Ten Things You May Not Know About Tamar

Here's some fresh meat. Blog away dum dums!

  1. Has completed two L.A. marathons, five triathlons, and lots of 10Ks.
  2. Is the only officeholder at LAUSD or City of L.A. to have rejected a government car, opting to drive her own.
  3. Participates in City’s composting program, shade tree promotion, and million tree initiative.
  4. Has prosecuted more than 230 criminal cases in this community.
  5. As a Neighborhood Prosecutor in Van Nuys, works daily with LAPD to solve Valley problems. In the past 7 years, has worked on almost 500 problems in CD 2.
  6. Her two children go to LAUSD public schools.
  7. Will not accept contributions from developers with projects in CD2.
  8. Has placed 2nd and 3rd at the Temple Beth Hillel (in Valley Village) 5K the past two years; can't wait for next year's rematch.
  9. Loves to bake cookies, cupcakes, and brownies, but can't roll out pie crust if her life depended on it.
  10. On latest DWP bill, her energy usage is down 20% from a year ago, and her water use is down 40% from a year ago—so why is her bill so much larger than last year?

And the one thing you should know about Chris Essel.

She does not live in CD2.

If she can't make pie, she's not my candidate, sorry.

If Chris gets in she will live in CD2 and Joe B will no longer.

Higby who is Joe B supporting?

Tamar won't accept money from developers in CD 2, but the same developers have projects in all the other districts.

Is she joking with us?

So now that she is running for CD 2, if (and that is a huge if) she were to win (lololol), it's okay for her to okay projects in CD 7, CD 6, CD 5, CD 12 or CD 3?

I am glad she runs.

Who cares about baking? Yawner.

1. Has completed two L.A. marathons, five triathlons, and lots of 10Ks.

That's great.

2. Is the only officeholder at LAUSD or City of L.A. to have rejected a government car, opting to drive her own.

Because she knew she was going to be running for CD 2 and she knew cars were a hot button issue.

3. Participates in City’s composting program, shade tree promotion, and million tree initiative.

Excellent. I would regardless, but I especially would if I were planning on running for office.

4. Has prosecuted more than 230 criminal cases in this community.

Bullshit.

5. As a Neighborhood Prosecutor in Van Nuys, works daily with LAPD to solve Valley problems. In the past 7 years, has worked on almost 500 problems in CD 2.

Duh. As she was preparing to run. So it's no wonder none of the school board problems were solved. She was too busy prosecuting. When does she see her kids?

6. Her two children go to LAUSD public schools.

As they should. Again, as they had to since she was running before they entered, she had no choice but to enroll them or her chances of winning would have been worse. Jon Lauritzen's kids went to LAUSD and his daughter teaches there. Did Tamar care when her kid wasn't even in school yet? All 3 of Julie Korenstein's kids went to LAUSD and her daughter is a psychologist there. She never used that as a reason to get elected. I don't know about Tokofsky's kids or Huizar's but do the rest of them even have them? Marlene didn't. Does Monica? Tamar, you were digging for something here. Not good enough.

7. Will not accept contributions from developers with projects in CD2.

Council members can vote on any planning issue in any district. What will she do then? Who would she listen to?

8. Has placed 2nd and 3rd at the Temple Beth Hillel (in Valley Village) 5K the past two years; can't wait for next year's rematch.

Again, that is really good for her.

9. Loves to bake cookies, cupcakes, and brownies, but can't roll out pie crust if her life depended on it.

As if we care? Is that the best trivia she can come up with? What is her favorite casserole? Can she make a killer brisket?

10. On latest DWP bill, her energy usage is down 20% from a year ago, and her water use is down 40% from a year ago—so why is her bill so much larger than last year?

I guess she's not smart enough to realize we had a rate increase. She was too busy prosecuting truant kids to pay attention to the DWP crisis. How will she handle that later?

Tamar, you really shouldn't have been so open about it when you were running for school board. Most of us hate stepping stones. School board was nothing but a stepping stone for her.

It's too bad boring can't win because Mary is smart enough to do it.

That leaves Zuma.

I would love, love, love to see a Zuma/Paul runoff.

That would be the best!

Go Zuma..

Higby,

There is a lot at stake for my end of CD2. M Benson is my choice to represent us properly. Whether she entertains you enough is irrelevant, especially since you do not live in CD2.

You need to be out working to find someone reasonable to run against LeBong, since the Al Bundy of City Hall thinks his next 6 are free and clear.

Most importantly, make sure whoever you pick is entertaining enough for you.

Ohhh, now you trying to assert your heritage to the many Jewish residents of CD2?

Everyone knows you are a self-hating Jew and run away from the community unless it serves you.

Really, serve some real time and learn how to swim before jumping in with the big kids. You don't know how to play this game.

Do you mean that neighborhood prosecutors get take-home cars assigned to them? If they do, and she turned it down, did she take the $500 a month allowance instead?

Do school board members get cars?

August 18, 2009 12:15 PM

Never mind cars for prosecutors.

Trutanich told the Times editorial board in their interview/ tea posted yesterday under Opinion, that he's now got over two dozen private investigators doing who knows what, and is upset they have to drive their own cars (with reimbursement, of course).

He insists they'll all get take home cars that "it's just a matter of time." Those lazy-ass Op Ed people never questioned why that's so important to him when his dept. is millions in the red every month just meeting payroll (as came out) and other depts. and the real cops are cutting back?

One of the first things he told the Daily News and it was covered in Witness LA as a feature, is he wants to add 200 private investigators with their own cars, fancy equipment and gadgets and so on. Seems his way of offering jobs as payback for PPL's support. But the lazy ass media never covers any of it.

The PPL's biased propaganda sheet/ daily 'newswatch' has a nasty hit piece on Bratton written by their own pseudonymous 'Dunphy.' Can those goons led by Weber be any more blatant, no wonder they're backing other goons like Trutanich, Zine and Cooley. They all even look alike.

so is Tamar bothering to knock on doors and walk precincts? Chris will not waste her time doing this as she had the bucks to get her message out without wearing out her shoes. Tamar better have several pair because thats the only way she can win. No one is giving her the money to get her message to the voters. Only Chris has what it takes: Money!
