Nativo López alleges DA conspiracy

Activist Nativo López was charged Thursday with fraudulent voter registration, fraudulent document filing, perjury, and fraudulent voting, all related to a ballot cast in the 2008 presidential primary.

Investigators in the [Secretary of State] election-fraud unit said Nativo V. Lopez, 57, of Santa Ana leased office space in Boyle Heights and registered to vote using that address although he lived with his family in Orange County. They also say Lopez, president of the Mexican American Political Assn., cast an illegal ballot in L.A. in the 2008 presidential primary.

López calls the felony accusations baseless and tells La Opinión he’s the target of a politically-motivated LA County DA. (Rough translation)

They are going to have to justify their claims and their charges and I will have the opportunity to defend myself. … I will stress is that there is a lot of political motivation in the bottom of these allegations, there is no doubt that as a public figure I have been at the forefront of many controversial causes.

Twelve years ago, the Orange County DA investigated allegations that López registered non-citizens to vote. Charges were never filed.

I have no doubt that Steve Cooley is a rightwing, vindictive SOB hiding behind all kinds of b.s. to justify his behavior as the voice of God himself. Just 2 weeks ago, AFTER the election, he still felt the need to smear Jack Weiss to Kevin James, telling him "this was a race between good and evil," and making all kinds of baseless allegations. As he, Zine and Trutanich's campaign manager John Thomas, and especially that crazy- vindictive Berger, have also done all along and continue to do. This is all part of their plan to "get" Antonio -- and they make no bones about him as their target.

All of which has to do with their focus on illegals. Something I could otherwise support at least to a reasonable degree BUT for the fact that they are so over-the-top hostile about it, making crazy allegations like if Weiss won he'd "make the streets safe for illegals" as Antonio's wingman (the term they love to use is more derogatory, we know what it is.)

There is NO way a DA who's this fantatical and rabidly biased should have had ANY say in who is elected LA CITY attorney -- the fact that there's no real media left gave him, Zine, and their rightwing faction along with the rightwing talkshows, a perfect hole to jump through. (Combined with Antonio's own misreading of tea leaves on Measure B and how he mishandled that issue, providing a cause for the opposition to mobilize against, and then using that organization against HIM in general.)

I have no sympathy for voter fraud of course, but devoting this amount of resources to a guy who registered to vote where he works and IS a citizen, over other far more pressing criminal activity? Even conservatives smell something very fishy here, see it as a first step on a vendetta designed to embarrass Antonio and the Latinos by mere implication even where there's no connection, which gets closer and closer to its target.

And the Sanchez case: I don't know if he's guilty or not, tend to think the FBI isn't stupid and they're involved. But insofar as they could be following the lead of this vindictive DA Steve Cooley, and since Sanchez is being linked to the Latino pols incl. Antonio just because they gave his group Homies United support and money for its work (anti-Antonio Weekly playing up Antonio's name in its headline of the story, prompting an LAPD detective to comment that that was at best sloppy journalism designed to implicate by innuendo), I'd say we're seeing the beginning of the "Trutanich era."

Because Trutanich is totally beholden to Cooley for his job, from getting him to run to the endorsements to the fundraising and Cooley is STILL calling all the shots. E.g. I heard Trutanich tell McIntyre last week or so that if there was no money for the 7 outside staffers, he could make do with the best among the 650 lawyers already on City Attorney staff.

BUT McIntre and Kevin James screamed "NO WAY!" and on a Kevin James show, I heard Cooley swear to Kevin James that he would MAKE Trutanich hold steady on the course of insisting on the outside staff -- handpicked by Cooley --
"to go after City Hall corruption," i.e., his vendetta against Antonio. He's circling closer and closer ALREADY.

Why is it such a big deal to say his name with a Spanish accent. Granted, Villar, his true name now Raigosa has flown the coup, will be much easier to pronounce.

I bet you strain to perfect your French pronunciations, why not Spanish?

It's amazing how subtle racism all rears it's ugly head - especially among the self denial group.

12:13: you're absolutely right about Cooley and his relationship to Trutanich and their agenda. I've also listened to those shows as part of my research for a Democratic potential candidate (no, not Antonio) because Democrats are just totally unaware of what goes on in those airwaves. The extent of it.

There's no doubt that it's more than just partisan politics going on here. Cooley and Trutanich have a long and lucrative history of pay-to-play with the USC jocks just being the tip of the iceberg. (The NCAA investigating Reggie Bush was prompted partly by several jocks having Trutanich on speed-dial a few years back, that period from June-Nov. 05 working for Rocky being the center of it.) Only because Nuch's daughter didn't get into SC did he quit.

More serious are the toxic polluters they're defending -- when a topnotch female Asst. DA in charge of toxic enforcement got too close to some cherished donors Cooley pulled her off and made her feel her career was at jeopardy, causing her to work in a similar capacity for the feds. But everyone is too afraid of Cooley's retaliation to go too public. If anyone's afraid of their files being uncovered, it's them. (Nuch defending Rocky in at least one litigation that means he's got enough on him to keep Rocky quiet.)

Cooley, Trutanich (and Zine, when he's in his real element) couch their rhetoric in overblown "good vs. evil," "We slew the philistine and are bringing in the forces of light" (Trutnaich to SOHA etc.), and no end of demagoguery to Kevin James. It's a conservative Catholic spin (which also plays to some Latinos ticked off with Antonio), the kind of thing where you make a huge show of going to mass and kissing the Cardinal's ring while doing what you want, knowing you can "confess" and say some hail-mary's to appease your conscience. (The Corleone syndrome.)

To make it look less Catholic, they've got that maddog Berger who says he's Jewish, and suckered a bunch of old Jewish people on the westside and valley into thinking Trutanich could give a damn about their billboards and development issues. Combined with Antonio's people being tone-deaf to Measure B and the anti-City Hall sentiment from public and much of the media, which didn't investigate Trutanich as they would have before their staffs were stripped down to newbies, it was all a "perfect storm."

What Cooley and Trutanich don't like is that people are still watching them. They and Trutanich's clan have tried to threaten critics, saying literally "we got in (by lies, dirty tricks and clever court-room theatrics to deflect from truth) and now STFU, if you can't say only nice things about Uncle Nooch we'll make you," but Nuch and Cooley have had to tell them to cool it. Don't make it so obvious. Let them work more surreptitiously. MAYBE Lopez (and Sanchez?) are telling the truth, it would fit in with their plan.

This isn't really about Lopez, but about exposing major insidious stuff. All those naive people who were duped into believing Nuch is the Second Coming are so in for a rude awakening, if they awaken.

12:13/52: debating whether Rosendahl is racist or just stupid is moot. He's a dangerously stupid fool who's now threatening to run for Feinstein's Senate seat, figuring all the other candidates would be stupider than himself.

Looking at today's council meeting as likely candidates, he's got a point -- with the smart ones gone, it was just Hahn, LaBonge, Zine, Rosendahl doing most of the talking. A bigger bunch of fools and morons you couldn't find at a convention of Hoover vacuum cleaner salesmen, except that this bunch has much bigger egos.

And yes it's tiresome that Billy keeps telling us to see him as just another guy who happens to be gay when every day he's calling attention to it. Today he spent a whole hour on LGBT ceremonies. Janice ended by celebrating Tommy LaBonge as Marshall High's Alumnus of the Year. (The highest honor Tommy should ever vie for, being over his level of competence now.)

What's even more phony is Zine jumping in as though he cared on Rosendahl's gay stuff (don't make me think of his SM leather Harley getup in the gay rights parade).

Pandering to a demographic his Republican platform is naturally opposed to, like why he co-sponsored the motion Wednesday with Cardenas and Alarcon to urge Obama to fasttrack "normalization" of illegals. The citizenship without consequences route that he tells rightwing radio he opposes.

Only thing worse than an idiot is a self-serving hypocrite. WHERE does he think he's going on his career trajectory? He's old, bald and dumb and riding the coattails now of Trutanich and Cooley, Baca, the PPL's Weber, the Republicans.

Do they figure it's time for one of THEM to run for Senate, maybe?
Between Zine and Rosendahl, it would be a painful choice. Except the two of THEM have formed an alliance (with Hahn and sometimes even Garcetti) of odd bedfellows for now. To get rid of their mutual front challenger Antonio, before going at each other?

Maybe the allegations against Nativo Lopez are correct. The next question is whether they plea bargain or go to trial for all the marbles.

The Trutanich haters (or singular but multi-posting here) are still letting Rocky make his slimy move to install another million dollars worth of salary into permanent positions instead of leaving them as appointees. But you'd think the council was on some heavy partaking of medical marijuana themselves for all the praise they heaped on him.

Zuma Dogg gave them a truer picture of Rocky and the most they should have said was, "Good Luck, Rocky." The Council gets into an autopilot mode and dumps out praise-on-demand for anything. This just showed that they were either totally insincere or complete jackasses.

THAT should move be another of the torpedoes that will be launched when makes his Attorney General bid.

Dear Inferior Douchearigosa Spinloser Who Couldn't Even Win An NC Election At This Point,

I know you are only here to be a continuous, non-stop, divisive force to try and besmirch Nuch for the next four years, no matter what results are produced...

AND I HOPE YOU KEEP IT UP:

Because currently, the elected official who has not even taken office yet is taking something you no-class thug-dummies know about:

CLASS and the high road.

Now, you can sit there and keep piling on...and you will holler one too many bullshit lies;

AND THE GLOVES WILL BE OFF, AND YOU WILL BE CRUSHED BY THE OPPONENT YOU ARE PUSHING TO THE LIMIT.

Personally, I think it will be a lot of fun to watch.

You will discount this and laugh at it and scoff at it and continue with your inferior-minded, non-effective strategy that has caused you to LOSE, LOSE, LOSE everything you touch. YOU ARE SO OLD-SCHOOL AND OBSOLETE.

I am simply here to tell you, I feel your plan to "pile on" with shit that crosses the line, will make it fun to watch when you poke bear with stick, one too many times.

OH, I CANNOT WAIT.

Because ZD knows you will not be able to help yourself, and you will cause your opponent to have to get out there and defend himself and the people close to him who you are attacking in such an insidious way.

I KNOW YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP YOURSELF...SO PEOPLE...SIT BACK AND WAIT FOR THEM TO CAUSE SOMEONE TO HAVE TO DEFEND THEMSELVES.

ANTONIO...you better holla at your spinlosers, they are fucking it up for you, son. And you can simply TRUST YOUR UNCLE MC ZUMA DOGG...

You are pouring fire on the pilot light.

YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN PUBLIC NOTICE, PAL!

6:53 zuma, nice to see you back with your threats, nut job. Keep at it, with what a "class act" you all are. That's SO evident. (Why don't your masters give you that $20 you keep begging for already?)

All we're doing is listening to YOU people on the Ra-dio, and believe me if I WERE spinning for Antonio I'd have put an end to that mountain of slime a long time ago. The only people who have been WAY TOO MUCH a class act have been on the receiving end. You just count on the fact that slime only flows downhill from your end. Yours is all gathering in a sewer of your own making at your feet wherever you go, be careful not to step in it.

Go ahead, keep threatening while you're at it. "Free Speech" only applies to your foul mouth and behavior, right?

Of course. it really doesn't matter because Weiss is gone, and with him all your dreams. What did you expect Jack was going to give you? A nice city job where you could carry on doing Weisshole's dirty work?

You love corrupt politicians don't you? Well, you going to be losing a few more soon. And you can cry 'racism' and 'selective prosecution' as much as you like, nobody will give a crap because they're all dirty and deserve a little cell in a dark place alongside their gang banger buddies.

I hear Weiss is in the crosshairs, perhaps you should take a look at some mob movies and coach Jack on how to take the 5th?

WHOA!

Rosendahl's stupidity masks a lot.

Today's fee waives included a cool $100,000 to have EVERY WEEKEND AT 4 SPOTS IN ROSENDAHL'S DISTRICT DECLARED SPECIAL FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY EVENTS, COSTS ABSORBED BY THE CITY, Ed Reyes co-sponsored.

Venice, Marina del Rey, Playa Vista and a 4th location. EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND DECLARED A SPECIAL FOURTH OF JULY EVENT COURTESY OF YOU.

That's $100,000 people, toward Bill Rosendahl's run for U S Senate at YOUR expense. He wants to be able to say this his district likes him.

This is more than all the other event waives together. Only ONE of which are reimbursed by the sponsors: the BET awards. The ONLY one generating major revenue and entertainment interest goodwill for the city.

BILL ROSENDAHL IS THE BIGGEST FRAUD ON COUNCIL ALONG WITH ZINE AND MAYBE HAHN. The rest may be jerks but we know where they stand.

Actually:

1) Nuch does care about the billboards and they are in his sights; bet on it.

2) The first politician in Cooley's sights is none that have been listed; it is none other then Rocktard who will be spending his days, not running for AG, but explaining away all the political corruption and favoritism in which he participated, starting with the eight tenures which were contrary to law, as they did not pass the civil service exams, which is the first requisite.

Rich Llewyllen is smart enough to understand this and he has opted to become Koretz' COS. The other seven out to be looking, because they have about five days to go before they get their pink slips...

Gee, why didn't ZD give us this scoop? Is it because he knows nothing? You decide.
