Beverly Garland, 82

Legendary film and television actress Beverly Garland died Friday evening in her home at the age of 82.  Bert Seneca, the General Manager of the North Hollywood hotel she had built with her late husband issued a statement Saturday saying  that Garland had "passed away last evening comfortably in her home.:"

Garland a movie "scream queen" of the 1950s was best known for her roles on television series such as My Three Sons, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Lois and Clark and Seventh Heaven.

She was also well known in the San Fernando Valley as the owner of the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn Hotel in North Hollywood, where she served for three decades as the community's "Honorary Mayor." Ms. Garland was active in many community and business organizations in Los Angeles including efforts to promote tourism all the while will still maintaining her acting career until her illness.

I remember her well---a fine actress and I AM SURE A very respected member of her community.She always struck me as comming across as a very moral person. To her family----my sincere prayers for her
