RecallAntonioVillaraigosa.com
I have reserved this internet domain, also along with RecallAntonio.com - for short - for potential recall action against the Mayor. I will be going to City Council to address this subject today and the uphill battle it would take.
Please watch on television on Channel 35 or watch on the internet.
I believe that saving the City is worth the fight.

Nobody is more qualified to "save the city" than the guy who got the fewest votes in the last election.
All Phil is doing is trying to get the spotlight by buying a doman. Let's see if he can SUCCESSFULLY do something for the FIRST time in his life.
And before you get movin' Phil, choose ONE person who should replace Villaraigosa. You can't say "anybody." If you want to recall Antonio, you should already have decided who should replace him. Let's hear it. You've already dissed all of the other candidates who ran last time, so unless you can WEASEL out of that, let's hear your one choice

If you spent more than 99 cents for the domain, you paid too much.
Only the last place candidate could choose such a long domain.
Phil, was your second choice WWW.Idontlikeantoniovillaraigosasfirsttermasmayor.ORG?

Dear Naive Phil:
The last thing you need is another failure attached to your name. And I don't mean the failure to put the recall on the ballot, but the failure to establish enough credibility to make a serious effort of it. I think that too many people will simply view you as a conservative nut job like all those bozos on Fox News.

I loathe antonio villaraigosa, but look forward to watching phil fall flat on his face AGAIN, instead of his getting a job at Kinkos in their training program to help the mentally slow

Predictions:
1. Phil never to get the signatures for the recall.
2. Phil never ever to even get close to the requirement.
3. Antonio not to be recalled.
4. Zuma Dogg will NOT qualify for CD2. Repeat, will not make the ballot for CD2.
that's what my crystal balls are telling me.
you may also recall me going on CH35 announcing Antonio as the winning mayor at least a year out from that election which Phil lost.
so Phil, had you listened, you could have saved a lot of work and a bunch of embarrassment.

"WEASEL" is reserved for Jerk Weiss.

Poster one, exactly. If AV were to be recalled, who wound run and who would win? Could AV actually run again after being recalled? The question is moot because it's never going to happen.

Thank you Phil. I am sure someone will be able to put it to good use.
Better persons for Mayor?
Easy: Wendy Gruel, Laura Chick, Zev

55% of the voters re-elected the mayor over a field of 9 candidates including you just a couple of months ago...is it anything but a sad attempt to sabotage the democratic process by a former candidate to try to waste the people of LA's money on another election before the Mayor is even sworn in...Phil my advice to you is to stick with your day job...if you have one...

listening in on council phone and can't stop laughing.
phil says that he must wait 3 months into the new term, and then collect 240,000 signatures.
that's not the only hysterical thing. phil says he will be busy recruiting 2400 people to collect 100 signatures each. i predict that three months into the new term, phil will need just 2397 more people to collect 100 signatures each.
there's more. phil spent $25 on his two domain names. $25. That's exactly $20 more than he needed to spend.
i can't wait for daily updates from phil on how many signatures he has.
hello. my name is phil jennerjohn, former candidate for mayor. i know i lost, but need just 239,931 more signatures for my petition to recall antonio villaraigosa. and i need just 97 people more to get 2399 signatures each.
i am going to puke from laughing so much. i hope higby will join in the signature effort

I don't quite understand those who are against taking precautionary measures. Phil is doing what someone will eventually do anyway. Let's take a good look at the mayor and please tell me why Phil's actions are so useless to you. Any "nay-sayers" must have some kind of stake invested with the mayor, or they are just plain afraid to see things for what they are.
Go back four years and look at the promises he made. Look at the progress. The mayor used to be a coalition builder when "no one" realized he was using the city as a stepping-stone. It's only a matter of time before people are going to get really angry.
Let's see the mayor shut down the marijuana dispensary in front of the Tom Bradley Youth and Family Center, where little kids see the store front every day. Let's see him hold a news conference assuring the community that this will not be allowed.
How can this happen? Any other mayor would have never allowed that. But as we all know, East L.A. gang bangers love smoking pot. To the mayor it’s clearly not a priority.
Furthermore, if the mayor had been black and cheated on his wife with a TV reporter, the treatment from the community would have been much harsher. Treating him with kit gloves? Why? Get real people! I want answers, not ignorance and excuses.
Need a good example of real leadership? Listen to the entire speech President Obama gave in Cairo. Hear what reality sounds like. Then compare it to the deflated mayor of Los Angeles, who supposedly leads the second largest city in America.

#1 Reason to recall Villar - the sneaky attempt to appoint Jackass Weiss as Deputy Mayor in charge of Homeland Security.
#2 Reason to recall Villar - firing 24 airport empoyees to make way for Jackass's thugs.
#3 Reason to recall Villar - Jackass Weiss....

Villaraigosa was reelected with about 55.5 percent of the total votes. A 5% difference would have put the mayoral race into a runoff. With the total voter turn out, only 239,347 people voted for the mayor. Those are not numbers to boast!!!
By the way, a recall effort is democracy in action!
the validity of the government is dependent on the participation of its people!! Where is the recall list, I know I will be signing! VIVA LA VOZ DEL PUEBLO UNIDO!!! ABAJO EL MEQUETREFE DEL MANDILON VILLARAIGOSA

This election was a runaway; do not be misled by the amateurs. Winning by more than a ten percent victory is a big win anywhere, anytime.
Go back and look at the last few presidential or gubenatorial elections...
Your chances of gettng the amount of signatures required are so slim you will just be embarassed.
They tried it when he was in the council and they tried it on Jack to no avail. Gathering the signatures is expensive; who will finance it, Dave Schmaltzburger(aka Zuma Mutt)? He doesn't have two nickels to rub together to make a Boy Scout.

Why did I think it only takes 15% of the last election to recall Mayor Villar?

Recall the Mayor: Well, he knows he need to make changes internally (ie. get rid of Dick Riordan people, especially Keeley) and externally (ie. find someone who can manage the ultimate "bully with a badge") etc.. And, stop spinning...more transparency? BS...there is less than ever...AND, go back to your roots...LABOR, LABOR and LABOR!!1

Both Villar and the council are all dirtbags. LA will be broke by the end of 2009.

There’s people that want to recall Villaraigosa we just need someone to start the movement. We need to have a list of all the failures of the Mayor, broken promises and lies he told the public to instill fear and have them vote for higher taxes. It is time for RECALL
Walter Moore said:
You thought it took 15% because that's what's required for certain other measures voters can put on the ballot.
Sometimes you need 15% of the turnout from the last election; sometimes you need 15% of all registered voters.
As you get older, and have more and more random information crammed into your organic hard drive, you'll experience this phenomenon more and more. You know, like, "Why did I think there were 50 states?" Or "Why did I think L.A. was part of the U.S.?" That sort of thing.
Anonymous said:
Let's call the NC leaders together and start organizing. Let's create a website where people can register and submit contact information. They would commit to gathering just 50 signatures each.

Did anyone see Mayor V's mistress on Channel 5 last night? Her dress looked pretty big. She looked pregnant. No kidding. Not to spread rumors but take a look if you get a chance. Maybe it was just the dress, but she looked pretty big to me.
Walter Moore said:
Okay, I set up an online poll so everyone can "weigh in" on whether L.A.'s voters should recall Villaraigosa.
Take the poll at http://TheWalterMoorePoll.com.
Phil Jennerjahn said:
Walter, if you want to be involved in the recall, just say so.
Unknown said:
Walter & Phil... why don't you two guys just make up and get on with it?
Phil: I can't imagine why Walter would directly want to be involved with any recall efforts, for three reasons:
1) Any recall effort is (at best) a tremendous long shot, just in terms of getting the signatures, let alone executing the plan.
2) Even if a recall was successful, as runner-up to Mayor V, Walter would immediately be perceived as the "sour grapes" loser in the race. That descriptor seems to be ok with you, Phil-- but I don't know that it would be for Walter. And...
3) Walter stands nothing to gain from a successful recal, because he has said many time now that he is done with local politics, so if there was a vacancy at the top, he wouldn't make a run for it.
Or, would he?
In my so-called opinion, I think Walter gets at least as much joy out of criticizing the Mayor from the sidelines of blogs and talk radio shows, as he might get from actually having the job.
I think Mayor V is a failure. However, he has always maintained himslef as a professional, and always been polite to his naysayers... something I think both you and Walter could take a lesson from.
Phil Jennerjahn said:
Vinnie,
In response to your questions...
I don't need to "make up" with Walter. We were political rivals for the election of March 09, but the election is over and I bear him no ill will. We butted heads and had some cross words during the campaign...but politics is politics. It is not a game of patty-cake and is not for the faint-hearted or thin-skinned.
There are things I don't like about Walter, and I'm sure he could say the same about me. But I do respect the fact that he had the guts to fight Villaraigosa.... and if Walter Moore had spent more money on direct mailings, I think he could have forced a runoff election.
I could work with him on other projects, including a recall, if he wanted to cooperate.
But that is up to Walter.
If he wants to help, fine. If not, fine.
If Walter could mobilize even 500 of the over 70,000 people who voted for him... this project would become the source of nightmares for Villaraigosa.
The Recall?
I think it is absolutely going to happen.
1) It will be difficult, but not impossible. The voters of this City have 120 days to get the signatures once the recall is made public. That is four months...an eternity in politics.
2) Being known as the "bitter loser"? .. I'm not worried about that at all. Hell, 90% of the City still doesn't even know who I am.
Can't speak for Walter on this. Ask him.
3) Nothing to gain? Baloney. I think Walter would enjoy destroying Antonio and forcing him from office. He likes Antonio even less than I do, I think. Walter would build a reputation and easily win a council or other seat in a future election. But maybe Walter doesn't plan on being elected to anything in this City. But I do.
And the line about the Mayor being polite?
Yeah sure, whatever you say.
Maybe you should ask the guy he stabbed when he was younger.
Maybe you should ask his fellow students at UCLA about his communist-style takeover protest actions at that campus.
He certainly is polite to illegal immigrants...
I will give you that.
