Reporter's Account of Threat on Obama Apparently a Fabrication
Turns out claims of chants of raid Sarah Palin supporters calling for the death of Barack Obama are allegedly the fabrication of the press.
Liberals scream in horror of "hate" against the Democratic nominee at Republican rallies and once again seem to be exaggerating.
Secret Service officials, following an extensive investigation found no evidence of, as reported in a Scranton, Pennsylvania newspaper, Palin supporters chanting "kill him" in reference to Obama. After numerous interviews, the only person at the event who is making the claim remains the "journalist" who wrote the story.
In the meantime however, tolerant liberals who never spread hate have some very nice things to say about Sarah Palin.

Canada just re-elected it's conservative government though they were expected to lose. However Canada's conservative leader Harper is sort of a Republican version of Obama.
Kind of like Bobby Jindal.

If the answer is that nobody used the words, "Kill him," I'll accept that.
But there is plenty of videotape of people being stirred up by McCain and Palin yelling things in anger that are just short of that. That is probably the reason why the two of them have backed off on using such anger-provoking tactics.
Their election is lost, but they have an opportunity to save the elections of other Republicans and to save their own dignity.

Unfortunately Michael, there is video that ran on Hardball of a moron yelling "kill him" which has been the culmination of a coordinated campaign to link Obama to Islamic terrorism. Terrorism through Bill Ayers and Islam through the repeated use of his middle name as a slur.
While it is true that due to background noise it is difficult to know for sure if the word "kill" was used, the argument about that singular threat is a detraction from the larger issue that the GOP has been stoking the fires against Obaama as "Un-American", "Muslim", "Arab", "Foreign born", "schooled in a Madrasa", "Palling around with Terrorists", "He doesn't believe in the same America" and polished off with "Who is Barack Obama"?
While some of this is right wing nuts, some has been spouted by Sarah Palin from the podium, as well as surrogates introducing them at rallies and neatly wrapped up in a GOP ad saying Obama "is friendly with terrorists who tried to kill Americans when it was politically convenient for him".
This is the same campaign that accused Obama of being "disrespectful" of McCain. WOW.
Why then, should we be surprised when people are screaming "Off with his head", "Terrorist" and "Treason" (The latter two punishable by death and the first would undoubtedly cause death) So you can play the semantic game as to whether or not one individual actually said the word "kill" but you can not deny the subtext that is being used as a line of attack against Obama.
I always thought McCain was better then that. The fall of John McCain is really painful to watch.

Jim raises a good point. Even with the attacks that take place on Mayorsam I haven't seen anything approaching the level of anger being fueled by McGrumpy and associates.
Republicans are so pissed that they screwed things up this bad. What they should have done is Impeach Bush a year ago and ran an election of changing from Bush, not allow the Republican name to be trashed.
Now as for the "apparent fabrication" that Mr. Higby is claiming, there is not a single news report that says it was a fabrication, not one but Mr. Alger correctly points out that is not the point.

Jim Alger mentions Hardball a national enquirer type show hosted by Chris Matthews who says he gets a tingle up his leg when he thinks of Obama.
In your brief political career Jim when you trashed Lyn Shaw, Greig Smith and Mitchell Englander did anyone get a tingle up their leg over you?
Nope noone did.

You would think that McCain would have learned a lesson after not properly vetting Sarah Moosekiller, and vetted Joe the Plumber before making him a national figure.
Turns out that he doesn't have a license and owes Ohio $1183 in back taxes.
All of McCain's Hail Mary passes are falling incomplete.

oIn sports it's called running up the score.
Obama may be expanding his campaign focus beyond the battleground states and increase the effort in what are now described as leaning Republican states such as North Dakota, Georgia, West Virginia, and Kentucky.

TV comics are making 7 times more jokes about McCain & Palin than about Obama & Biden.
This isn't because they have gotten together in David Letterman's den and formed a conspiracy. It's because all comedy is based on tragedy.
Palin writes her own comedy skits every time she speaks. McCain is a tragic figure. A man who was held in high regard, who is now bumbling his way through a presidental campaign.
And that, my friends, is what makes good theater.

Jim your argument reminds me of Kerri Dunn, the Claremont McKenna professor who painted swastikas on her car and filed a false hate crime report.
When it was proven she did it, she defended her actions by saying she was trying to raise awareness about real bigotry.

Brief political career? What do you think Jim is doing now? His career in politics is ongoing or haven't you been paying attention?

I wouldn't go so far as to call Hardball an Enquirer show - and Jim said they had video and the hateful rhetoric is well documented.
The point is McBush has been running a horrible and nasty campaign that has been getting dangerously close to, if not crossing, the line.

The funniest things I heard online today:
1. Joe the Plumber owes back taxes.
2. Jim Alger has a "career" in politics.

2:06 If Jim has a current political career, nobody knows about it .... including you, or you would have told us yourself. Unless this is a posting by Jim and there's a follow coming.

I heard Joe the Plumber wasn't even a registered voter. Is that true? I didn't bother to go look it up although I would like to know.
