Did McCain "Whip His You Know What"?

Tonight was McCain's last big chance to bring home the bacon.
I saw a desperate McCain doing his best to appease his handlers, and Obama in the driver's seat.
I don't think bacon is on the menu tomorrow.
Of course, you may disagree.

Looks like McCain got his ass whipped again.

Way to go McCainiacs... first blame your opponent for making you run a negative campaign, then deny running a negative campaign, then attack your opponent for 90 minutes during a nationally televised debate thereby proving the point you are running a negative campaign.

The stock market rises and falls on expections. McCain's first mistake was saying that he'd whip Obama's a***, and then didn't.

It was the best that McCain had done, but he didn't best Obama. Check the CNN flash survey.

McCain needed a knockout punch and didn't get it.

Game over.

Anyone looking for an explanation for McCain's performance in tonight's debate (especially anyone considering voting for him) should read Tim Dickinson's article in the current Rolling Stone (#1063, Oct 16).
The real McCain is a scary piece of work.

So you've got bad cell phone reception at your home? What do you do?

If you're John and Cindy McCain, you simply get the cell phone companies to build you your own cell phone tower.

Getting poor service at their ranch in Sedona, Verizon embarked on a complex venture to build a tower on the property, but abandoned it after deciding that this was an inappropriate way to do business.

Instead, they delivered a portable tower on wheels -- for free. Then AT&T did the same.

It doesn't hurt that McCain sits on the Senate committee that oversees the cell phone industry -- something that has ethics lawyers concerned.

Additionally, McCain's campaign manager and five other campaign officials worked as lobbyists for Verizon.

McCain's chief of staff and several campaign officials are registered as lobbyists for AT&T.

Ah, the arrogance of power.

And Sarah, according to Old Man McCain is a bresh of freath air.

Acorn is a great organization.

Also on Sarah, the old creepy guy kept saying she knew a lot about autism. I think he just doesn't know what "special needs" means exactly. Someone should have told him Sarah's baby has Down's Syndrome, not Autism.

Obama was cool and collected. McCain was stumbling, incoherent and stumbling all over the place. McCain was all over the map when asked a question.

Obama neutralized McCain on the Ayers issue. Nice move on his campaign's part.

McCain won on points; it may not appear to be enough, but rememberThe Bradley Effect is in play here.

Based upon historical numbers (1982), it is worth 8 points. Do the math.

Thus, if McCain closes to less than 8 in any of the battleground states, it is closer than the pundits think.

I still say he wins, and we will have a Hottie for VP.

The splint screen clearly showed Obama cueing Schieffer as the debate progressed with hand motions Obama was not only a debater but was the director of the show as well.

Look at all the polls and Obama won the debate. He's now 3 for 3. I felt sorry for MCCain because when you allow your emotions and anger get the best of you it comes out and the people meters went way down. Not one Republican strategist not even dumb Buchanan said McCain did a decent job. I've never heard so many Republicans criticize their candidate. Sadly, everyone who knows John McCain has said this campaigning has turned him into someone they never knew. He wasn't a vindicative, mean spirited, personal attacking kind of guy. He had a lot of respect in the White House but that seems to have diminished.

Can we get back for a second to LA politics? Didnt' Antonio say he was going to clean up city hall yet he's always working it. Can someone find out how much the McCourts have donated to the Mayor's re-election campaign? Why isn't anyone outraged about this???

on Laobserved.com
Question: Which Los Angeles developers with business pending in City Hall get the most face time with Antonio Villaraigosa?

The mayor has been sitting in the Dodger Stadium owners' box at each playoff game I've seen. Tonight he stayed the whole game, mostly in the second row in front of Jamie, sometimes next to Frank, sometimes beside Tom Lasorda, or standing and twirling a white rally towel. Some of the time, Dodgers senior vice president for City Hall Howard Sunkin lurked nearby. The McCourts, of course, hope to develop a year-round retail and entertainment concourse beyond the center field fence.

Obama's smarmy smile and arrogant attitute is exactly what fuels the Bradley Effect.

After the election, come back and read these comments.

I am no ZD, who reads others thoughts and tries to pass them off as his own.

I have been saying this since the Demoncrats nominated Obama; he needs to be ten or more up in the battleground states to win, and I'm not even sure that will be enough.

I am praying for no riots and no prolonged protest when the votes are counted and McCain wins.

Like the story about the effete Upper East Side New Yorker who said "How could George Bush have won? I don't know anyone who voted for him", we won't know those folks because they are Middle America - make that Sarah Palin's America.

This is shameful. Secret Service says the "Kill Him" threat at the Palin rally was completely fabricated by a reporter. Remind me again why news organizations are so distrusted??

6:29 Obviously you weren't paying attention. Candidates were allowed a brief follow-up. What you saw was Obama signalling to the moderator that he would have a brief follow up.

6:37

Actually, I kind of like the idea of some shops and development in the Dodger Stadium parking lot, especially if it allows me to buy Dodger Dogs on off days and without buying a ticket to the game.

There's no traffic problem. It's making better use of an idle piece of property. It provides income to the team so they can afford playeres like Furcal and Manny. It gives people who live downtown something to do. It would be place for civic center workers to spend lunchtime.

What's the problem?

7:08 AM no one is surprised by this.
This is Democrat business as usual. Whatever it takes to win. Make shit up, plant nooses on college campuses, vandalize your own car with swastikas, register Mickey Mouse to vote.
Democrats are cheaters at heart.

11:04 I agree. Republicans would never engage in dirty tricks. Watergate was a trick by the Democrats to ruin Nixon's campaign but it didn't work. All the wrongdoing that Repbulicans have every been charged with has been a set up by the Democrats. Ollie North and Dick Cheney are gods to me. They always take the moral high ground and would never place the politics of winning above decency and fair play.
