Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Wednesday

Barack Obama is one step closer to the Democratic nomination after a massive victory in the North Carolina primary and a near tie with Hillary Clinton in Indiana. With a significant lead in the popular vote and delegate count, will more Superdelegates begin to jump ship? Will Michael "MEAT" Trujillo be headed to an EDD office in LA? Stay tuned. By the way, go back in time about a year ago when Zuma Dogg wrote about Trujillo's hiring by the Clinton campaign. Read how wrong many of you were about this campaign's outcome.

A blogger who is sort of another type of KENNEDY REPUBLICAN uses the Janice Hahn gang pay-for-play scandal as yet another reason why Los Angeles is going into "the crapper."

The Silver Lake reservoir will no longer be used as a source of drinking water but will continue to serve as a fake lake. One blog asks why not use the space instead for much needed parkland and open space?

It used to be a person's home was their castle. Not anymore in Los Angeles. Busybody NIMBYs who would be better off fighting Home Depots and toxic waste dumps decide to jealously tell others how big your house could be. I've heard comments like "no one needs a house that big." Who the hell is anyone to decide that? In Los Angeles, it's impossible for anyone who is not a multi-millionaire to purchase a small estate, hence if you want to give up your backyard for a bigger family room or more bathrooms, it should be your right.

If you thought you had a chance with actress Scarlett Johansson you're now ever more wrong than you were before. The 23 year old actress is engaged to be married to actor Ryan Reynolds.

Death by a thousand cuts!

The Wicked Witch is DEAD!

How sweet it is!!!

This was the worst fought campaign in modern US history...starting with the utter incompetence of Patti Solis. Solis ran up a S74M debt before Shrillary even got to New Hampshire! One could compare Solis's grand scale fiscal irresponsibility and incompetence to another Mexican's infamous sqaundering of the ENTIRE multi-billion dollar treasure of the second largest city in the nation, Los Angeles...Tony Villar!

Hillary lost for one, and only one, reason...she played on the wrong team...Mexico! Her shameless pandering to Mexico turned my stomach inside out...I still can't forget the image of that ugle Messican kid in Texas...wearing the marriachi outfit with the sombrero! I can't forget her sitting with TONY V in some Mexican dive in East LA...eating tacos.

The Clintonistas turned on their Black AMERICAN base...and went with the illegals...NO PERSON IS ILLEGAL, she said.

Vaya con dios...Hillaria!

Adios, Muchacha!

So, THAT'S why Scarlett hasn't been returning my calls lately. What that little . . .

(Damn, and here I thought it was just that old restraining order business).

Oh well, on to Mariah Carey. At least SHE'S still available.

Something hit me this morning as I was watching the City Council meeting on Channel 35. I watch quite frequently, not all the time, so maybe I'm just missing something. But, I don't know that I have ever seen a vote by the city council that wasn't unanimous. Does anyone else see this as a problem? Come on, everybody can't agree on everything all the time...unless they are all in cahoots.

10:56, I've seen a few "absent" votes, but not very many "no" votes. Council reminds me of the old Soviet Politburo in reverse: no "nyet" votes.

Not counting Fla and Mich, two of the biggest and historically most important states, while giving such huge important to Vermont and Iowa, shows what a farce this election has been.

Polls show that moderate Dems will defect to McCain if Obama gets the nod so if he does, the Dems will lose the election for sure. She's far more moderate and less pandering, and he has shown inability to guage the public's mind by failing to realize how his pastor/ uncle came off to the average American, sounds no different from Osama bin Laden.

If the Dems pick this guy because of his race, as a novelty, they'll get worse than Cal has with their Hispanics, and those like Cedillo and Nunez are worse than the locals except for Reyes and Alarcon.

Scarlett Johanson is a self-proclaimed nympho, she won't stay married or monogamous.

10:56, you are absolutely correct. It is almost always unanimous. Sometimes some idiot on the council, knowing that the vote will be unanimous, will cast a decenting vote so the matter is approved and they can pander to a given audience.

I hope Obama wins so the blacks will run out of excuses for failing to advance in society.

No more Sharpton, Jesse Jackson or Farrakhan.

But there's no way Obama can beat McCain. The blacks will continue to be bitter and use THIS loss as another excuse.

Hillary lost because...

1.) The Media (tv, radio, print)
HATES her!!! (and her husband and her priggish daughter);

2.) And the Super Delegates HATE her!!!

The Clintons were the dirtiest politicians in history and made a boatload of enemies....the chickens came home to roost!

She will drop out soon...the look on her sleazy husband's face last night told the whole story!

Hallelujah!!!!!!!!

Council votes are typically unanimous because the more controversial stuff dies in committee. Most of these consent agenda things have been worked out and watered down among the staff. If anything was really going to get hung up or turn into a shootout, the movers would yank it back so fast, you'd never know it existed (or let it sit on the committee's backburner until time ran out).

They know they have all the votes before they bring 'em in. The more showy votes are saved for postering when they have visitors.

Trained monkeys could handle the "public" part of this job. That's why it never seems like anyone's paying attention. They're just formalities.

NEW HALF-CENT SALES TAX COMING TO NOVEMBER '08 BALLOT?:

Zuma Dogg says, "Hell Yeah!" He has heard that City Council is preparing to support a new half-cent sales tax for transportation projects and want to jam it on the November 2008 ballot. Maybe this is news everyone knows about already...otherwise, sorry Zuma Dogg's ZumaTimes has to be the one to let you know that they wanna put a half-cent sales tax on the November ballot, so that they can waste it on front-end loaded, patronage transportation projects that won't accomplish anything but enhancing the wallets of the people who get to siphon a percentage of this new tax.
