogance.

Damn, AV is a shortie! Cause Sean Astin is only 5'6" on a good day.

Send our kids to CUBA instead of LAUSD, education is free there, right?
What a shame! Capitalist country and our democrats are unable to teach kids to read for over 20+ years.

And you know he's wearing lifters. Does the term napealonic complex ring true here?
Anonymous said:
9:21 As long as you can say, "Si Se Puede" the democratic party doesn't care about anything else. Antonio's 1.8 teaches are kids they can flunk at school & college and still become the biggest Latino broker between land developers and City Hall/LAUSD.
The students get reprimanded if they are below a 2.0, how did UCLA award a degree with a 1.8, that is odd...if this is common, our UC system is corrupt.
On this site, an anon posted some time ago of Gloria Molina having NO DEGREE...how many more uneducated candidates do we have? I don't care about color, race, etc...just how many out there do not have a decent education/degree?

Antonio is only 5'2, but he claims to be taller, he wears high heel shoes.

Prop 13, which virtually capped funding for schools and other social programs was a Republican plan, not Democrat.
It's republicans who have hurt education in our great state.
Glad to see we finally have a leader willing to take on the tough problems!

NO! The democrats with their liberal bureaucracy at LAUSD have tainted the students future, by promoting shameful test results and illiteracy.
The district is more worried about celebrating culture instead of teaching. Why do you think the LAUSD teachers majority if not all, do not send their kids to an LAUSD school.

LAUSD liberal agenda:
"To promote culture and socialism in schools, disregard a good competitive education"
Yes, now you have your midget hero Villaraigosa who was an drop out and only 1.8 at UCLA. What can you expect from someone who did not take school seriously. It's like having a convicted killer advocate for society's safety.

The Republicans may be respnsible for Prop 13 but that was thrity years ago. Despite Prop 13 the Dmeocrats controlling LAUSD have still managed to pass billion dollar bond measures, with or without the voting public's consent. You would think that even if funding was limited, committed teachers and administrators would figure out some way of reducing the drop out rate below 50%. But it has remained this way since before Prop 13. Plain and simple, the Democratic Party has failed our children.

IMPORTANT STUDY, YOU MUST READ THIS:
"Study focuses on higher education
Drop in learning curve may hinder L.A. growth
By Naush Boghossian and Rachel Uranga, Staff Writers
Mexican-American children make large educational strides over their parents and grandparents, although the gains slow by the third generation - a trend that will eventually hinder economic growth in Los Angeles and other cities, a study released Thursday says..."

That statement that AV is only 5'2" is such bullshit. I am 5'9" and he is not more than 2 inches shorter than me. No way. He couldn't wear "heels" or "lifts" high enough to add 4-5 inches.
You're just freaking mean.

He is 4'10"

City Hall is generously peppered with UCLA graduates whose academic careers/skills speak for themselves.
It appears that it really doesn't take much to earn a degree there.
A lot of UCLA graduates have no real grasp of the English language, cannot write a sentence to save their life and spell horribly.
They must be handing out degrees like they do condoms at the health center.
As for Antonio.....what can I say................................He is such the media whore. When is he going to pretend to start working?
How many times does he have to ride the rail lines before he realizes that people are going to drive if they want to?
I'm sick of seeing him everywhere.
Especially where he's not invited.
He needs a hobby.
Why doesn't he aid in "the great black out of September 2005" so that he can, yet again, appear as savior on the teli!@#!&*%^
