Michael,is this what you want on your blog? This is certainly a new precedent.

I am not being compensated for this, if this is what people are worried about. I donated money out of my own pocket to this charitable foundation that helps students get scholarships for college.
It is a good cause. Buy a ticket.
The Laker Girls will be there.

I've deleted all the troll comments from the wacko amen corner, usual suspects, bloated blogers, spinmeisters, cut and pasters, dum dums, loons and quixotes.
For Christ sakes people Crystal is an accomplished, dynamic, young woman of color who is a success story and is giving back to her community. How many people her age do you see doing things like this?
If you read WWG, LAist, etc. they're constantly promoting events they sponsor, support. If you don't like this, move on. Better yet, start your own blog or make your current one more interesting.

Thanks Michael!
I usually don't do stuff like this, but it is for charity. I figured the haters wouldn't be able to stand someone trying to do something nice for others.
They can pile on when I get back to politics.
My upcoming piece "Recalling Villaraigosa" will probably get over 100 comments. Half from his staff and spinners.

I don't know what "of color" has to do with it, but as long as Michael supports it and is aware of it then I don't care if it is posted.

This is certainly a turn in the right direction. I'd much rather read about community-based efforts to bring about positive change than to read foolish postings about brainless gossip.
I hope that I can make it out to the event. But even if I can't, it's worthy enough of a check to be mailed it.
Thanks Phil for bringing this to the attention of the bloggers on here who have active brain cells.
