Baca Backs Brown

-Sheriff Lee Baca, a Republican, has endorsed Jerry Brown for Governor of California. "Jerry Brown has championed the rights of crime victims, toughened criminal penalties and developed innovative crime-fighting technologies,” Baca said in the statement. “Jerry Brown has always stood with me and my deputies and I am proud to stand with him in his campaign for governor.”

-Sheriff Baca is also speaking about the 21,000 illegal immigrants he has handed over to the Feds since becoming top county cop. "The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, in conjunction with ICE [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and our county jails, have interviewed 52,591 people in our jail system arrested for crimes from murder to drunk driving."

Lee Baca, the Lucy Charm of Politics. Whoever he backs usually wins 95-98% of the time. I was undedicided, so guess Meg will lose another Latino vote.

Baca is a Democrat. He converted a few years ago. Most big city police leaders have or they act like it because the leadership of the City or the County is almost exclusively Democratic and they have to tow the party line.

Like, who would change their vote because the Sheriff???? likes Brown?

I have to agree that it makes you sound desperate, Joe.

Joe,

What did you think about Blumenthal's fumbled response when Linda McMahon asked him how you create a job?

This was in the Ct Senate debate yesterday.

To top it off, Blumenthal, WHO LIED ABOUT SERVING IN VIETNAM, said that he wants to go to Washington and "be an entrepreneur" to!

He was more believable when he was lying about serving in Vietnam.

The Chronicle's non-endorsement of Boxer is far more noteworthy than...Lee Baca's?????

But you didn't hear a peep from Joe B when the SF Chronicle said that "Boxer has not distinguished herself in 28 years in office."

But he'll tell you about.....Lee Baca????? Higby, that's okay with you?

You're "happy for Brown?"

Sounds like you're a bit on the lonely side, Joe. What middle aged man is "happy" for Jerry Brown?

Issues!!!!!!!

Should I be "not happy" for Brown?
No comprende.

Baca's endorsement is nothing more than a reflection of what a centrist dumbass, of whom there are plenty throughout the state, are thinking about the race. Centrist dumbasses, not leftwing or rightwing dumbasses, determine who wins elections. Baca going for Brown is very telling of what centrist dumbasses think. If Brown wins the centrist dumbass vote, he will certainly win.

Hey Joe,

If Red Spot endorses Brown, would you post a string about that, too?

It's about as relevant.

So Joe, with all of this information and all of these endorsements, why won't you make a prediction of how the Gov & Sen races will turn out?

You seem to indicate that you know the various factors, yet you are unwilling to go on the record with a prediction.

The experts aren't even making predictions, why would a little ole blogger like me do it?

Instead of making a prediction, can I sell you some top secret classified info about China that Christine O'Donnell gave me?

Joe, since you're in a rare mood to reply, let me ask you this.

Should someone who (a) stole someone's identity, (b) perjured herself on federal tax forms, and (c) failed to file state and federal income tax returns, be deported, jailed or permanently denied citizenship?

Or do you want her to have legal U.S. citizenship?

I'd make her a judge on American Idol. Meg, on the other hand, needs to be arrested for committing the very crimes she has railed against, and then sentenced to being Nicky's housekeeper for 9 years.

Higby is right Baca might be registered Republican but he has endorsed every Democrat for office for some time including Phil Angelides, Obama, Feinstein, Boxer, Laurette Healey, Krekorian, Mark Ridley Thomas, Fabian Nunez, Hilda Solis, Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom and many others. He also supports all the bonds and taxes on the ballot. If he is Republican he is RINO.
