Some "Cut and Paste Advise" regarding the CLARTS Fund Controversy in CD 14

"Arrrr, those pesky cut and pasters are now focus on the CLARTS Fund"
There are times when the "cut and pasters" nail a solution to a political controversy that needs a resolution. With no further ado's, here is the common sense solution to the CLARTS Fund Controversy.
From "In the Know Says ......"
If I were the council member I would have provided a small report that said the following:
Fund Created: Date Created in 2004
Fund Income:
FY 03/04 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 04/05 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 05/06 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 06/07 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 07/08 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 08/09 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 09/10 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 10/11 = $ x,xxx.00
Total Income: $x,xxx,xxx.00
Fund Expenditures:
FY 03/04 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 04/05 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 05/06 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 06/07 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 07/08 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 08/09 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 09/10 = $xxx,xxx.00
FY 10/11 = $ x,xxx.00
Total Expenditures: $ xxx,xxx.00
Fund Balance as of 6/30/10: $ x,xxx,xxx.00
Summary of Motions:(List of Motions with dollar amounts)
This is what a good council member would have provided, especially if there is nothing to hide.
Directing someone to the spending side of the fund is only half an answer, at best, but TRULY appears like an effort to avoid being accountable for the fund.
It is unfortunate, because SECRECY is what is hurting Antonio and his tickets, and this too will bite Jose in the butt.
Stay tuned for more train wrecks from Jose and Ana......

Succinct and to the point. Now if only Huizar would do the obvious.
Your thoughts..............

Watergate was a "boring" and "minor issue" until it wasn't.

Nixon's downfall was trying to cover it up, and underestimating the potential blowback.

11:02 PM thinks government money is boring at a time when there is not enough to go around. Must be a Huizar supporter!

Every small problem in CD 14 could have some chance of being fixed by THE COUNCILMAN if he would use these funds.

Overtime money to police and building and safety and department of health to get rid of all those illegal taco stands that pop up at night in Boyle Heights for example.

Or extra staff hours at the libraries in the district so our kids can enjoy this summer out of the heat.

Or even better, more money to our parks so that the staff can do things with our kids to keep them active and safe.

So 11:02pm what coverage would keep you awake???? Don't tell me you are one of those constituents that wants to know where the Councilman was late last night and with whom and eating what and paying how much or did he even pay for it.

I prefer finding out how many hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions does CD 14 have and it is not using on us, CD 14 residents.

Wake up, money is important to public service. Without it, all you are is a councilman blowing hot air.

There will only be a "major scandal" about this if someone with big bucks runs against Huizar next year, and can afford to hire the same type of hit squads that Jose himself has used on past adversaries. If they can play it up to brain-dead local media (who don't know a council file from a nail file), then maybe it can be used to throw enough mud.

Use the CA Public Records act to its fullest including separate requests to various Departments.

Note the appropriate language and deadlines and potential lawsuits. This is important!

Read it; learn it; practice it. If necessary use a lawyer or at least get sample letters.

This is getting old already! WAY too much CD 14, I have to say though it's my guilty pleasure to read these comments because in following them it's so obvious to see which ones are written by Jose's frantic staff who are running around trying to cover their a... just so that they can have hope that they will keep their job! So pathetic!!!
