Tony Villar presents "TROLL FOR DOUGH A-THON"!!
As the "DARK DAYS OF ZELL" spreads through the catacombs of the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET", glimmers of Herald Examiner style investigated journalism can still flicker within the pending "DEATH MONOLITH OF MSM BIAS JOURNALISM".
Witness this novel concept that debut today on the Times Web Site.
As Tony Villar begins his nine day, 11 fund raising events "TROLL FOR DOUGH A-THON", the Times "L.A. Now" comes up with the novel idea to report the ..............FACTS!!!, and Chismo behind the scenes of the various deal makers, err, fundraisers that will make up the "TROLL FOR DOUGH A-THON".
And who best to scribe the details in the days ahead?
Well if you guess reporter David "Z-Man" Zahniser, then you win the free subscription that someone else did not renew.
Excerpts on tonights "TROLL FOR DOUGH A-THON" venue.
Let's start with tonight's $1,000-per-contributor event in Koreatown, held at 6:30 p.m. at the J.J. Grand Hotel.
Here's David:
The fundraiser will be co-hosted by three Korean American business leaders, including Chang Y. Lee, president of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce, according to an invitation filed with the city’s Ethics Commission.
Perhaps the most noteworthy co-host is Alexander Hugh, chief executive of the real estate development company CIC Group –- a firm that received permission from City Hall last year to build a condominium hotel with 16- and 21-story towers at 7th Street and Hobart Boulevard.
Villaraigosa made the project a top priority and had representatives of his business team lobby for its passage.
But one planning department official warned that the project would be too large for the surrounding Koreatown neighborhood.
So credit the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET" for letting the "Z-Man" do what he does the best, report the facts, at least before the editors "cut and paste" their spin.

I don't like the guy, but what else is he going to do? Put out a tin cup or, like the Dogg, post on his website that he's starving and hungry and out of gas and cranky as hell at all the people who've promised him help but haven't delivered - so much as he needs hits on PayPal, he knows if he posts HOW, no one will contribute, anyway. BUT VOTE FOR ME FOR MAYOR, I CAN RUN THE CITY BETTER THAN I RUN MY LIFE. Don't think so.
It IS too bad that half of being a pol is fund-raising, scares off a lot of people. Like being an actor is less about acting than getting out there and begging for a job. How many good actors and pols are too proud to do that? But where does that leave them? Got a better system?

If 50 people run against Villar, it will cost him to fight us. We know we wont win, but we know he isnt going to win easily. That's the goal....get rid of him.

In defense of Zuma, how many of you can live from day to day earning no money, not receiving any support from the city, state of feds, but manages to eat, travel, and manages to make many of the people in the City aware of the scum that is working in our Council.
Others may be able to do this, but no one does. Zuma makes a job of it. He does work, every day, in every way...fighting against the corrupt members of our community.

What the hell does that first paragraph mean? Write simply with less jargon to get your point across.

You are doing Zahniser no favors by your constant rah rah of his work. A newsroom editor hears too much rah rah and thinks maybe the reporter is not being objective enough. If you like Z's reporting, subscribe to the paper. Let the paper know that's why you do.

8:56, the main and loudest "scum" in City Hall is zuma himself, and those he brought in behind him. His faves there are the other near-lowest forms of life, like Alarcon/ Reyes/ Hahn, just because they give him the time of day once in a while.
He can stop doing us a "favor" by showing up and wasting our taxpayer dollars making everyone sit through his self-promoting rants - and anyone like you low-class and ignorant enough to think he's doing good, we don't need, either.
As if L A didn't have a bad enough rep, after him, those straggling in do nothing to dispel LA's East Coast rep as the place where, outside of Hollywood, the motley, illiterate and slobbish go.

Well, 12:38, some think Zahniser is not vicious enough, like Alan Mittelstaedt. That man is mean, mean and is obviously getting out whatever demons lurk in him, by attacking every official in City Hall -- while, of course, he's a HUGE OBOT, buys up all the egomaniacal, untested drivel that guy spews forth. Witness L A is an Obot blog, where anyone who dares deviate from the "adoration of the Obama" is also viciously attacked.
Just shows that some "reporters" and bloggers find local politics an outlet for their inner problems. THIS blog's readers often show that, too.
