City workers to rally at Villar's Penthouse
The Public Employees Unions must be pissed at "Mayor MEchista" if they plan on chanting and hollering at a time when "Mayor MEchista" and his newest "Telebimbo" are sleeping off the effects of their night together.
What should worry City Union Workers, especially both full-time and part-time Recreation and Parks employees, is how the likes of "Mayor MEchista" and his "little councilman mijo" in CD-14 will double speak when it comes to shilling for employees (and awaiting their COPE money), while facilitating money to dubious non-profits that are immune from layoffs and forced unpaid time off, who are duplicating programs that city employees implement on a daily basis.
If they don't know it now, then the City Employees will be the latest to learn that "Mayor MEchista" speaks in "meisms" that change with his latest needs, which is casting himself as a public figure who controls public employees cost, despite past promises. Looks good to fiscal conservative voters.
.....and just maybe, somewhere, SEIU's Julie Butcher and others union leaders are damning Villar to a "collective hell".
Your thoughts..........

Julie couldn't be trusted to take the trash out at SEIU 347 and yet she ignores her stewards who are out there doing the real work for her underrepresented members. She should have ben put out to pasture a long time ago. dm

Julie Butcher's been in bed with the Mayor Midget for a long time. Now she's trying to figure out what new lie to tell her members to give the bad news that the Mayor wants her to give. When all is settled and done, Julie will do the midgets bidding. SEIU's never stood up to management anywhere!

Don't lump all public employee unions in with SEIU.
SEIU is a cancer in organized labor. They do nothing for the people they represented except syphon dues money and pool it into political campaigns. Worse, they attack other unions in destructive raids that only benefit management.
But, as the Mayor proves, there is no payoff for their support -- politicians just take their money, give them lip service and do what is best for their ambitions.
There are still many unions doing the right thing and focusing on what is best for the people they represent, SEIU is not one of them.
As for doubling over in laughter, most of society makes fun of public workers anyway. But in tough economic times we are the ones with steady income and benefits.
That's the trade off, when times are good private sector employees can go to their bosses and ask for a raise or a bonus, public employees have to be content with what they last negotiated.

1053, you didn't recruit enough people to change the outcome.
Good effort, but you failed. The people have spoken, and we'll see you at the next election.

Watch Bill Rosendahl jump in to pander to the SEIU to make Antonio and council look bad! As part of his planned idiotic run for Senate.
He and Janice Hahn have already been trying to force the LAX-area hotels to give their workers a living wage, and have gotten the city sued over it because it's selective legislation -- the same could have been made about hotels around Staples or the Convention center, any number of other venues which the city helps fund and which attract business. (
Not as if the city didn't already benefit from hotel taxes and fees and money these people spend in the city elsewhere. Last I heard L A had already spent lots of money defending this ridiculous scheme of theirs to court the SEIU vote. Not a peep on that part from Bill R.
While ironically Tony V has been trying to act fiscally responsible and get the unions to be realistic about our budget crisis. Just like Rosendahl's the one trying to steal our trash fee hikes promised for more cops on our streets -- to put it toward undisclosed misc. other services paid for by the general fund that he and cohorts Parks and Smith have mismanaged.
But because those two characters have a rep for being the budget hawks and Tony V the opposite, he has managed to fool the dummies into thinking HE's on the people's side.
Another flip-flop coming to the fore: he ran on helping the poor of Venice and social justice issue but now wants to create more no parking laws when there already exists a law which isn't enforced, no RV-night parking can be posted.
But he wants to push them clear out of the city and create parking permit districts. Which would mean even homeowners having to go downtown IN PERSON to show drivers licenses and ownership papers in order to get them. NO other city requires anything nearly so onerous.
His plan would also leave residents with no streets at all just sidewalks with nowhere to park -- if they were given permits for the 3 already crowded public spots, visitors would have nowhere to go. none of which this genius has considered in his quest to cater to the people who he thinks would be more likely to give money toward his nutty run for Senate.
In all cases thinking 2 steps ahead of himself, even 1 ahead, is way too much advance planning for him.
