Federal Court Rules Ohio In Violation of Federal Election Law
A federal judge ruled this evening that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner is breaking federal law by not giving county elections boards the chance to determine whether new voter registrations are fraudulent.
ACORN has been linked to cases of suspected voter fraud in multiple states. Below is a report from college news network Palestra.net. Student reporter, Shelby Holliday, talked to Lauren Long of Columbus, Ohio, who says she has been pressured by ACORN volunteers to register countless times.

As a career military officer I want to assure you that the military is overwhelmingly for McCain-Palin. You may see the occasional retired general officers taking the side of BO, but these are typically one, two, and three star officers that have an axe to grind because they were passed over for higher promotions or wish to smear those that they feel ended their careers (deservedly, probably). They may also be individuals trying to make a name for themselves politically (Wes Clark) or may be paid for their endorsement. Additionally, you see some veterans in the news bad-mouthing President Bush and other Republicans, but again, these are people that have left the service for various reasons (often incompatible with military service) and either have an axe to grind (unacceptable), have been paid for their endorsement (unacceptable), or just lost the will to serve due to the rigors of our current war efforts (sad but understandable). So - don't believe the news stories trying to claim that the military is supporting BO; that just ain't anywhere near the truth (big surprise, huh?).

Boss, there's a great clip out there of Obama making a major gaffe today or yesterday.
He tried to make an analogy between McCain and an "acorn that doesn't fall far from the tree."
As soon as he said "acorn" Obama just stopped mid-sentence, realizing that that was something he shouldn't have said.
It's a great clip if you can find it.

What is the voter guide's reasoning for voting No on Prop 2?
I'd like to know.

Question for Mayor Sam and Haiku:
Are you concerned about Jose Mailhandler, Valley Dip, Jack Hoff, Zuma Dogg, Anonymousa, Don Culo and Sierra Club Bart posting anonymous crap on this blog?

Prop 9 could mean higher costs in our prison system and more vendetta type considerations if victim families are given more opportunity to weigh in on sentencing.
As for 2/ animals, it's a good idea but could drive chicken growers out of the state.
Jon and Ken's logic isn't hard to follow -- no on everything that would raise taxes or fees. But they don't get that the same logic would apply to 9.

It's true about Higby's support from the military, even Hispanics of all ages. Who are more likely to serve than other groups. And are conservative in their values, like being pro-life.
To pander to this group McCain told Katie Kouric that one of the people he admires he'd most like to talk to is the guy who won a medal at the Olympics and is the son of illegal immigrants. He won't touch illegal immigration.

Gee, don't the initials BO also stand for (gasp!) BODY ODOR?
