Blumenfeld's "Stacking the Room" Comes to Head Tonight

40th AD Democratic candidate Bob Blumenfeld got caught with his pants down around his knees trying to "stack the room" (his words) to gain the endorsement from two different Democratic organizations. In both instances the candidate failed and no endorsement was given.

Linda Sutton writing at Calitics captures the next site in the circus tour, the endorsement of the Stonewall Democratic Club. According to Sutton, the father of our favorite backstabbing nanny bachelor (you know who) bought at least 80 memberships (and hence votes) putting them on his credit card just before the deadline hit. The fun starts tonight.

In the meantime, Blumenfeld's opponent Stuart Waldman announced an endorsement that didn't require a credit card, that of Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo.

And then there is that circus o' fun known as the Sierra Club endorsement where the room isn't stacked. It's loaded.

Waldman's endorsement by Rocktard Delgadillo is your big scoop? And the claim he wasn't bought somehow is specious on the face of it, the peddler for ClearChannel/CBS, which owes the city tens of millions (really MORE but that's what their bought-boy Rocky negotiated them DOWN to, acting more in their interests than the city which employs him).

You diss Rocktard cred when it comes to H-D, but you'be become an apologist for Rocky and billboard company crooks ClearChannel/CBS against the citizens, lining up with Reyes, Perry and those who are going after those with a vested interest in the city and their own property.

What we're really seeing here, on a lot of levels, is your own class envy and wanting to "get even" with the "haves" as you see them.

But dissing Rocky's cred when it suits you and supporting him when it suits you, is what has made you an irrelevancy on the political "scene" along with the Dogg and the Mutt. Bitter class envy that would make even Obama's pastor blush.

Oh please. I despise Rocky. He's a bought and paid for worthless city attorney, but in Stuart's defense (and my god I will regret this so Higby best not give out IP addresses, he has to ask and then take every and all endorsements. Someone out there has no idea what Rocky is like and will vote for Stuart because of it. I doubt Clear Channel will be giving Stuart any billboards.

If Laurette Healey had to take the worst area planning commissioner in the history of the north valley (okay, he's in a 3-way tie)and get his endorsement (George Stavaris) then that equals out to the horridness of Rocky.

The Sierra Club endorsements are a joke, that's for sure. It's too hard to get a group of people to volunteer so what happens every election is the staff of the candidate (normally a paid member of Sierra, of course) gets on the nomination board and that's it. Anyone can get it. It's the same as DPSFV. If you're a Dem there, you get the endorsement regardless of your record. Therefore, it's a joke.

The problem with that is that the average person has no idea and just reads the campaign literature sent out by the campaign.

It's a sad state of affairs here.

Who is Alger?

I think I am smart enough to figure out that just because one of the writers posts a story on Mayor Sam it does not believe it is their opinion.

I am also curious where in this post did it say that the endorsement of Waldman by Delgadillo is a scoop? It's a sidebar.

I haven't read this blog before I am stunned by how few of the posters think.

Are they representative of our local governmental officials?
