Democrats and the media are bitching about funds the Republican Party has spent on clothing and grooming services for Sarah Palin's many personal and media appearances. Yet you're hearing nothing about Michelle Obama's (who is not a candidate), as Ricky Ricardo referred to them, 'stravagances.Just the tip of iceberg is her recent "snack" at the swanky Waldorf-Astoria in New York while her boo was out bloviating, Michelle was chowing down thanks to the campaign on the following (you can click the image to the left to see it full size):

So I wonder about all those little old ladies in places like Mississippi, Florida or even CD14, on Social Security sending in their $5 everytime BO asks not even knowing that Mrs. O is stuffing down expensive grub in a five star hotel.
Altogether the Obama campaign has spent nearly half a million on food, which, unless Michelle Obama is bulimic, cannot be returned unlike Sarah Palin's clothes (which will be donated to charity after the campaign).
In the meantime pro-John McCain newspaper The New York Times speads lies that the Federal Election Commission says that Barack Obama has filed incomplete financial disclosure reports with nearly $1.2 million in credit card charges by the Obama campaign unaccounted for.

For the curious, according to the Atlantic, the person behind Sarah Palin's $150,000 shopping spree was Karl Rove's former protege Jeff Larson.
Larson runs the robocalling firm that made the devastating calls against McCain in 2000. That worked so well that McCain hired him to attack Obama the same way.

There is a discrepancy that yes Ms Obama was in Indiana on the 15th but in the morning and flew back to NY to join Barack at the Al Smith dinner.
She would have been in the room to change. Until we see something more than a report on Snopes that has no timeline you better wait.
Ft Wayne to New York is only at most a 90 minute trip by private jet. According to the local papers she was out of there before 2:00 p.m. on the 15th. Plenty of time to be at the Waldorf-Astoria to chow down on a snack after a long afternoon.
We will check it out and if it's not true then we will note it.

The State that practices almost pure Socialism at one level, is Alaska.
That State takes from the rich Oil Companies and gives checks to the people of that state.

If anyone attempts to suggest that the Oil actually belongs to all of the residents of Alaska, watch out...we seem to have seen something like that in the U.S.S.R. and Communist China.
When the political leader and executive leader for a State seeks to remove rights from that State's women, then that also creates more of a Socialist view from the top.
Sarah supports "spreading the wealth" in her own State and allowing the government to take away individuals' rights.
I thought we got away from that when the Soviet Union collapsed.

I would think that the retraction made by the New York Post would be
enough to confirm the flimsiness (is that a word?) of the story.
I think the AP poll (and the new New IBD poll shows 45.7 - 42 and closing)show a real trend back to sanity for this country. I think this is going to swing McCain's way in the electoral college way but if he loses the popular vote(which he will probably) prepare for massive lawsuits and riots...Detroit's police force is already making preparations.

There's a big difference between some nut job posting an obviously untrue rumor on this blog, and you doing it. We all kind of expect that you will take a little bit of time to check out things.

Back to something that is real, if the RNC's spending of $150,000 on clothing for Palin, her husband, and her infant child is a "contribution" to the campaign, then there's a good chance that it violates federal campaign contribution laws which were amended in 2002 through the initiative of John McCain (the amendment bears his name) to specifically prohibit campaign contributions from being used to buy clothing for candidates.
Remember the big deal that some made over the $400 haircut that Edwards' campaign paid for? He reimbursed the campaign. This Wardrobegate scandal makes that one seem penny ante.

Perhaps trying to make the point that the First Amendment isn't his favorite one, former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich said that Saturday Night Live should be sued for the way it mocked Sarah Palin.

Newt was speaking specifically of one skit where that accused Todd Palin of sleeping with his daughters. That isn't political parody, it is slander.
If you had said the same thing about Obama, his truth squad would be taking away NBC's license.
By the way NBC was afraid it was going to get sued by George Soros and the Sandlers over that one skit (which was really quite funny in how it was sooo bi-partisan) so they pulled it from the net.
Obama spent $400,000 on food so far this campaign, that is, what his party paid for and what wasn't free/ offered/ paid for by supporters.
Michelle eating expensive caviar and lobster at a posh place just for fun is tacky and belies her image. But you can't criticize black people for extravagance because then they come back with "You just don't like uppity blacks, think all people of color should eat watermelon and sleep in a cabbage patch." The black version of Nunez' "you think all Mexicans should sleep under a cactus" excuse.
