Two Californias? From the Aquafornia blog....

Downsize California! Another scheme to divide California into two states, this time over Proposition 2 - yes, prop 2, not 8: From the Citizens for Saving Farming Industries: It’s time to let the coastal and metropolitan counties have their way. If they can’t appreciate agriculture they should live without it. They should form their own state. The farm community can start the ball rolling by proposing that the 45 interior counties come together as a separate state. Separating California into two states is a mammoth undertaking. Some will tell you it’s impossible. But simply allowing the mass numbers of farm uneducated city dwellers to dictate farm policy is committing agricultural suicide in California. No other region in the world, let alone the United States, has the capability of producing the variety of agriculture commodities as California. We must not allow the shortsightedness of sheer voting numbers to destroy an irreplaceable industry. The truncated state would include the coastal counties from the Bay Area down to Los Angeles County, with the remaining 45 counties, including Orange County and San Diego County remaining with the rest of the state. Apparently, they want to keep Mickey Mouse! (No way, I say!) All this is being led by Bill Maze, a termed-out Republican assemblyman from Visalia, and a few others. Check it out from the San Francisco Chronicle’s Politics blog: Farmer’s plan to split California ships San Francisco out. Also check it out here.

Hey Nutsack - Mayor doesn't need to use DONE resources to mop the floor with Zuma Hairplugs, Wacky Walter, or Jenner-Jihad.

Race over, game over, and he will coast to victory.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the Mayor uses council staffers and city employees to campaign on city time and our tax dollars. Villaraigosa is going to have a hard time in the valley.
Good for David Hernandez appearing on Fox 11 this morning. They were airing the press conf. with Mayor and Clinton and cut to interview David. Yeah for Fox 11.

We are in the worst economic crisis of all time and I want to know how much it cost for the Mayor's Breakfast on Saturday at the Westin Bonaventure for 1,400??????

Would that be the same Kim Thompson who used to lead the charge against Sunshine Canyon? She's working for the Mayor? ha ha.

Not ready for prime time candidate Phil Jennerjahn calls Latino candidate Carlos Alvarez "Taco Truck Alvarez."

That's your Republican boy Higby!

So Kim Thompson from Granada Hills sends an e-mail on behalf of the Mayor's campaign to people in her address book, and that happens to include her DONE Project Coordinator, so how does that get translating into the Mayor using DONE resources for his campaign?

I'm not an Antonio fan, but let's be fair about this.

The email from the Villaraigosa campaign was sent to our internal board member list and copied to DONE project coordinators. They would get the list from DONE.

From today's RonKayeLA website

Moore is the lead attorney for Clear Channel Outdoor which is accused of fraud, specifically forging documents so it could expand its easement on a Studio City commercial property in order to have enough space to put up a digital billboard.

It's no mystery that Moore has made a handsome living representing the billboard industry for years or that he's taken campaign contributions from his billboard benefactors.

But it can't help Moore's campaign for mayor for him to be spending the rest of the week in court defending the most despised billboard company at a time when billboard companies are the most despised of the many villains that City Hall's pay-for-play political corruption produces.

more on his site.

I don't go along with the NIMBY billboard hysteria but the story on Ron's site is different.

Sounds like the billboard company may have bamboozled the private property owner who doesn't want a digital billboard on his property (his right) so therefore sounds like he has a good case.

That being said this puts Walter in a really bad spot politically. He's not showing up to an event because he's being paid to defend a politically unpopular (not with me but everyone else) company engaged in a politically unpopular cause.

I'm for billboards but Walter is in a mess here!

Higby, you have no idea what the reason is that Walter doesn't attend your nutty event.

Unless you can read minds.

Speaking of nuts, why haven't you come out to endorse a candidate?

February 16, 2009 5:00 PM

Why would you expect Higby to endorse a candidate before his forum? What would be the point? And he hasn't had a chance to see everyone, yet. Even though he probably has already made his decision. The LA Times, Daily News and other media outlet have not endorsed a candidate, either. What's the problem, here?

** Official Mayor Sam Monday Evening Dumbshit Memo **

To the dumbshit who posted a comment attempting to slander Kim Thompson; that stuff doesn't get posted.

To dumbshit at 5:00 p.m., you are incorrect once again. I did not posit any assumption as to why Walter is not coming to the Mayor Sam debate; that comment was regarding Walter Moore's own post (as featured on Ron Kaye) from his blog that he was skipping out on the UCLA debate because he would be in court with Clear Channel again.

Any more of you dumbshits have any more shards of brilliance for us?

Michael Mayor Sam Higby, don't you dare endorse a candidate before we get a chance to hear them all at your debate.

Sam,

Don't you dare endorse any candidate who shows no respect for the democratic process and fails to show up for the debate. Including Phil, Walter, and any of your other Republican favorites.

Higby, you lying sack of shit. You wrote, "He's not showing up to an event because he's being paid to defend a politically unpopular (not with me but everyone else) company engaged in a politically unpopular cause."

You ARE saying why you think he's not attending your idiotic event. That's what YOU WROTE!

Don't say you're not saying something when THAT IS WHAT YOU WROTE!

Also, no one can get a handle on what ALL of the candidates are like because HIGBY DIDN'T INVITE ALL OF THEM!

Besides, anyone who listens to this slob's opinions and alters their views because of him is a total dope.

Think for yourself, not because of what some slovenly blogger thinks.

PS Higby, please change that photo of yours. It's creepy, in a middle-aged man sort of way.

Mr. David Saltsburg may be the ONLY candidate to get into a runoff with Tony Villar.

He may be whacked out more than a bit, but that may be just what L.A. needs right now.

We don't need a photo-op guy who said, "We clean your toilets". I guess we now know where Tony is when he is not doing his mayoral duties 89% of the time.

If L.A. is going to get through this horrible economy with basically the current clowncil it has, then it needs a real character to go to the Feds and the State Govenator to get funds for the city. Tony certainly isn't that guy.

Things changed in Minnesota when Jesse was the Governor, some for the better, some for the worse.

L.A. has had one term of a do-nothing Mayor who smiles but does little else for the city's landscape and its people.

L.A. voters should vote for David 'Zuma Dogg' Saltsburg in the March 3 election. It would certainly stir up the pot and force Villar to make promises he will surely not keep if he does get reelected.
