Englander is a self-centered slime ball, I don't care how hot his wife is. He is trying to become the next CM in the most disgraceful way possible, by using the LAPD.
He moved into the district, and joined the reserves so he can follow in his bosses footsteps and play dress up. That is a complete disgrace to the hard working men and women LAPD and as an officer myself, I am completely appalled.
We should not allow ourselves to be used by this ego-maniac.

Mini-Mitch joined the LAPD reserves at the same time he joined every board in sight and moved into CD 12. It isn't a secret he wants to slime into office on the backs of real police officers. Sad part is, he will probably get away with it.

To each their own but I have had a very different experience with Mitch and the Smith team. Very professional and willing the go the extra mile whenever I have called or needed something.
As far as him personally, I've found Mitch to be very down-to-earth with a great sense of self-deprecating humor. Like Stuart Waldman, Cindy Miscikowski and others, I like seeing people try to transition from staff to member. They bring a depth of knowledge and experience that can benefit a district.
And if having an ego were a disqualifier for politics, we would have a lot of empty seats.
I expect to see him on the ballot for CD 12 and I'm happy to walk, phone or write a check to make it happen.
The constant staff-member revolving door is what is wrong with City Hall. It is why nothing ever gets done. Mitch can put on a good show, but he is no good for the district. He screwed us over on Sunshine Canyon, tried to screw us over on Las Lomas, screwed us on the hospital, screwed us on the high school where do I stop?
Let us not forget, he is a lobbyist, and related to a lobbyist. We already have to much special interest access in City Hall, why the hell would we elect one of them?
Ans let us not even talk about his using his influence to help the school his kids go to at the detriment of everyone else, or his interference with PRNC, NENC and CNC.

I won 3 separate elections for NWNC and was disqualified after I moved out of the district on the last go-around. (later deemed to be a mistake)
DPSFV endorsed NEITHER candidate in my race, although I did get 65% I did not make the 70% requirement - wow, they showed me the door huh?
I was elected and served as Vice-Chair of LANCC and did not run for re-election - Guess they showed me huh?
If you read the blog, I left as an official blogger on Mayor Sam, I wasn't "fired" by any stretch of the imagination.
Beckford PTA - ummm... my kids don't go to Beckford anymore and I don't live there, nor would any of the current parents know me so I am not sure it is even possible to be "persona non grata" at a PTA.
I get that you have to spin, and undoubtedly I have failed at things in my life. But at least I have tried. Besides take a cowardly snipe at someone hiding behind "anonymous" on a blog, what have you done?

He was on Richard Alarcon's state staff, but when Alarcon got elected to the City Council he didn't take Alger with him to his enlarged staff.
The problem? With Jim, it's all about Jim. Bad employee.

Jim left Richard's staff long before the City Council election to run for State Assembly and then took on a job in the private sector as I recall.
One of the amazing talents of Mitchell Englander is the uncanny ability to spin something to the point of being unrecognizable and distract away from the issue, (in this case the issue is Mitch, who is seeking to be one of the highest paid city council members in the nation), changing the conversation to almost anything else (in this case a referendum on Jim Alger, a community activist who isn't running for anything).

Mitch Englander is a hero! He was one of the first people to respond to the Metrolink crash where he began pulling bodies (both living and dead) out of the wreckage. He gets my vote.
Mitch did not pull out a single body, living or dead. He left his city job, dressed up for the cameras and that was it.
A "hero" puts himself at risk for the good of others. Mitch may be many things, but a "hero" isn't one of them.
A hero also doesn't blog on Mayor Sam about how much of a hero he is for things he didn't do. Only a narcissistic jackass who makes ultra-life-size pictures of himself does that.

The honest, intelligent, capable and viable opponent to Mitch is Armineh Chelebian... She is a strong, ETHICAL, Conservative candidate who knows Los Angeles and California, and is an adept businessperson, which is what we need...not some swash-buckling, prima donna character who never sweats... Do we really need another photo-op crazed politician in Los Angeles/CA?
I have known Mitch for several years and consider him a friend. He is open minded and wants to do right. I agree with other supporters who have commented in defense of Mitch, and he does care deeply about public safety. I can see why active duty officers would resent Mitch, but they have to keep their own egos in check. I have contributed to Mitch's campaign, and look forward to supporting him during the election.
