Morning briefs on the Los Angeles Political Scene for Monday
Question for City Controller Wendy Greuel, what do the likes of Martin Ludlow, Jack Weiss, Gil Cedillo, Pops Villar, some man in the Central Valley, Ruben Cortines, Corina Raigosa, UTLA, and the voters of Los Angeles all have in common? They are all the people that Mayor Antonio, soon to be again, Villar have pushed in front of the bus, after their usefulness had run its political course. And Wendy, your date with the bus may be coming soon base upon your role in CLARTSgate.
Many CD 14 observers took notice of your appearance at Councilman Huizar's Campaign Kickoff last Saturday in Boyle Heights. I'm sure that your political heart was touched when Councilman Huizar broke down in describing the efforts of his mom to provide for young Huizzy and his siblings. But no one will shed tears for you in 2013 if you do not objectively provide information that can bring CLARTSgate to a speedy resolution.
Controller Greuel will remember her visit to the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council where she worked the room and reminded the city employees present, that it was her who signed their respective paychecks. But it also her who is responsible for audits and accounting how public money is spent in the City of Los Angeles. But most important, it is her job to provide the documentation when a person requested the information, especially under the auspices of the California Public Records Act. Greuel will also remember stating that the proceeds in the CLARTS Fund were only for usage within CD 14 (please refer to Greuel's attendance in The Voice Newspaper's CLARTS Fund story).
As CLARTSgate garners more attention from objective observers in media and within the voting ranks of CD 14, it would be wise for Greuel to make all expenditures related to the CLARTS Fund available for review. Thus, ensuring that CD 14 voters can articulate an inform opinion on Councilman Huizar's oversight of the fund.
OTHER NEWS:
** LA Times City Hall Scribe David Zahniser exposes Councilman Dennis Zine's past votes on projects linked to his lobbyist squeeze Veronica Becerra. If Councilman Zine is looking beyond the horseshoe, like becoming the City Controller, his current political behavior is not going to help. But hey, he did rescue Jimmy Blackman from unemployment.
** If one wants to gauge how bad the current state of affairs are at LAUSD, take the time to read Ron Kaye's latest missive on the questionable eduaction background of Mayor Antonio Villar, whoops, LAUSD selection of "Dr." John Deasy as its next's Superintendent. But one must remember that the role of the Superintendent is to make sure that contracts not test scores, move in the right direction.
** Assemblyman Mike Gatto Political Papi Dario Frommer former boss Fransisco Leal's dubious political dealings, just cost former Ramona Gardens resident Hugo "Rebel" Argumedo his City Council seat in the City of Commerce. As we say in the hood. "You can take the homie out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out the homie".
** "WWG" Kevin Roderick continues his efforts to promote City Maven as a source of City Hall chisme. Today, the maven features a "probing" (more like accepting Parke and Mikey's spin as the truth) Q & A with CD 14 Councilman Huizar. Just wondering if Rudy Martinez will receive the same puff treatment in his Q & A to be publish online tomorrow?
** The Valley Daily News Rick Orlov break news about the numerous rats running amok at 200 Spring Street. He is referring to the ones with long tales. BTW, Mayor Antonio, soon to be again, Villar will reign as chairperson of both the MTA Board and National League of Mayors. More travel time for Villar and deal making on Measure R contracts ahead.
Your thoughts ..............

Wendy thinks Huizar is going to help her get votes when she runs for Mayor. FORGET IT. Wendy has been one of the worse Controller's the city has had. What has she done except have tea parties and go all over the city with the meida. She's lost a lot of credibility with many. Read the other web sites asking the same question who does she represent. The Jewish Foundation just gave 10 $200,00 grants to gang programs. 2 have had ex gangsters re arrested for abuse of the money in the past. Someone please let them know
The grant recipients named today:
The Advancement Project
Communities In Schools of the San Fernando Valley
Community Build Inc.
Kush Reaching Out Inc.
Legacy LA
New Directions for Youth Inc.
Toberman Neighborhood Center
A Better LA
Chapter Two
Pico Youth & Family Center, Gang Prevention & Intervention Program

There has been tremendous heat on Wendy to kill the CLARTS fund story from AV's office.

That is the word from Wendy's office. Apparently AV was on the phone with her on Friday to kill the release of the CLARTS fund information.

OH, geez, your SO well connected. Can I TOUCH you?
PFAAHHH
I'd lay 3-to-1 odds that none of of the nobody anonymous posters here, including me, could find Wendy G's office at City Hall if they had blueprints of the building.
OH, but previous poster. I'll trump your "word from" . . . I just heard from GOD, and he says you're just broken at least one (more) commandment. Expect your heart to stop cold just as soon as he gets back to his office this evening.

REad Huizar's interview with City Maven. Martines is tomorrow. Huizar hasn't done anything. Read between the lines how they are moving around gang money that is suppose to go to certain non profits but Huizar needs to gice it to his buddies. Why didn't this City Maven ask about CLARTS FUND? Every other newspapers have been asking with no answer

Councilman Smith, SLAVES WERE NOT PAID, YOU FOOT-IN-YOUR-MOUTH, A**HOLE! AND CITY EMPLOYEES ARE NOT LOCKED UP IN CHAINS AND WHIPPED, YOU STUPID SCHMUCK, GREIG SMITH!

Maeven's questions for Huizar redefined the meaning of slow pitch softball.
They are in the same category as Patt Morrison's questions for Wendy several weeks ago in the LA Times.
When will writers start asking tough questions?

Antonio's not the one saying jump, that's Parke. Tony is too stupid for such thought.
Villar, Gruel, Gatto, Huizar - all work for Parke. Wendy will stay quiet and it will bite her in the ass later.

Paul Hatfield, if the Maven interviews Rudy M. tomorrow, then I'm guessing he won't be asked any hard questions either -- about his police record, questionable business practices, police badges, etc.
I'm also guessing none of the 5-6 screaming CLARTS-heads here will mind that lack of detail.

9:41pm, You just have to come to grips the community does not want Huizar because he has already blown it as an elected official. Anything sour grape juice you try to dump on Rudy is just based on his personal life. He has not yet screwed the people. And any stuff you try to get people to care about, pales in comparison to the damage and pain Huizar has inflicted on his constituents as "The Godfather" of L.A. City Councilman. And the fact that you are his paid campaign manager doesn't really help. He needs to have some supporters post here who are not being paid by the campaign.

941 - if she fails to ask tough questions of anyone she does not deserve any attention. She may as well write for a candidate's campaign website.

I agree with Paul. The trend with these tabloid reporters is don't rock the boat. However, I like LA Weekly and blogs like Pauls' and Ron Kaye who post the facts on issues. The internet is becoming the way of news. To the poster who thinks only 6 people are going after Huizar on misuse of taxpayer dollars CLARTS FUND you're wrong. The story went all over the city and nation and aired on several newspapers and tv stations. I hear more is to come because with Huizar staying silent he's showing guilt. If you have nothing to hide come out and say it. The city clerks motions are from years ago on CLARTS that the Parke people keep posting. The residents in CD14 have big surprise for Huizar as the race gets closer. Could some developers who had bad dealings with Huizar come out as well?

10:23 - the only ones who would welcome 4 more years of Huizar are those who are benefitting financially from him being in office. Do you really think he's done the best he could for the district as a whole?

"What fiscal expenditures, may we find when the documents requested by CD 14 City Council Candidate Rudy Martinez become public?"
Really??? All of the sudden someone in city hall cares about what some reality show character thinks? Scott why must you make yourself sound that much more ignorant by pointing out facts that have no basis on reality? Just because that other "candidate" took a few minutes out of his pointless life, to contact the controller's office in an effort to practice his diplomatic abilities (OR LACK OF) does not in any way prove that ANYONE takes him seriously.
Don't try to glorify someone who at their best, will never amount to anything more than a bar owner. We all know that he already ran out of things to say, all that's left for him to do to get his name out there is to give you a call; so that you can "draft" a politically inaccurate and grammatically incorrect BS story. And quite frankly if you are the best he can do "to get his message out"… LORD HELP HIM UNDERSTAND THAT NOW IS THE TIME TO PUT HIS MONEY BACK INTO HIS SAVINGS, BECAUSE THERE IS NO CHANCE IN HELL THAT HE IS GETTING ANYWHERE NEAR CITY HALL!
Only 50 something days before reality hits him in his fat nose and he can go back to rolling sushi.
