Well, Ralph Nader's Career Is Over...

and about 8 years too late! Watch the full clip for the panel's response to Nader's "Uncle Tom" characterization of Obama. I give my first h/t to Fox ever, and thanks to Sheppard Smith for handling this so well!

Ralph Nader is an idiot. But his career was over years ago.

He's one of the reasons we're in the mess we're in now. Had he not been such an egotist in running against Gore in 2000 we'd never have big government Republican George Bush.

No doubt, Nader is history.

That's why I said 8 years too late.
Would he have called McCain a potential "Uncle Tom"? Survey says....

MS, your bringing tears to this ole liberals eyes! Of course, I know this is probably some sort of conservative free market come-back strategy, but for now, I'll just take it as it's offered!:)

Here's something on Prop 8 -

20% of us Republicans voted no, so given that Republicans are like less than 30% of the state this should have lost easily just on Republican votes.

It was Democrats and Obama supporters that provided the margin of victory.

The Democrats need to address that one! We knew how the Repugs would vote and a lot of us stepped up big time! The Democrats are the party of tolerance yet they threw one of their constituencies under the bus to get Obama elected.

A lot of lines were crossed in this clip. Nader sinks his credibility with a unique and eye-popping combination of glibness and racism while this anchor, a corporate toadie if there ever was one, grandstands, postures and bullies. Ah, for the days of Ted Koppel...

Sheppard Smith hardly qualifies as a bully given the tactics used by the others on Fox News.

If Smith is a bully what in the world is O'Reilly?

Shep wasn't a bully, he was challenging goofy old Ralph to take accountability for what he said, which was an incredibly poor choice of words.

If Mitt Romney as an example had made the same comments as Nader, and Fox DIDN'T call him on it, the liberals would scream.

I believe that liberals who make racist or bigoted comments have to be held to as high a standard as conservatives.

He's right, Ralph got less votes for President than Sarah Palin got for Governor of Alaka, Ralph is now irrelevant.

What a sad way to end your career.

Nader did make himself accountable in the video. He didn't run away from his own statement.

The "if a conservative said that, the liberals would scream" argument carries no water as one would be hard pressed to find a group of liberal thinkers in support of Nader's remark.

True journalists report stories. Smith insinuated himself into the story by browbeating Nader and calling the political candidate irrelevant until he protested that he had already answered the question. I'm not saying Smith is not a great headline reader, nor am I saying he's not an attractive presence on camera. He's just not a real journalist.

We were taught this in journalism class in high school.
