Why Jamiel's Law Is So Important!

Remember the days when you could tell the difference between a Democratic Candidate and a Republican Candidate? Not when it comes down to illegal aliens. This illegal invasion is too hot for Obama or McCain to discuss! Why? Could it be that illegals are voting? Well it's up to us local folks to atleast say NO, to illegal alien gang bangers!

There are 14 days left to gather signatures to put Jamiel's Law on the March 3, 2009 ballot. Everyday we get Petitions!!!! The mailman brings them. UPS brings them. Even FedEx brings Petitions to the house. People even turn them in when they see us on the streets and always at Leimert Park.

In the beginning we were counting petitions everyday, but it started slowing us down. Now we have 4 volunteers that will count each one. We also have an owner who owns a copier business who volunteered to duplicate the petitions for us. Just in case something happens. We currently have tens of thousands turned in so far!! Sometimes I wish we could capture all this on camera because it's so overwhelming to see the support!

Last Saturday we were at the USC game and the Saturday before that there was another event at the Coliseum. Just those two events alone we had several thousand signatures. We even had a LAPD officer in uniform, come over to the table on Saturday and say, "Where can I sign?" After talking to him, turned out that he didn't live in the City of Los Angeles, but he sure was ready to sign!

One of the supporters at the Granada Hills event last weekend was given the microphone to announce that the Jamiel's Law Petitions were there. She told me they completed, "6" Petitions. That's six hundred right there. She also said it was just to many people and not enough volunteers. There group will be at the Coliseum helping this Saturday.

This is where you come in, if you want to sprint with us to the deadline. Here's a list of events we could use help at:

  • On October 18, 2008, there is a BIG event given in the City of Los Angeles called, "Taste of Soul". It's their 4th annual event and part of Crenshaw Boulevard will be closed. Last year this event had over 70,000 people and this year it's supposed to be even bigger.

We have a booth at this event, but we could use volunteers to set-up tables on the sidewalk by the event. There are so many entrances to this event and the more places to sign the Petition the better! The hours of the event are 10:00am - 5:00pm. We could REALLY use help!!

  • October 13, 2008, many business will be closed because of the holiday. We will be registering voters; and talking to the Homeless people about Jamiel's Law. We're going to talk about the Ballot Measures and there will be Republicans and Democratics speaking on different issues & live entertainment. Several victims of gun violence will speak too. It will be Downtown Los Angeles on San Julian, between 6th & 7th Street. The streets will be closed off for this event and it will be from Noon - 5:00pm. There are homeless people who have addresses at shelters and they want to participate in political issues, but oftentimes they are overlooked. If you want to help at this event, email me.

  • October 12th & 19th, 2008, we will be at West Angeles Cathedral again this Sunday and the next Sunday. Located at Crenshaw & Exposition Blvd. There are over 20,000 members there each Sunday. We had close to a thousand signatures last Sunday. There are 4 areas where people exit the church and we had our table at one. We could use help.

  • October 11, 2008, USC will be playing at the Coliseum again. Game starts at 12:30pm. We will be in front at the, "L.A. Coliseum" sign, from 10:00 - 5:00pm. Last week there were about 100,000 people there and we were only able to get several thousands. We could use more help.
If you live in the City of Los Angeles and you have not signed the Petition, why not make today the day! Download it @ http://www.jamielslaw.com/, sign it and mail it in.

October 24, 2008 is the deadline for the Petitions. We will post the number of Jamiel's Law Petitions turned in and we will turn the Petitions over to Walter Moore on October 23rd. Don't be left out!

It's going to take us local people to bring real change! Email me @ Vote4jamielslaw@live.com if you can help at any of these events!!
