Gore Endorses Obama
Former Vice President Al Gore has received a Nobel Peace prize, starred in the Academy Award-winning documentary and also won the popular vote in the 2000 Presidential election. He is much beloved in the Democratic Party as well as others concerned about climate change and the environment. Today he endorsed the presumptive Democratic nominee, Barack Obama.

Yer kidding?
WOW!
I was just SURE he was going to endorse the Republican.
Got any more "no duh" headlines?
Dem candidate says we should spend more money on social services?
GOP candidate advocates defense spending as a priority?
Humans (mostly) walk upright?

Heres another one - Howard Dean will also endorse Obama, you can bet the farm on that one EH!

Anyone remember Global Warming?
Funny how that term became very INCONVENIENT when it was discovered the globe hasn't warmed in over 10 years and in fact may be cooling.
Now you only hear about Climate Change. A nice, low-risk catchall perfect for con-man Al Gore and his flock. Anything can be blamed on Climate Change - cold, hot, windy, rainy, cloudy, snowy, hurricaney, you name it!

Great revelation EH!
Zap your mouse and put it out of its memory !

While this hypocrite flies around in private jets and plays games with "energy credits" to look green, and maintaining an enormous home, his policies have resulted in using corn and grain for ethanol and a worldwide food shortage. Locally, prices have shot up like mad; used to get corn at 4/$100 just last year, now look at the price. Many nations have had to raise prices so high that people can barely buy tortillas or, in Pakistan, their flat breads. Thanks, Al.

Is this even newsworthy? He was a freaking Dem vice president and Dem presidential candidate.
why waste blog space?

I'm having a new bumper sticker printed.
"Re-erect Al Gore"
Like so many of the Nobel Price winners given medallions as PC political statements as opposed to for actual scientific or humanitarian advances, Al's reputation is "drooping" a bit.
But then, I've always believed the old maxim -- if you can't fake the heat, stay AWAY from preaching about global warming.

Yeah but is Howard Dean going to go out on a limb and claim Obama will win in NEBRASKA, AND MONTANA, AND CALIFORNIA, AND MAINE, AND COLORADO, AND KANSAS.
yeeeeeee-HAAAAAAH!
What a wonder the modern Democratic Party is.
They finally get a presidential candidate that sounds somewhat fresh and new, and who boasts of hope and change coming in the future as a result of his candidacy, and every day he has to woo and promote the backing and support of the tired old guard of losers and boring stiffs that made their own names temporarily famous by guaranteeing that the other party nearly always won the big race.
And then is he wins? Who's he going to fill up his cabinet and inner circle of advisors with?
Yup, you guessed it. The same pack of losers and their political offspring.
And that will make sure that things . . . CHANGE?

What was the name of Al Gore's son that was in some legal trouble a few years ago in South OC?

Hehe. Very funny. I get it. I should have qualified the post with "And in other Captain Obvious News, ..." '-)
On a less lighter note, it is interesting how language changes/evolves over time. Very good point Anon 1:25. I suppose climate change is all-inclusive of extreme weather changes/patterns where as global warming only assumes one particular aspect.
Lastly, Anon 1:51, Gore, Bono and others may have a larger carbon footprint than most but the hypocrisy charge doesn't really resonate. I would blame the current administration first before singling Gore out. He has my respect and admiration.
If you get a chance, go see the documentary King Corn. It's an eye opener and will give you a broader perspective on our food system. The peverse incentives in place and bad public policy outcomes are shocking. (www.kingcorn.net)

Yeah, sure thing, Ed. And guess what? Gore's home/homes suck up energy like Chinese coal-powered electric generating plants; Bush's home in Texas is more environmentally friendly.

Hey Ed -
Check out the wackfest going on this moment at Mailander's blog and at Witness LA. A big blog war is a brewing!
Anonymous said:
I'll bet "Ed" thinks Al Gore actually won the 2000 election, too - because of all the weak, wimpy supporters in Florida who didn't have the strength to push a perforated chad out of the hole in their ballot.
Anonymous said:
There's a wackfest at Mailander's blog because he mentioned the name of a certain wackjob. I predict he shuts the comments down soon.

Gore deserves another Academy Award for the acting job of staying out of it between Hillary and Obama. Like everyone doesn't know he hates the Clintons for their tepid and back-handedly unsupportive support when he ran in 2000.

Some Clinton supporters are booing the O at rallies -- this will be fun to watch play out.
Now that the O will be challenged and his wife's comments fair game, he's going to lose to the old guy and his petite, pretty wife Cindy -- one of those who could be on Wilhelmina Models "Hotties over 40" list.
