Going to Washington?

But once again we have a young President and a relatively young Mayor who doesn't appear to desire to retire from politics, and they're both Democrats. Our Mayor is a shining star in national Democratic politics, spends more time there anyway than in LA doing his Mayoring and is well known to the DC glitteratti.
So - will Barack Obama offer a position to Antonio Villaraigosa? Uh, well, uh, don't count on it. However I would not be surprised to see LA based Obama early adopters such as Eric Garcetti, Laura Chick or Xavier Becerra as having a shot to go to DC.
What say you?

From Politico:
U.S. Rep. Jane Harman (D-Los Angeles) is mentioned as Director of National Intelligence or CIA director. Harmon and Los Angeles police chief William Bratton are both named as potential picks for Homeland Security secretary.
Cool, a female director of the CIA. Bratton a potential Homeland Security Chief? Excellent choices both. I know, I know it's whack, but reality as we ever knew it changed last night.
There will be more surprises as we warp the envelope on this our very own Magical Mystery Tour.
We're all counting on you, Michael to bring us the drama as it unfolds. Remain vigilant, keep your tongue firmly implanted in cheek and enjoy the ride. An AC/DC song comes to mind.
Off topic but James Hahn has been appointed to LA Superior Court by the Gov!
good riddance!
hey Me -
is that for Villaraigosa, Hahn or both?
Dear President-elect Barack Obama,
Yesterday, Los Angeles voters spoke with overwhelming conviction as we cast ballots nearly 3-to-1 in support of your historic candidacy. The message we sent to Washington, the nation, and the world could not have been clearer.
Today, the balloons have fallen and the election is won, but the task ahead is daunting. Today, the hard work begins as the spigot opens and your transformational currents flow upon Washington, the nation, and the world. The journey will prove difficult, with many an obstacle along the way. It’s a journey we must make, but one too arduous for one man alone.
So it is with this understanding, and for my undying love of country and flag that I offer you three of LA's finest public servants who I’m confident will supply you with the unparalleled courage and wisdom you will need along the road ahead.
Antonio R. Villaraigosa: selfless dreamer; believer; achiever. A master of the transformational, whose loyal constructors can be observed day in and day out transforming our once-livable low-rise landscape into the promised land of the United Church of Smart Growth. Change we can believe in, and change we can see. There is no better candidate for housing secretary.
William J. Bratton: lawman; tough-as-nails; answerer to no one. Soothsayer of terrorist attacks and other national tragedies which may or may not occur. The only man who can defend our liberty and homeland in these trying times.
Eric Garcetti: even-keeled; loyal partner; people’s servant. All sunshine, no shade. An astute legal mind whose interpretations of the Brown Act and the Equal Protection Clause have rendered his constituents speechless. Literally. He’s also got a way with finances. Consider him for treasury secretary.
As you can see, Mr. President-elect Obama, these men are no ordinary men. They are extraordinary men. I beg you. Take them and proceed forth. For your cause, Los Angeles can, and must, sacrifice its finest.
Bonus skill for W. Bratton:
He has a tremendous gaydar for young female celebrities.
Higby, I found the entertainment for you next Mayor Sam Sister City party.
This person gives street performers a good name.
