Mixed messages on what foreign visitors spend in Los Angeles
By westchester dad
You might remember the figures that Villaraigosa recently quoted at the arrival of the Quanta’s A380 at LAX. The press release claimed, which was later parroted in a speech by the Mayor that just one flight each day would bring Los ...

Villaraigosa Joins Zuma Dogg in Calling For "Special Event Fee Waiver" MORATORIUM

In a "Belt-tightening" memo to City Council, City Controller, City Attorney and City Department heads, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is finally on the same page as Zuma Dogg when it comes to a moratorium on "Special Event Fee Waivers." Can't wait until I can use the two minutes of public comment on something else!

Guess who said this yesterday?: "Granting fee waivers for special events and/or not seeking reimbursement of staff cost related to special events continues to be a drain on limited City resources. I urge the City Council to implement a temporary moratorium on Special Event Fee waivers. I am also directing the CAO to draft a policy to reduce or eliminate the City subsidy for services at special events and for-profit venues."

Not Zuma Dogg...but Mayor Antonio Villagrosa. Man, with a comment like that, he must be running for mayor, or something.

Inept Laughing Stock Los Angeles City Council Loses Quorum AGAIN Before Finishing City Businesss (QUIT KISSING SO MUCH ASS AND TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS)

The first thing Zuma Dogg would do as Mayor is tell those lame-ass, kiss-ass, grandstanding, dumb City Councilmembers to shut the f*ck up, a little bit and take care of City business.

LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL WAS CAUGHT WITH IT'S SHORTS DOWN AGAIN, AS THEY LOST A QUORUM BEFORE THEY WERE DONE WITH THE AGENDA, INCLUDING THE VOTE ON ITEM 15 THAT WAS ABOUT THOSE FLASHING UFO CLEAR CHANNEL BILLBOARDS.

P.S. I posted a bunch of new stuff on my blog

Why doesn't Villar tell us how much the 3M illegal aliens who have slithered over the border in the trunk of a beat-up Chevie Camaro..spend each day in LA????

And why doesn't he tell us how much all the money all the illegal aliens from Mexico and Central America who fly in on Mexicana Airlines at LAX and get smuggled past customs...spend each day in LA???

And why doesn't Villar tell us how much UNTAXED CASH from illegal aliens is going back to Mexico and Central America in the form of Remisas ..is being spent on the local economy????

And why doesn't Villar tell us about the illegal alien underground CASH economy that is COMPLETELY UNTAXED in LA????

And why doesn't Villar tell us how much WELFARE and EARNED INCOME TAX CREDITS are going to illegal aliens?

And why doesn't Villar tell us about the 700,000 LAUSD illegal aliens and anchor babies that are getting $15,000/year to learn ENGLISH in our schools?

And why doesn't Villar tell us about the hundreds of hospitals that have gone bankrupt in LA because illegal aliens don't pay one penny???

Westchester, those numbers are from a LAEDC economic study. They don't represent the value of tourists exclusively. But, rather the high value exports that leave this country in the belly of the planes next to your luggage. It also includes the jobs and commerce that depend on those exports.

Your missing the point and that would be the huge disparity between the Australian and South Korean estimates coming out of the Mayors office. LAEDC or not. It should also be noted that exports to South Korea are almost double that to Australia. That suggests that there are more exports in the belly of an aircraft heading to South Korea than one flying to Australia.

It's the Mayor himself who's the biggest booster of El Grito in Huizar's district, intent on making it the biggest such celebration in America. I'm all for that one going but zuma mutt and the crazy ladies wanting to dump the Emmy's and other high profile events that make Hollywood Hollywood and bring glitz, money and jobs to LA is beyond dumb.

Do you think the City should spend money out of the general fund, during this economic crisis, on Emmy Awards, when they make millions of the broadcast? Would all of these award shows leave town over it? That would cost a whole lot more. And the special event fee waiver was not intended to be a business stimulus package.

Create some other ordinance to pick up the tab, then. Read the memo.
