Ron Kaye presents Bastille Day at City Hall

Los Angeles in 2008 has changed from Dragnet's Jack Webb vision of "Seven Suburbs in Search of a City" to today's "Neighborhoods Afraid of Density in Search of Honest Government".

Witness the crowd of activists and speakers who answer the call of former Daily News Editor Ron Kaye by coming together today on the south steps of City Hall.

"No Home Depot!!", "Cyclist Rights", "Friends of the Southwest Museum", "Jamiel's Law", "Save Our Schools" and lets not forget the "NIMBYS", were represented and united in calling for Angelinos to retake our city.

Speakers galore with the likes of KABC AM Talk Show Host Doug McIntyre, Green Dot's Steve Barr, "Sandra T of Liberty" and of course Ron Kaye, sharing the mike with the likes of Joe B., Jose Aguilar, John Walsh, and Lincoln Heights Hugo Pacheco plus others. And one would be remiss if one didn't mention Councilman Dennis Zine (with the scary "Z"-shield) and City Controller Laura Chick who spoke to the masses. One did see a certain "Historian LaBonge" briefly but maybe he had to preside over another "secret meeting".

LA Times scribes Steve Lopez and David Zahniser were able to escape the "death-like catacombs" of the "OLD GRAY LADY ON SPRING STREET...for sale", looking for the angle on today's festivities that will hopefully meet with readership. Zahniser was also seen dealing with the "spin" of one Matt Szabo.

"Meanwhile, Matt Szabo, a spokesman for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, said he was encouraged that participants mentioned schools and public safety. "It's good to see so many people supporting the centerpiece of the mayor's agenda," said Szabo."

The "bloggin community" of Mayor Sam was well-represented with Joe B., "The Bloggin Shaws", "Petra", and one "Valley Doll" manning the S.O.S. cupcake table. Zuma Dogg held court with many in the crowd. Joseph Mailander was out and about finding "freshness" in the turnout.

200+ people from all corners of the city braved a hot and humid noon-time sun to meet with like-minded Angelinos who simply want honest and community-based government return to Spring Street, something that should be a given in America but now has to become a noble crusade in Los Angeles.

Thanks to Ron Kaye for taking the lead, onwards.....................

Zahniser is a sell-out. Period. And not to be trusted. He was there because YOU people got together (thanks to Ron's leadership) and are starting to gather a critical mass.

I don't always agree with you people, but I appreciate what you've collectively started today.

Top Ten List:

Who deserves to be punched in th nose more than Matt Szabo?

I can't come up with single name. Anyone?

(note: I am not suggesting that any real harm be done to anyone. I'm just asking who deserves it more than Matt Z)

Did LaBonge invite anyone to his next CheeseFest?

Holy Cow, he had the Council make a $60,000 fee waiver for CheeseFest and then got himself a trip to France.

Does anyone smell what I smell??? Where is GIL Garcetti on things like this?

I've tempered the comment that I put up a few minutes ago. It should now read:

Who here thinks that the city has a worse enemy than Matt Szabo? Imagine him suggesting that he's glad that we're coming closer to the Mayor's views!!!

That's just skeevy.
That's just scuzzy.
That's just Matt Szabo.

The City's Worst Enemy

The pinche gavachos and republicans are the reason for all of L.A.'s problems. Read Don Quixote comments on Joe Mailander's blog, he will educate all you redneck gavachos from the trailer park. a la verga Don Q is el mas chingon. (Don Q. is the best)

I saw relampagos (lightning) this fin de semana (weekend), it was chingon (awesome), pince gavachos (whitey) were escared. jajajaj (hahahaha)

100 people, and nearly 10% of them were speakers! And the real spinners are the ones making excuses for the pitiful turnout. The Mayor's office doesn't have to say anything - why did Zazzbo bother to waste his time? The Bastille is apparently safe.

5:50am politican spinner. Ron Kaye is going to do this again but on a Saturday when more people can show up who don't work. It was a great turn out for the first time and wait until the next one. Matt Szabo is an idiot. He spins everything to the gang banger Mayor's side but we're not stupid Matt. You're nothing but a lapdog to the Mayor. Not a real man at all.

Not that anyone should act on it.

you don't understand who runs this city.

the mexicans and the jews.

it was a deal made long ago.

there is way too much money and power against you.

and we keep things enough that other people don't give a shit so they will never join you.

all we need is about 4000 old jewish and/or mexican ladies to vote for us.

we send them enough flyers and give them rides to vote because we can afford it.

there is nothing ron gaye, fat higby, walter dumb and moore dumber, zuma fag, joe drunkard, doof mcinteer or any of you clown whiteys can do.

so go watch tv.

The writer was obviously refering to Edward Headington, but who's counting. As for weird? Damn dude, go to the front of the line.

PS to Valley Doll: Never No Never respond to these creeps. They reek of toxicity.

Douches and Douche-ettes

Congrats on the self-important and self-congratulatory circle-jerk jack-###.
Once you gad-nats realize you have nuthin' in common you will turn your hate and vitriol on each other. I would pay to see that from my 3rd floor City Hall office. Oh yeah, I forgot, you are gonna kick me out. NOT!!

Let's see, paranoid white "get off my lawners" co-mingling with Raza luvers. This is a recipe for disaster, and fun for those of us who think you are worthless, which you are.

This is also great because once people hear about what you are about, which is nothing more that a whiney load of uneducated puke and bile eaters like Higby and his JC that educated buffett pants wearing loser, you will all be exposed as the losers you are.

Plus, you got Zumma Nut - already a politician playing all sides. One day he hates neighborhood councils and wants to disband them, next day he is the savior. Hey 5150, beg for change somewhere else MEDIA-HO.

One last thing, Hey Valley Twat you should be investigated for child abuse by protective services for exposing your daughter to these pedo-valley-losers.

Leave the dead alone -- I knew Evelle Younger after he retired back here to L A, after his stint as Atty General.

He'd backed Mike Woo for City Council so no one's perfect. But I have to say, Woo was a nice, accessible guy == too bad he's gone nutzo on the planning commission, pushing for high- density housing with NO parking using some Orwellian "logic" that even now, without mass transit on the westside, hillsides or much of the city, that will somehow reduce traffic.

(Mike, shut up with that!)

The Mayor should be worried. People around the City are beginning to see what a fraud his administration has been. He runs around the town (or other countries) trying to whore up some constant media coverage. He's got plenty of news releases (thanks Matt!) and no deliverables. His wife is asking why he has not bothered to retain a lawyer in his divorce case. His children constantly look embarrassed. His friends are backing away from the train wreck. Only the wicked "yes Antonio" ass lickers hang on. Lick lick lick, while Los Angeles burns.

Since when are white males "underdogs" in this society? We've made a big comeback since the early '90s, baby! RIP, Affirmative Action. We hardly even knew ye before we were able to convince everyone we'd been ripped off and get 'em to vote it into oblivion.

You think a few Jews and Messicans are going change any of that? Dream on! They already failed and turned to other goals, like making money (though not really all that much of it in the Messicans' case).
