Obama & McCain; VERY FUNNY @ Alfred Smith Dinner

No matter what your views are of Barack Obama and John McCain, or even if you're not voting for either, they both get major funny points for their roasts of the world, and themselves, at tonight's charity event.

Wow! Hilarious!!!

McCain stole the show...funny stuff and great delivery!!!

On the other hand, Obama does NOT do 'funny'!!! He bombed bigtime! It's always been more than evident that Obama has no sense of humor...very disturbing! Even Bush was a funny guy when he wasn't trying to play grown up.

And it was totally inappropriate for Obama to give a political speech at the end. McCain stayed within the boundaries of comedy, but Obama just had to get in one last push.

If only McCain had campaigned the way he wowed the audience tonite...we would be looking at the next President!

I disagree. While I didn't see the entirety of Obama's speech, the funny part was great, as was his timing.

Be fair.

"Rupert Murdoch accused me of fathering two African-American children in wedlock!"

and

"Barack is Swahili for 'That one!'"

and

"I got my middle name (Hussein) from someone who didn't know I was going to run for President.....My new middle name is Steve. Barack Steve Obama."

C'mon. Barack Steve Obama. Whoever wrote this stuff was good, as were McCain's writers. McCain killed, too.

Yes, Haikula, it's true that Obama got in a few good ones, but McCain kept the zingers coming, and kept the audience laughing. Obama got in a couple of good ones, but for the most part he received polite laughter. They both turned serious, but the contrast between the deliveries (McCain vs. Obama) came down to this: Obama ended on a serious note, McCain ended on a humorous note.

Quite frankly, I didn't think either one was capable of humor. The one who had the best humor was McCain. I agree with 7:21, McCain was a stand out compared to Obama.
