A Call to Investigate the "Dubious Carpetbagging Ways"of Jimmy "PACman" Gomez

"The Bloggin Committee to Ban the Carpetbag(ger) in the 51st Assembly District", supports the request for a District Attorney investigation against 51st AD Candidate Jimmy "PACman" Gomez.
"Ban the Carpetbag(ger), protect an exploited Burrocrat"!!

** Blogger note: Considering the latest blatant attempt, again, to impose a carpetbagger/outsider, as the California Assembly Rep. in the 51st District. It should come as no surprise that someone like Eagle Rock Patch blogger Peter Choi, would ask for an investigation on the voter/residency filings of Jimmy "PAC" Gomez, as excerpted below.
Last week, in response to a letter submitted by this blogger, the Public Integrity Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office confirmed it had opened a case file to investigate candidate Jimmy Gomez regarding possible violations of the California Election Code’s voter residency requirements.According to his declaration of candidacy, Mr. Gomez has been registered to vote in Los Angeles County since 2006 (having been previously registered in Riverside County whence he comes).Campaign disclosure statements filed by various federal, state and local campaign committees indicate that Mr. Gomez continued to reside in Riverside County long after he re-registered to vote in Los Angeles County. These reports (attached above) disclose contributions those campaigns received from Mr. Gomez in July 2008, February 2009, February 2010, August 2010 and November 2010. Each of these disclose that his residence was in Riverside County at the time he made the contributions, not Los Angeles County as he declared in his declaration of candidacy.

Choi's post set off alarm bells quickly, with Gomez Campaign Counsultant "SG & A's" Mike Shimpock, leading the retorts in the comments section of the original post. The Gomez Team also wrote a rebuttal by a certain "Mark Gonzalez", that went nowhere, but back in their collective faces, via this "disclosure".

Mark Gonzalez,Also, while Choi is a resident and as far as I can tell not affiliated with Lopez except as a supporter based on his earlier blog post which makes that clear and why he supports Lopez, you should have made clear that you are part of the Democratic Establishment backing Jimmy Gomez - in past Patch articles alone you are described as a Field Deputy for Assembly Member Anthony Portantino, a Senior Field Rep for CA Assembly President John Perez and one quick google search landed me on the Northeast Democratic Club (who endorsed Gomez) website which lists "Mark Gonzalez" as the Vice President there, is that you? In the interest of fairness shouldn't you have made clear that you are part of the machine instead of (mis)representing yourself as just an Eagle Rocker? Your profile shows you are a first time commenter and new to the Patch which tells me and others like me that you have shown little interest in this community and our issues. Come on, be honest and be fair. Let us voters decide this with facts and not adjectives.

Thus, can we surmise that Assembly Speaker John Perez has an official (paid for with public money) Jimmy "PACman" Gomez "apologist". on payroll standby?

51st AD Candidate (via Riverside) Jimmy "PACman Laundryman"? Gomez
What should be equally worry some to 51st AD voters, is PACman's borderline money-laundry of PAC money into his campaign coffers, as highlighted by LA Weekly's Gene Maddaus.
Follow the nurse's dues money closely ...............
Some of Gomez's money, and many of his endorsements, come from elected officials who have received cash from UNAC. Among those who have received UNAC money and then endorsed Gomez are Assemblywoman Holly Mitchell, Assemblyman Ricardo Lara, Assemblyman Bob Blumenfield, Congresswoman Janice Hahn, and Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones.
Several candidates for the L.A. Community College District board have received money from UNAC and contributed to Gomez, including Miguel Santiago, Steve Veres and Scott Svonkin.

Somewhere, a "campaign washer" is on the spin cycle. Further .....
In early May, UNAC gave $20,000 to the L.A. County Democratic Party. Later that month, the party sent out a mailer, worth about $15,000, urging support for Gomez. Eric Bauman, the chair of the L.A. County Democratic Party, said there was no connection between the two.
"We don't play that way," Bauman said. "We would do stuff for Jimmy whether UNAC gave us money or didn't give us money."

....... amazing how comments get "washed", referring to "PACman Gomez" campaign finances.

But what Maddaus misses in his post, was highlighting the stigma the "carpetbagger label", has on a candidate in Northeast LA. Just ask Victor Griego,.who's political sin in 1999, was residing in South Pasadena while seeking to replace CD 14 City Councilman Richard Alatorre. Thus, how are Northeast voters going to receive the latest establishment carpetbagger from Riverside? History should provide some insight.

Your thoughts ................

Hey, wow, that was good. An entire post without the word Shallman.

Seriously, about time someone calls out Gomez on his money and address.

Too bad Chavez didn't make the cut.

Jimmy is in for a surprise on election day, he is not getting much traction in the North East communities.

Anyone who wants to know what kind of a representative Jimmy Gomez will be need look no further than the pathetic record of the most recent UNION-FINANCED carpetbagger.... Kevin de Leon.

Kevin, a union representative before running for office, "established" his residency by sleeping on someone's couch. He literally parachuted into the District with a bagful of corrupt union money to "choose" us as his constituents.

After he was elected, did anyone hear from him? No? That's because he is here to represent the special interests who elected him. He has no passion for the people he represents.

Kevin has a shocking lack of comprehension of basic government operation -- so much so that his staff has to guide his decision making. Incredibly, this complete dolt aspired to become the Speaker of the Assembly.

The only memorable thing Kevin de Leon has done is threaten the City of Vernon with its death, and then, at the last minute, extracted millions of dollars of "extortion payments" to projects in Kevin's adjoining district in exchange for Vernon's survival. Now there's a man of principles. Thanks Kevin.

If you liked Kevin de Leon's lack of representation of community values in Sacramento, you are going to LOVE what Jimmy Gomez will not do to represent this District.

No thank you to any more carpetbaggers.
