Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Wednesday
Poor Matt Szabo! The Deputy Mayor and former Mayoral spokeshole has been doing the bidding of the Mayor for a very long time. In fact we've been told that Szabo doesn't break wind without first checking with the Mayor and then getting an all clear from Mike Trujillo. But we digress. We've been worried about Szabo's condition having worked for Villaraigosa for several years. Now poor Matt got upbraided by Jan Perry in Clowncil Tuesday when he was all tongue tied over his presence at a DWP meeting. More from Mulholland Terrace.
Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes is known for carrying the water for lobbyists and special interests in Sacramento having passed some 11 lobbyist written bills. He's also received tens of thousands of dollars in contributions from these interests. Now the Daily News asks nicely "Please stop." If anyone is actually working over there, maybe the Daily News might want to look at the independent expenditures some other Assembly members (including a recently elected one) have benefited from and watch what bills they pass.
If you thought Jan Perry giving Matt Szabo a "what for" in chambers Tuesday was fun, our very favorite spokes-hole, Jeremy Oberstein of Paul Krekorian's office tweeted Council Member Dennis Zine and former DWP GM David "The Green Cowboy" Freeman's dialogue from a comical tragedy known "Freeman and the Zine."
The comedy continues on Spring Street. CMs Bill Rosendahl and Paul Koretz have introduced legislation allowing the number of cats one household may own to be increased from three to five cats. Though I don't believe in such laws to begin with, who the hell needs five cats? I am glad however these esteemed legislators are on top of this pressing issue of such concern to all of Los Angeles.
We all know how the Mayor has managed to solve so many problems in Los Angeles that he has the bandwidth to add one more duty to his job description, that is the ability to perform weddings. Currently California law only allows Mayors to perform weddings if temporarily deputized by the County Clerk. A bill brought by San Francisco Assemblymember Fiona Ma would have given Villaraiogsa such power but alas it was vetoed by Governor Schwarzenegger. His reasoning? The law only extended to charter city mayors and not all of California's mayors and gosh darn it we want any mayor in California to have the right to goof off right?

Phil Jennerjahn doesn't believe in freedom for anyone other than himself.
Jennerjahn doesn't believe in Steven Box's right ot pursue the religion, or non-religion, of his choice.
Jennerjahn doesn't believe in Higby's freedom of speech to write about it.
Jennerjahn doesn't believe in peoples' freedom to have different political views than his own. Then again, neither does Joe B.
Both are bullies in their respective ways.
Higby, why do you hate people of color, and treat them differently than "regular" white people?
What is it about melanin in someone's skin makes you think that any one individual is better or more worthy than another based on this criteria?
Phil Jennerjahn recently entered the World Series of Poker, which requires a $10,000 buy-in.
Since it is well established that Phil, who doesn't believe in freedom of religion (unless it's HIS religion), works only part-time as a clown and tour guide, it's rather obvious that he gets a HUGE financial boost from his family each month.

In the same way that Phil demands that Steven Box should denounce Scientology (which he may or may not belong to), Phil needs to then explain to us how he gets money for poker, but can't get money for the recall.

Tell us how many signatures you got for all of the donations you pocketed? Or is INFORMATION yet another FREEDOM you don't believe in?
Michael, PLEASE for the LOVE of MAN... stop this Jennerjahn stuff. It's very annoying reading through the comments and seeing so much of them about him. It's Phil posting them to keep his name out there. Stop supporting him.
Some comments have great points, and lead me to great information. But when you have 30 comments on a post, 20 about phil, 3 about red spot's grammar, I get annoyed.

A racist is someone who thinks he is superior to others of races other than his own. Walter Moore thinks he is superior to everyone so he could not be a racist.
Well Bill and Mr. Potato Head need something to do and to keep their staff's busy. So cats it is, considering all the pressing financial issues and ignoring the 47% of parking tickets that don't get paid and those hundreds yes hundreds of millions of unpaid fees from the parking lot owners, cats seems like a nice diversion for real work.
I applaud this blog for exposing Phil Jennerjahn for the restrictive, suffocating scum bag that he is.

This hypocrit needs to be exposed. He obviously embraces freedom only in instances that apply to those who agree with him.
I am no fan of Joe B, who I agree is a bully, but Phil attacks those who disagree with his childish world view.

I think that for now given that Phil has come out and said he was wrong about Stephen Box (though he has yet to issue a formal apology) we're pretty much done with Phil.

He looked like this BEFORE he went to work for Villaraigosa, although it's odd how everyone who works for Antonio eventually comes to look this bug-eyed and freaky anyways.
What happened to the FREEDOM of the PRESS?
These major LA news papers only report on the superficial substance relative to subjects which will have a lasting affect on all Angelenos. Angelenos needs LA Weekly to conduct a thorough investigation into Los Angeles DWP long history of waste, abuse, and deceit including past and present politicians.
