Times digital scribes found the opportunity to break a big story Saturday night. The Mayor broke his elbow riding his bike after a local jitney stopped short causing Villaraigosa to go airborne. Perfect timing for bicycle activist and billy goat Council candidate Stephen Box.
You might not know the name but you should recognize the face. Character actor James Gammon died at the age of 70 Friday. Known for television series such as Nash Bridges and movies such as Urban Cowboy Gammon was also a recurring component in many Sam Shephard plays. Shephard as a playwright has a seeming inability to find new locales and fresh language for his dismay at America's downward trajectory. However he once played banjo on Patti Smith's cover of Nirvana's song, "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
Pasty white and even pastier white talkradio ringmasters will alight from their perches: Republican Assemblyman Mike Villines is finally named the winner in the scary party's nomination for State Insurance Commissioner. Villines took the full brunt of the conservative agitprop talkshows when he broke with a GOP pledge 0f no new taxes.
Peach ice cream is the story of the day at LAist. In true Westside myopic fashion of course the best servings are to be found near Caruso's Art Deco Wonderland at Mr. Gilmore's Farmers Market. Nothing however when compared to the que rico paletas at Danny's Tacos on Grand Avenue; something that the más blanca que el blanco bocas at LAist have not likely ever experienced.

How about adding to this morning update the fact that Joe B. is trying to ruin Clean Sweep on Day One because he has a stick up his ample arse about Walter Moore?

I don't care if you post text every second or third day, but it's time to let Joe B. and Red Spot go, and just have you as the only contributor. Even if it's just every second or third day.
Joe B. has an agenda and has proven to be a bully. Yesterday is the perfect example. He is willing to take down the Clean Sweep project because he doesn't like Walter Moore.
And Red Spot writes almost exclusively about CD14, plus reading his thoughts is truly like reading a child's essay.
You dumped Phil Jennerjahn, Haikula, and Zuma Dogg. Please add Joe B. and Red Spot to the list. Just post your own stuff every few days and people will be happier and it'll be less aggravating for you.
The others can make their own blogs.
If you don't believe as I do that the readership will be happier, take a poll, but do it so that Joe and Scott can't stuff the ballot box.

Higby you quickly have to condemn Walter Moore and insist Ron Kay remove him from Clean Sweep. If you fail to do so then you support his racist effort. That proves you're a racist. That means we then have to make things very hard on you.
LAVC EVENT WITH KERRY VILLARAIGOSA AND THE CHIEF HIMSELF-MICHAEL TRUJILLO
Villaraigosa volunteer advance man Michael Trujillo dug into his pocket recently to keep Hahn supporters hot and thirsty at a Los Angeles Valley College rally on a warm Saturday afternoon.
The event was for Villaraigosa to get an endorsement from Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.
But, when about 50 chanting Hahn demonstrators showed up, there was a visible angst among the councilman's supporters.
Rather than engage in the group handwringing, Trujillo took action.
Spotting a nearby vendor who was being surrounded by the Hahn supporters, Trujillo paid $300 to buy all the water and soda the vendor had available.
"It was hot out," Trujillo said. "I figured it was better off going to our people."
The Villaraigosa campaign also stalled the start of the event and then had almost every elected official on hand make remarks until the Hahn demonstrators tired and left the event

The mayor was somewhat less chivalrous after the event, when reporters asked him why so many public-school children had been whisked away from their lessons to watch an inherently political event — one featuring a cast of elected officials, union leaders and a banner with the words “Middle Class Tax Cut” printed on it 26 times. Villaraigosa argued that the endorsement gave students a handy civics lesson, even as he threw the school’s administrators under the proverbial bus by saying he played no role in denying the students instructional time.
“I didn’t choose to take the kids out of class. The school did,” he declared.
Officials at L.A. Unified were deeply unhappy with that explanation, saying they themselves learned about the endorsement event late Friday from Foshay principal Veronique Wills, who in turn told them that she had been contacted by Michael Trujillo, a member of the mayor’s privately funded school-reform-campaign team, who assured her that use of the campus had already been cleared by the district. “The request for students was not made by the district or the school,” district spokeswoman Lucy Okumu said curtly. Trujillo confirmed that he called Wills, but insisted he gave no orders. Either way, Foshay administrators drew the line at the midday request by the Angelides camp for even more kids to fill the auditorium
Aware of the political hostilities swirling in the air, Trujillo, who is Villaraigosa's volunteer driver on weekends, said he declared his party "Switzerland.
Trujillo was the one who, unwilling to defend Measure B on the merits, filed a lawsuit calling Ron Kaye and the other opponents liars. Remember? Trujillo actually tried to keep their argument off the ballot. The Judge didn't fall for Trujillo's "liars" ploy and, happily, neither did enough of the voters to pass that measure.
Walter, the video speaks volumes about your hatred of Latinos. Stop trying to divert attention to Trujillo. You bring shame to Clean Seep.

Trujillo and SG&A will be working to save the quite troubled Jose Huizar; they are scared to death of opponent Rudy Martinez.
They can't call Martinez, a Mexican, anti-Latino. So perhaps he hates "teh gheys." Maybe, just maybe, Trujillo will exercise the nuclear option and call Martinez a pocho.

trujillo's mom is a long time operative for zev. and we know how he rolls.
Why piling on Walter Moore when his running mate, Crazy Cockney, David Berger, Rumpole of the Barley, was there yesterday and is WAY more anti- Latino than Walter is. Berger made crazy comments on this blog for months and continued to do so after the election, including with Kevin James on that pasty kook's show.
If anyone actually LISTENED to him, they'd be WAY more horrified, but the difference is, Walter's video IS getting attention. His video is less about the Spanish LANGUAGE but about how the tacky Spanish signs and TJ architecture, cheap gaudy cement structures with illegals crowding into them, throwing trash on the streets, has ruined L A and is ruining America.
We in California used to be known for drab if tidy mini-malls, Valley girl middle class mediocrity with good, safe schools. Who thinks that what we've got now is a "more colorful and vibrant" alternative? While these Latinos breed without thought to whether they can afford to raise their kids right, it's a macho fertility thing, whites LIKE Walter are having one or no kids, the costs are just too great while we have to subsidize the Latinos. They have even ruined the schools and neighborhoods of the westside and Valleys, they look more and more like what Walter is showing.
Berger is shoeshine boy for Trutanich who feels EXACTLY the same as Moore and Berger, as do his core followers yet they get a total pass from Fatboy Higby and even Joe B. Though Joe DID hang up on Berger as I heard it on his radio show, when he got too crazy over the anti-Krekorian rants.
Oh and Berger was wearing his Nuch t-shirt and cap gearing up for some future election as King of the Stupid, suburban Fat Old Guys, Redneck Teabaggers with Major Anger Management Issues. Pitiful.
Berger actually hopes his Clown will move up so HE can be CA, hanging on his shoestrings.
At least Walter's his own man, not a nasty, vile kiss-ass, like him or hate him. And once in a while he makes sensible legal arguments.
I'm not a Democrat and I hate the Latino-centric politicians both Latino AND old leftie whites, whose PC has dragged us all down. I'd vote for a good Republican, if what we had weren't half-literate arrest-mad buffoons or senile old developers who already HAD their day and ran up the pensions they're blaming others for now.
But what I hate MORE is hypocrisy where you love illegal, back-stabing, power-grabbing Trutanuch and Berger the Barker, as well as their polar opposite Krekorian (though Berger was doing his nasty for Essel there on Nuch's behalf), but hate on Moore.
This alone tells me Clean Sweep is going nowhere but for the shoals. Like Ron admits, it's all Anarachy but that doesn't run cities.
When Tritanich goes back to being a wage whore for rich criminals and rapists and polluting companies in Long Beach, will the shirt and hat his flunkie Berger was wearing yesterday, sell for even a buck at the new Dodgers Flea Market?

None? Oh, that's what I thought. He swears it isn't partisan until it comes to backing a candidate.
So like secession was ruined by the Democrats, now Clean Sweep will be also. They know that although 60% of the City of Los Angeles are registered Dems, they just keep trying to put in all Republicans.
