Tom McClintock tells it straight

Congressman Tom McClintock warns that the Waxman-Markey energy bill, known as "Cap and Trade" is extremely destructive. Listen to the part where he talks about California going for this liberal fantasy of controlling emissions, and its promises of "an explosion of green jobs". Instead, California got skyrocketing unemployment.

I really don't get this stance. Haven't we learned that the best thing about the market economy is it's ability to react? SHouldn't we be pushing for the cap and trade, then sit back and watch our economy react to it?

Limbaugh actually had something interesting to say - the folks pushing this cap and trade are Wall Street. When Obama's enviro friends found out they've been bamboozled they'll be pissed!

Saying that our investment in green jobs caused our recession is silly and not true. Our deregulated real estate finance market caused the recession, the sort of deregulation McClintock has always supported.

I have never understood how a guy who has been on the public dime his entire career could hate government so much.

That is a ridiculous statement. We haven't gotten to the point with those "emissions" investments where we are ready to hire all the green jobs we'll need. Leave it to Tom "I hate recycling" McClintock to say that.

This is the same man who bitches about government cars while still driving his 20 year old gas guzzler, but he lets his mother drive his government car!
