Michelle Obama Sharing the Wealth

Democrats and the media are bitching about funds the Republican Party has spent on clothing and grooming services for Sarah Palin's many personal and media appearances. Yet you're hearing nothing about Michelle Obama's (who is not a candidate), as Ricky Ricardo referred to them, 'stravagances.

Just the tip of iceberg is her recent "snack" at the swanky Waldorf-Astoria in New York while her boo was out bloviating, Michelle was chowing down thanks to the campaign on the following (you can click the image to the left to see it full size):

2 Lobster Hors d' Oeuvres = $50.00
2 Whole Steamed Lobsters = $100.00
1 Iranian Osetra Caviar = $150.00
1 Bollinger Champagne = $44.00

Toss in a service charge of $68.80 and sales tax of $34.59 for a total of $447.39.

I am on the Obama campaign mailing list and often I get emails from Barack, Michelle and Big Mouth Joe saying:

Friend,

John McCain is Satan. Sarah Palin the Caribou Barbie Bitch of the North who hunts Jews and Blacks from an airplane is even worse.

We have a fight on our hand to save America from Satan and Satan-ette. But we need your money please.

Will you hook us up with a little PayPal love of $5.00 or more to save our country from the Nazi Republicans?

Thank you.

So I wonder about all those little old ladies in places like Mississippi, Florida or even CD14, on Social Security sending in their $5 everytime BO asks not even knowing that Mrs. O is stuffing down expensive grub in a five star hotel.

Altogether the Obama campaign has spent nearly half a million on food, which, unless Michelle Obama is bulimic, cannot be returned unlike Sarah Palin's clothes (which will be donated to charity after the campaign).

In the meantime pro-John McCain newspaper The New York Times speads lies that the Federal Election Commission says that Barack Obama has filed incomplete financial disclosure reports with nearly $1.2 million in credit card charges by the Obama campaign unaccounted for.

I'm am going to bet Sarah Palin who has her own personal shopper who shops for her at Neiman Marcus and Barney's for her designer clothes is a "Maverick" who will donate her clothes to Jill the Hairdresser. Speaking of Hairdressers how much did Sarah Palin spend on her hair?

And since Sarah Palin also charges Joe the Alaskan for flying her kids she has demonstrated her "executive" experience in completing government expense reports.

FACT SHEET:

William Ayers - Barack Obama

Background: William Ayers was a member of the Weather Underground, a radical leftist group that from 1969 to the mid-'70s conducted several bombings of government institutions. Ayers served on the group's Central Committee. The Weather Underground bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, military installations, and police stations. In all, seven people were killed. In 1981, two police officers and one security guard were killed by members of the Weather Underground in the robbery of a Brinks truck in New York state. After Ayers married Bernardine Dohrn, also a member of the Weather Underground (who was described by FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover as "the most dangerous woman in America"), they settled in Chicago.

Fact: Starting in the mid-'90s, Ayers and Obama served on the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge Project. They served together on the board for approximately seven years. Ayers and Obama were tasked with the oversight of a $100 million budget. The board, under Obama's chairmanship the Annenberg project gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to Bill Ayers' projects promoting alternative schools.
["Anderson Cooper 360," CNN, Oct. 6, 2008]

Fact: In 1995, Ayers and Dorn opened their Chicago Hyde Park home to host a political coming-out party for Barack Obama, when he ran for the state Senate. Someone who was at this party for Obama wrote that Ayers and Dohrn were launching him, "introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread."
[Politico.com, Feb. 22, 2008]

Fact: From 1999-2002, Ayers and Obama served together on a second charitable foundation, The Woods Fund. While at the Woods Fund, they gave money to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church, which Obama attended, and a children and family center, where Dohrn worked.
["Anderson Cooper 360," CNN, Oct. 6, 2008]

Fact: In 2001, Ayers posed for a photograph in Chicago magazine, accompanying a profile of his book, which shows him stepping on an American flag.

Fact: In his 2001 memoir, "Fugitive Days," Ayers writes of the time he took part in bombing the Pentagon. "Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon. The sky was blue; the birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them."

Fact: In the 2008 presidential race, Obama downplays his association with Ayers, saying that he is just a "guy who lives in my neighborhood."
[The Washington Post, Oct. 7, 2008]

Fact: David Axelrod, Obama's chief strategist, attempted to downplay the Obama/Ayers relationship: "Bill Ayers lives in his neighborhood. Their kids attend the same school . . . They're certainly friendly; they know each other, as anyone whose kids go to school together."
[Politico.com, Ben Smith, Feb. 26, 2008]

Fact: Obama's children never attended school with the Ayers children. Obama's children are ages 9 and 6. Ayers and Dohrn have two adult children, and they adopted a son from their fellow Weather Underground terrorist Kathy Boudin. That son was born in 1981.

Fact: Chicago's Hyde Park residents speak of Obama and Ayers' relationship. "Neighbors said it's only natural that Obama would know Ayers and Dohrn, who often open their homes for gatherings filled with lively discussions about politics, arts, and social issues. Obama and his wife 'are part of our neighborhood and part of our social circle,' said Elizabeth Chandler, a neighbor of Ayers'."

For the curious, according to the Atlantic, the person behind Sarah Palin's $150,000 shopping spree was Karl Rove's former protege Jeff Larson.

Larson runs the robocalling firm that made the devastating calls against McCain in 2000. That worked so well that McCain hired him to attack Obama the same way.

Larson’s firm is the same one that launched the scurrilous robocalls against John McCain in 2000, and that McCain has now hired to make robocalls connecting Barack Obama to Bill Ayers"

"However, Michelle Obama couldn't have been ordering room service in New York on that Wednesday afternoon, as she was giving a speech at the Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, at the time. When this fact was pointed out the Post, they removed the gossip item from their web site and printed retraction:

The source who told us last week about Michelle Obama getting lobster and caviar delivered to her room at the Waldorf- Astoria must have been under the influence of a mind-altering drug.

She was not even staying at the Waldorf. We regret the mistake, and our former source is going to regret it, too. Bread and water would be too good for such disinformation."

Don't know if Oprah is donating her services, but it does give the advantage to Obama.

Mayor Sam -

Don't print your retraction just yet based on the left leaning Snopes, Joe B and Jim Alger.

There is a discrepancy that yes Ms Obama was in Indiana on the 15th but in the morning and flew back to NY to join Barack at the Al Smith dinner.

She would have been in the room to change. Until we see something more than a report on Snopes that has no timeline you better wait.

Ft Wayne to New York is only at most a 90 minute trip by private jet. According to the local papers she was out of there before 2:00 p.m. on the 15th. Plenty of time to be at the Waldorf-Astoria to chow down on a snack after a long afternoon.

And how about the hatchet job done by Cindy McCain in the NY Times? Had anyone written an article about Mrs. Obama like that everyone would be in convulsions about now. Or how CNN's Drew Griffin misled Sarah Palin on the National Review piece that he tried to present as critical of Paln but was actually critical of her detractors.

During the time Edwards was running for President, the Repubs condemned his "$400.00" haircuts.

Edwards would need to get his hair cut at least 375 times in less than three months' time to equal what the RNC spent on Sarah's wardrobe.

John could eat off of his current wife's income and have just about every singe meal made up of exactly what Ms. Obama ate, if she actually ordered it in the first place.

Oh yes, John....left his disfigured wife and married an heiress about one month after his previous divorce was final.

The Repubs condemned John Kerry for his shared wealth and his marriage to an heiress.

Why doesn't the shoe fit when it comes to John McCain?

Oh yes, did your blog mention that 'Joe the Plumber was driving on a different State's license received because his Arizona driver's license was suspended for not paying accumulated fines?

Might Mr. Higby suggest that people like Walter Annenberg is working alongside 'terrorists' because his foundation sponsored the group Senator Obama, Mr. Ayres, and even Republicans worked at?

Right-wingers' hypocracy, elitism, and beliefs that they truly represent America and no others do, strongly suggest that their heads are growing too fat for the rest of the population.

The State that practices almost pure Socialism at one level, is Alaska.

That State takes from the rich Oil Companies and gives checks to the people of that state.

That is truly "spreading the wealth" on its face and is not something Sarah seems to be condemning.

If anyone attempts to suggest that the Oil actually belongs to all of the residents of Alaska, watch out...we seem to have seen something like that in the U.S.S.R. and Communist China.

When the political leader and executive leader for a State seeks to remove rights from that State's women, then that also creates more of a Socialist view from the top.

Sarah supports "spreading the wealth" in her own State and allowing the government to take away individuals' rights.

I thought we got away from that when the Soviet Union collapsed.

I know of what I write for I am 'Major Ranting Elitist' to some folks in my community.

Back to something that is real, if the RNC's spending of $150,000 on clothing for Palin, her husband, and her infant child is a "contribution" to the campaign, then there's a good chance that it violates federal campaign contribution laws which were amended in 2002 through the initiative of John McCain (the amendment bears his name) to specifically prohibit campaign contributions from being used to buy clothing for candidates.

Remember the big deal that some made over the $400 haircut that Edwards' campaign paid for? He reimbursed the campaign. This Wardrobegate scandal makes that one seem penny ante.
