Zuma Dogg Weekend Update/Open Thread
SPECIAL EVENT FEE WAIVER PROPOSAL: First of all, Zuma Dogg wants to declare the Led Zeppelin reunion a "Special Event" and waive any and all fees related to this reunion, in hopes of attracting the event to the Los Angeles Forum or local stadium. (Not at shady Staples center.) The fees should be waived due to the economic boost that this event will have on the city as a regional attraction. And if you don't do it, it is only because you are racist against Classic British rockers, and all who appreciate this art form that is better than any of Uncle Eli's snobby museum operas.
CM QUOTE OF THE DAY: Not to say that the only thing Tom LaBong has on his mind is football, but it appears the only thing Tom LaBong has on his mind is football. (He should be in that SNL skit, "Da Bears...Ditka! Da Bears, Ditka!) During a press conference about fixing traffic problems, the mulit-color, squiggly-line painting CM had THIS to add, "You got to have a plan, just like right now both coaches from USC and UCLA are devising a plan to win on Saturday. We want both teams to be successful. I'm pulling for USC." Glad to see the traffic situation is in able hands and empty heads.
ZD YouTube Holiday Countdown: Since ZD has become such hot topic this weekend, and some people may just becoming aware of the beloved public advocate, here are some of the most popular ZD videos of all time.
(first video is a Christmas carol from Zuma Dogg.)
ZUMA'S CLASSIC RADIO CALLS: Click here for podcast archives (including streaming audio) of ZD's KABC calls (during the good old Mr. K/Kevin James days) and some other fun things, including a jingle for Mayor Antonio.
ZUMATIMES.COM: Click here for archives to all ZD stories blogged on Mayor Sam and other ZD related articles and whatnot. (Check out "Newsletter" -- giant post of every ZD story from three months/quarter.) Plus, links to Council TV feeds/archives, custom search engines you can use, links to all the streaming radio show and all the links I like to use throughout the day, all in one place.
STORY ZD IS WATCHING:
Anonymous said:
It isn't about "sanctuary cities", this is just a smoke screen to go after Antonio's other baggage. Being the mayor of a sanctuary city just opens the door and makes him fair game.
There is an investigation going on that is going to sink Antonio. Even the L.A. Times knows about this and they have even backed away from their carte blanche support of Antonio. This investigation leads right back to Clinton 1 and Hillary's brother.
Vignali and Garcia were the major landowners for properties around Staples Center and L.A. Live. The Reps are just biding their time until both Hillary and Antonio are in their cross hairs.
Do some more digging Mayor Sam - everyone in the know is already talking about this.

This is new to MY radar, but looks like something to watch. Might end up seeing this one on Hannity and Combs. (It's Colmes, you idiot!)
STORY WATCH UPDATES: I might post some story updates (from some of the emails in my inbox I haven't gotten to) under the comment section of this thread. Meanwhile, post the stuff you think we need to be aware of that they won't be reporting about in the newspapers.
Good evening, everybody! My name is Zuma Dogg, and people say I am a waste of time, who has never changed a thing. So I better start fresh, and double up my efforts. Here's a starting point!
Love,
Zuma Dogg

Mayor Sam,
Your blog ranking just jumped from #20 to #6 this week. I think that's an all time high. What gives? Now that you seem to have the eyeballs this week, you should up your blogging efforts.

Zuma, I really like the new approach! It's fresh, bright, witty and intelligent! And vastly different than what you've been doing for the last year! Here's to your new start!

"Low GPA, underperforming high school graduate" is how zuma asks us to address him in future, as a sign of respect.
He feels the person who calls him a third-grade graduate is libeling him and misrepresenting his true capacity. So since we are talking about according one another mutual respect, I'm all for this.

jack, thanks...not sure why, but i'll take it! and try and stay on path. believe it or not, i like when i make you happy, because i know you will attack me, or complement me, based on the thread issue. you can give a guy a point 20%-30% of the time, even if you're bashing me the other 70%-80%.
12:29pm, believe it or not, I am much more comfortable with the new description, than saying, "3rd grade", cause at least it's accurate, even if you leave off the "some college education" part. Because at least it's true without lies.

Jack Hoff, I agree. Repeating anon innuendoes and allegations is a great new start. More of the rumor-mongering that even Joe M says the blog specializes in it seems to me.

(deleted) 1:10pm,
Sorry, bro. You can't post the same dumb-ass comment over and over on every thread. it's up on at least one other one. come up with some new material. it's rude blogging etiquette to copy and paste the same comment all over the place. and we all know you would never want to do that, loser. But I'll probably just delete all your dumb ass stuff if it's the same old, ZD lives in his van, routine.
Go through my posts and pick apart some of my comments. Otherwise, ta-ta, tragically-obsessed one.

this idiot is just trying to distract people from your rather astute post today.
me thinks it's someone who's desperately trying to cover for their elected city hall boss.

methinks 2:57 is Mayor Sam.
If it weren't for the blogging burros complementing each other, no one else would except a couple crackpots whose battle with the English language is even worse than Zuma and Red Spot's.

You are wrong. I'm the one idiot stupid enough to respond to you. ZD knows who I am, and I'm not affiliated with the blog.
If you don't dig ZD, that's your prerogative. But how much of an idiot are YOU for responding all day and wasting YOUR Sunday?
Doesn't speak too well of you that you're engaging in conversation with people who you (a) don't respect and (b) who you are sure aren't getting read by others.
Either you're nervous, or you believe that people are really reading.
Checkmate, dickweed.

If you think there's only one person thinking he wastes time and others' energy, then you wouldn't have anyone to worry about, would you? Who knows since he keeps deleting posts who's saying what.
Zuma has again revealed himself here again for those who might have been inclined to think there really was a freedom of speech issue involved, and not just ridding people of nuisance.
So the posters served that purpose.

4:54,
I think you have officially lost your mind. If you ever had one. What are you talking about and what is your point, already? You make no sense to me. Does anyone else know what this person is ranting about?

I feel like I've walked in on in playroom full of 5th graders who can't get along.

Zuma Dogg had a change in heart.
If the council charges the fee it will benefit the general fund. Council needs to set a president that is currently lacking. No waiver fee for this event or any other event. The only fee waivers should be one that allows the general public to attend an event without a cover charge.
I miss the old Zuma Dogg!

ZD:
Since you seem so obsessed with attracting attention to yourself, why don't you put on an event called "Is Zuma Dogg Smarter Than a 5th Grader" and ask for contributions that would be given to real charity?
Zuma Dogg said:
5:13pm, LOL! you passed the test ;)
5:14pm, HEEEEEEEEELL NO! I don't wanna be embarrassed by a bunch of 5th graders. But it depends: What district are the 5th graders from? (LOL! A JOKE P-E-O-P-L-E!)
Anonymous said:
5:13: You sure did "pass the test!":
"The council needs to set a president" is exactly the level of illiteracy demanded of zuma's loyal camp follower(s)"
Actually, Eric is under the impression that he's the President.

This should be a main thread on Mayor Sam!
Joe Avila, CD14 chief of staff was seen eating recently with a big city hall lobbyist. They were acting all friendly but talking hushed so I was interested. It sounded financial first then Avila blew all kinds of shit out about Huizar, about Alatorre and other people this blog would recognize. It was unbelievable! Avila does not likeeeeee his bosseeeeee!
It's hard to say exactly what this was about fo-sho, but I heard plenty and my guess is Avila is going to take care of some deal or some vote without Huizar knowing and it may have been related to Alatorre. Avila told the lobbyist "I'll square it away."
The best part - after Avila strutted out the lobbyist picked up the phone and said six words in his phone with a smile like the cat who ate the canary. He laughed at Avila and finished his wine.
So who got played here? Huizar? Avila? Alatorre? All. The lobbyist is the puppetmaster and Huizar has a serious Avila problem in the cupboard.
Then like ice cream on top of pie, a week later Avila was sneaking away from City Hall in the middle of the day in a car all chummy with Richard Alatorre the same guy he just blew all kinds of stuff about with a lobbyist the week before.
Sources say Alatorre is making nice with Avila to get projects he's "consulting" through that Huizar does no want. Of course none of Alatorre's "registered" clients are located in district 14, but what they hey,
What's the game? Avila thinks he is a player but doesn't know when he's getting played. Who knows what Avila thinks he is cooking up, but it won't be good for Huizar.

6:53 PM,
Thanks for the correction: Precedent.
I'm glad Eric is the president!
Anonymous said:
You say, seeing Avila driving off with Alatorre was "like ice cream on top of pie."
But you omit the most important part:
What kind of pie?
If the Mayor's spies find it even important enough to follow Zuma to Cleveland to discover what KIND of pie he's eating (apple!) then don't you think we need to know the kind of pie Avila and Alattore had at lunch? It's these kinds of things that not only reveal character, but tell is if you're telling the truth. Truth is in the details.

I am not one of the regular Zuma bashers. I am a fairly well-known citizen who knows how much good Zuma Dogg is doing for us. Don't play your hate on him. lol
I don't think Zuma is waiting for the Mayor to fall. I think he is just BRUTALLY honest and that just scares the shit out of some people. When the Mayor does something good - Zuma will be there to praise him and when he F's up, Zuma will be there to call him out and how the hell can anyone argue with that. Seriously..
Anonymous said:
Zuma is not the only one wishing that the midget mayor fails. He deserves to fail.
Anonymous said:
Oh, stop, Red Spot or Mayor Sam!
You're blowing your hand. No
well-known upstanding citizen would need such a court jester to make his points, he'd know he's a disgrace to upstanding citizens anywhere.
Anonymous said:
Other poster makes a good point: the Daily News article was about how the Board of Supes until recently, for the last 15 years, only allowed public comment from the same person once every three months.
Which is why we haven't heard recent boasts from zuma dogg about how much niw New B F Zev loves his ideas, and has even used them for the 311 call city hall campaign.
Because Zuma has been shut out totally.
They're afraid of going after Zev, Gloria and the rest directly -- ever notice, how they're left out of the bashing over pay raises, the drivers as well as cars, etc.?
None of this is an endorsement of the self-promoting tactics of dogg.
Read the article, people, instead of taking zuma's word that he's at the center of it all, as usual.

You go Zuma!!! You have hit a nerve with the AV pinners on here. They love to attack you when you bring up something corrupt that we all know the Mayor is into. Let's see which reporters have the guts to investigate. Like good pr if they're talking about you either good or bad you're somebody.
