Meet Tom Campbell tonight - West L.A.
If you feel like you might have heard of him before, you probably have. Frequent Mayor Sam readers have been seeing his ads over on the right side of this page for over a month. Tom Campbell worked in the Reagan Administration and also served as a US Congressman representing the Silicon Valley Area.
One of the best items on his resume is that he served as State Finance Director and during his term , the State budget was balanced with no tax increases and no borrowing.
Not sure how I feel about him. I'm not particularly excited by any of the Republican Candidates for Governor right now. They need to do a lot more to convince me to support them. Campbell seems to be fiscally Conservative, which I like a lot, but he also supported the horrible Prop 1A... a big tax hike on the May ballot. He is going to have some "splaining" to do tonight.
My group, Westside Republicans, hosts both Tom Campbell and Congressional candidate David Benning tonight at our monthly dinner in Westwood. See the Westside Republicans website for more details.

So far Steve Poizner is better than any Democrat or Republican I've seen yet. I will still keep an open mind.

Phil--caught the end of your remarks at council B4 the fools went into closed session (to allocate settlement $$$, natch!) You were terrific! Great quotes! And you really handed Garcetti's "ACORN-ed" ass right back to him on a green, recyclable platter! Good job!

Tom supported Prop 1A and you're still deciding whether his judgement can be trusted?

Thanks Rita!
I thought it was one of my better comments ever.
Janice Hahn and Jose Huizar were staring right at me like I was talking to them in particular, but they were just broad statements referring to the council.

We'll see... he has a good performance rating in financial matters. I'm sure he has some type of explanation....
1A was originally intended as a spending cap.

This photo is at least 10 years old -- the ad he's got just to the right shows him white haired, saggy faced and very different. Not that I'd go out of my way to hear him anyway, talk about DOA. Looks like Newt Gingrich and about as likely to get elected.

With all the posts on "WATER" and "POWER" on this site.
I am totally surprised to find that most of you don't remember that it was Steve Poizner that vocalized that Prop 84 was all about the RMC, I mean special interests groups).
All these million dollar nature centers coming out Prop 84 "water" funds. The most recent being the San Gabriel River Discovery Center - 30+ million.
And...lets not forget how he vocalized and lead his opposition on Prop 93.
The shady reformation of "term limits"
Prop 93 went down big time,& just maybe things like "summer school" would have been saved if Prop 84 would have too.

Nothing like an endorsement from Rita of Sunland to get you off the birthday party clown circuit, Phil!

Why do you care what Phil does for a living crazy blogger @11:31 PM? It's honest work.

Because the CREDIBILITY of the author is relevant.
The man came in LAST PLACE in a big field. He beat NOBODY. So he doesn't have a clue about the subject or how to read the field.
Also, I think he has tremendous foolishness in virtually every thing he does, including his blind belief that he is going to collect 240,000 signatures to recall the mayor.
That is the definition of an idiot. If an army couldn't get 20,000 signatures to recall weiss, he should know that he can't get 200 sigs, let alone 240,000.
And finally, he doesn't want to share simply what his field of endeavor is. That raises a red flag to me. He wants to know who is in the mayor's pocket, and I think the question is only reasonable to ask him too.

8:05 Weiss wasn't responsible for thousands of people losing their jobs, like Antonio is about to be.
I only need 3,000 laid off city workers to be willing to go get 80 signatures each.
If the layoffs happen, do you want to make a bet as to whether I succeed or not?

Okay, in the story above, I threatened to want to leave again. Seeing Rita's stupid fucking not funny black face picture is enough to make me puke.
Love you Michael. Too bad I can't take your blog anymore.
Stephen, can you make a new blog called 4th floor AGAIN or something? Anything to get away from these racist losers that post here.
Done here.
And yes, check my IP address and then check it against every response from now on. You won't find it.
The blog is out of hand.
Zuma is smarter than Phil or Rita.
Is this "white man Tom Campbell" thread a joke? Oh yeah.. sign me up for more of the same.
Rita I hate you so much.
