Jennerjahn Evasive When Asked About His Intelligence
Phil Jennerjahn continues to claim he intends to run for City Council in the 4th District (Tom LaBonge) despite the fact that several other candidates are running or considering running, each of whom already have bases of support across the City. Some of them also bring significant resources to the table.
Phil has no base of support and no resources other than a part time income as a tour guide. A handful of pot activists may be on board but it takes an army to come even close to winning a Council race. Ask Ty Vahedi or Paul Krekorian.
I quizzed Phil on Facebook Monday given his likelihood of not winning and his candidacy only serving as a distraction to someone who can actually beat Tom LaBonge would he be willing to sacrifice his desires for the good of the city.
He did not answer my question and called me a Freedom Hating Liberal.
He later followed this up with more slander of CD4 candidate Stephen Box.
The more I think about it the more I'm convinced Phil has hidden cameramen following him and his whole journey here in LA politics is one strange Borat like attempt to create a mockumentary.
Or, I hate to say, Phil is just stupid.

Otherwise, can someone other than a Phil-Anon alter ego provide an example of a single, solitary instance where Phil J. has exercised sound, rational judgement in his "public" life?

In fact, and for the record, Box did categorically deny that he is or has ever been a Scientologist. He does not practice any religion. When I asked him if he had any religious affiliation at all, that was when he told me that he was probably still a registered Nazarene--the faith of his parents. My quote is 100% accurate, and the problem Phil has with the word "probably" is all Phil's and certainly was not mine. It seemed silly to me after such a categorical denial of an accusation that has only been made by Phil Jennerjahn and nobody else to include any further discussion at this time.
As for me lobbing Stephen Box softballs, I did not. I asked him intricate questions about people in the city. I asked him if he had heard of so-and-so and so-and-so, people I believe contribute in a meaningful way to city life (for instance, he told me he didn't know who Bill Delvac was).
If I could figure out what Phil Jennerjahn is running for this week I'd probably interview him again too.
The whacking has only begun on Phil, and he deserves every bit of it.
For a brief period in my life, I became an evangelical Christian (though by birth and now once again by choice a mainline protestant) and I went to the same church as Michael Trujillo. I was baptized by the same minister who baptized Trujillo but eventually went back to the family flavor of Christianity.
My baptism is probably still on file there. But it wouldn't make me still an evangelical. Box was saying basically the same thing.
But now that Phil not only did not get his way but he has been outed as liar he won't apologize.
STILL BRANDING PEOPLE. DEMOCRACY IS ABOUT EVERYONE HAVING A CHANCE TO VOICE THEIR OPINION AND RUN FOR OFFICE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO BE THAT IF YOU HAVE MONEY AND KNOW HOW TO TURN ENOUGH SUCKERS INTO CASH COWS YOU WILL BE ELECTED. IF YOU DON'T LIKE PHIL DON'T VOTE FOR HIM. ANYONE WITH PLANS AND IDEAS AND THE SKILL TO MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN, SHOULD HAVE THE SAME PLAY FIELD AS THE MANUPULATORS THAT GET INTO OFFICE.
What Jennerjahn ("J") has done is use the classical mud slinging technique of making a false accusation and seeing if it would stick. It is a desperate attempt and if he had any money, negative campaigning and mud slinging can work.
But "J" has done more than that - he is using Religious persecution as a tactic even though Mr. Box is not a Scientologist.
When John F Kennedy ran for President, his opposition and those with hatred of Catholics circulated the message that Kennedy would take his direction from the Pope if he was elected. And then Kennedy had to address that issue.
But "J" is hanging on to this issue even with a denial from Mr. Box. So no matter how Box responds, he loses under the "J" Rules.
Ironically, "J" is Catholic.
But "J" has accomplished something - Since he has nothing to offer, he has gotten his name active in the Blogsphere just by us talking about it.
I don't know if Jennerijahn is stupid or has A.D.D.
He was a failure early on his recall campaign against the Mayor. He also was running for US Congress but was a quitter before getting off to a start.
Now he has flipped again to something else and decided to run for City Council in CD 4 but instead of offering solutions, he is attacking one candidate, Stephen Box.
What problems can he identify and what solutions does he propose for CD 4? And he needs to focus on local issues, not Federal or philosophical/abstract issues. He needs to address issues in the purview of the City Council.
Pay attention to one thing at a time, Phil, you can barely do that. Don't get distracted once again!
