Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Wednesday

In a stunning development City Controller-elect Wendy Greuel says she has "Changed her mind" and will not take the position this July 1st.  Greuel told the LA Times that she didn't know she'd actually have to "do spreadsheets and stuff" and decided that being a City Council Member was more fun.  No word yet on who will be City Controller following Greuel's decision.

KABC Talkradio host Doug McIntyre has announced his latest film project.  McIntyre, who produced the award winning "Trying to Get Good: The Jazz Odyssey of Jack Sheldon" with his wife Penny will soon release the next installment in the series.  "Trying to Get Laid: The Love Odyssey of Antonio Villaraigsosa" will feature rare and never before seen footage of the Mayor along with interviews with notables such as Mirthala Salinas, Fabian Nunez, Bob Hertzberg and longtime aide Michael Trujillo.  In one memorable scene Hertzberg remembers his time as Villaraigosa's housemate in Sacramento when both were serving in the legislature.  "If I showed up and an empty bottle of wine and a half-eaten box of El Pollo Loco was outside the door, I made myself scarce for 45 minutes," Hertzberg told McIntyre.

Proving that the only color that matters is green bitter enemies Don Quixote and Walter Moore have put aside their hostilities to partner on a lucrative business deal.  The unlikely partners will open a chain of "Sanctuary City Diners" which will serve Hispanicized versions of suburban Anglo comfort food, such as Meatloaf Asado and Pot Pie de Birria.

Blogger and activist Ron Kaye has won a six month battle with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the non-profit organization that hands out internet domain names such as the dot-coms of every website.  Kaye will now become the proud owner of crotchedyoldman.com, his latest blog project.

LAist editor Zach Behrens has announced his latest project.  Using Google Apps and Google Street View Behrens will began an impressive project to catalog the number of pedestrian crossing buttons in Los Angeles.  These are the buttons usually attached to lightpoles at intersections to request that the stoplight display a "Walk" sign for pedestrians.  Behrens was amazed to find out the that City's Bureau of Street Repair had no accurate estimate of how many of the devices were in service.

Now had you started with the other stories and ended with the Wendy story, you would have gotten me for a second!

Good job though on thinking all that up. Very funny.

Bob Hertzberg had to wait outside for 45 minutes? Isn't it more like 2 minutes? Ask Mirthala.

Amazing how the local news is NOT REPORTING THIS SHIT WITH THE GANG BANGER MAYOR...WE NEED TO BOYCOTT LOCAL MEDIA. The city is in worst economic crisis and this bastard is using our tax dollars having these events for his friends....BULLSHIT..What politicans showed up Wendy? is this how she plans on using our money?

,,,,a black-tie bash for old pol Willie Brown's 75th birthday, at Mayor Villaraigosa's official residence in Windsor Square. What was quiet about it is that the Los Angeles Times and other media didn't know it was happening or didn't mention it. Brown lets it slip at the bottom of his column in the San Francisco Chronicle where he also went on about celebrating in Paris with 120 guests:

Be fun to see a comprehensive and public audit of the events held at Getty House. Laura Chick still has a few more months as Controller...

Hertzberg usually ate what was left of the chicken and anything else he could find around there.

He is not known for his slim figure.

Amusing is the image of Hertzberg and Trujillo sitting outside that condo, eating leftover chicken while Antonio was banging some broad.

Trujillo: "Bob, I really have to go to the bathroom."

crochedyoldman.com for Ron Kaye is spot on.

Would someone take that crabby old white guy away from his keyboard once in a while? Isn't he supposed to be golfing and complaining about the fees or something?
