Damn that midget mexican mayor, he left all those leaves under the tree. The mayor get his leaf blower and clean up the mess. He is letting the are look like Tijuana.

Reyes and Huizar are probably involved in the shady tree leaf scandal as well. We know those L.A. politicos are always involved in shady deals. Was this one of those so called million trees to planted in the area. Dis you notice how the leaves did not even stay on the tree. Damn mexican politicans !!!!!

You are so correct, the midget mayor needs to get his leaf blower and clean up the leaves. Those mexican politicos are always doing something shady.

And the mayor is responsible for this tree leaf dropping debacle.

I hate dropping debacles and midget mayors, but I love Blogging Burros. Great post Blogging Burros do you have link to the fishwrap story regarding the dropping debacle? I love links to fishwraps like L.A. Slimes. You guys are AWESOME, AWESOME, MAYBE EVEN SUPER AWESOME. Savvy?

And don't let those third floor spinsters post there spinning web of innuendo and rumor on this blog!!!!

HEY! What happened to this post from yesterday? Did the mayor's team pressure someone to take it down?

Joe Avila, CD14 chief of staff was seen eating recently with a big city hall lobbyist. They were acting all friendly but talking hushed so I was interested. It sounded financial first then Avila blew all kinds of shit out about Huizar, about Alatorre and other people this blog would reconize. It was unbelievable! Avila does not likeeeeee his bosseeeeee!

It's hard to say exactly what this was about fo-sho, but I heard plenty and my guess is Avila is going to take care of some deal or some vote without Huizar knowing and it may have been related to Alatorre. Avila told the lobbyist "I'll square it away."

The best part - after Avila strutted out the lobbyist picked up the phone and said six words in his phone with a smile like the cat who ate the canary. He laughed at Avila and finished his wine.

So who got played here? Huizar? Avila? Alatorre? All. The lobbyist is the puppetmaster and Huizar has a serious Avila problem in the cupboard.

Then like ice cream on top of pie, a week later Avila was sneaking away from City Hall in the middle of the day in a car all chummy with Richard Alatorre the same guy he just blew all kinds of stuff about with a lobbyist the week before.

Sources say Alatorre is making nice with Avila to get projects he's "consulting" through that Huizar does no want. Of course none of Alatorre's "registered" clients are located in district 14, but what they hey,

What's the game? Avila thinks he is a player but doesn't know when he's getting played. Who knows what Avila thinks he is cooking up, but it won't be good for Huizar.

Mayor Sam for laughs you should allow people to write their own personal for Villaraigosa ad to get a woman. These are hysterical in Downtown News. Here's just 2

http://downtownnews.com/articles/2007/12/03/news/news02.txt

In the Market for Love: Attractive single Latino mayor is on the market for the first time since the '80s! Are you the one, or one of the ones? Intelligent, career-minded man, 53, but looks 35. Knows much of Los Angeles; former 14th District resident now has gorgeous house, perfect for entertaining, in Hancock Park. Likes: yes men, long walks in Sacramento, 1,000 new cops, "Newsweek" cover photo shoots, guest appearances on the "George Lopez Show" and the coming telephone tax. Dislikes: Media trolls (unless you're a cutie pie!), prying questions, people with cell phone cameras who bug you while shoe shopping in Valley malls. Are we two of a perfect pair? Interested applicants should send photo. Must be willing to sign pre-nup!

Come Smile With Me: Dentally blessed mayor looking for someone to share smiles with through good times and bad. Not afraid of commitment: Only two (serious) relationships in last 20 years. Man with perfectly shaped incisors, beautiful bicuspids and magnificent molars seeks same. Hobbies: brushing, whitening, flossing, grinning, regular check-ups. Turn-offs: gingivitis, plaque, cavities and root canals. Let's make our 32 teeth into 64! Please, no smokers or people with braces

Isn't it obvious? Joe Avila is proving to the powers that be that he should be the next "anointed one" to take Huizar's council seat, once Huizar runs for either Assembly OR MAYOR!!!!!

Personally, I don't think Mr. Avila has the emotional toughness or stamina to handle the heat. He's wound pretty tight.

If he keeps playing with Alatorre, he will get burned.

Richard is hotter than a $2.00 pistol; he is radioactive.

Two different investigations are going on about his dealings and failure to register clients. Look to him to be the "poster boy" for the Ethics Commission when they finally decide to enfore the laws they keep pushing the Council to adopt.

Alatorre's antenna is out of tune; he just keeps doing it, despite the article in the Times and the fact that lots of people are watching. Closely.

Look for him to take a fall.

It's not a bad idea to remind people that Eagle Rock can look like small town anytown America, give him a break. 10:58, you're as tiresome as Red Spot's spelling and grammatical disasters and zuma dogg's megalomania and certainty that he's the voice of prophets Deming, Tony Robbins and the reincarnation of Sun Tzu.

Loved how Joel Stein showed up at City Council yesterday just to advocate cutting out that wasteful upto 5 min/day public comment period allowed -- said, correctly, nothing important ever came out of that, and the half hour a day or so that is sometimes wasted by it, by the same gadflies, is not the best use of the Council's time.

It doesn't serve the fool commenters, either: He said "If Zuma Dogg hasn't gotten a rap recording contract out of it yet, it just shows it's a total waste of time" on all side.

Got a hearty endorsement from Alaracon and smiles from City Attorney Dion, who spends half his life babysitting those gadflies as they make their brilliant comments.

He said if he succeeds in getting that dumb (mis)interpretation of the Brown Act dropped, he deserves a street named after him.

"Joel Stein Way" is the way to go.

Make it a one-way outside City Hall for the gadflies about to enter.

OMG! Thanks for the tip on the joel stein video. HILARIOUS. Not a ZD slam, either. Just a slam on public comment. Meanwhile, Joel, as much as I enjoyed being mentioned in your comment...

ARE YOU THE BIGGEST IDIOT IN AMERICA?

I think the answer is yes!

You show up to give public comment to say public comment is a waste of time. (So that's kinda funny.)

But you say, "I think you have gone too far with this genreal comment thing? I know that no good comes from letting the public speakWhat good has ever come from (public comment)? Has Zuma Dogg gotten a rap career? If that can't be accomplished, I wonder if this has any point. So I don't know how government works, but can we vote to eliminate general comment. If that can be hasn't been accomplished, I expect to be back here in a couple weeks and you they should make a plaque or name a street after me."

And Garcetti added, "Richard Alarcon likes the way you think."

WHY ALARcon? Do you like communist dicatorships better where people don't have first amendment rights?

Hey alarCON...don't you feel you need to hear what you community has to say? Don't you wanna hear from the people you represent?

Guess not. Just take the money and run.

Anyway Joel, thanks for embarrassing yourself in front of the whole city. You didn't even know public comment is required by law. (You don't think they would have one second of public comment if they weren't required.)

What a fucking jackass.

zuma, legal genius:

The Brown Act does not require that gadflies and timewasters be allotted any amount of time they want. It doesn't designate any amount at all.

That's up to each municipality. In towns where people are decent and don't abuse the prive\ilege, there are allowances for upto 3 mins. per person on a topic.

But places like Long Beach, where one or two people talked and talked (not idiotically or rudely like you and matt, either), they've had to cut it down to 3 mins. a day max.

If a Council decides to limit that time to 1 minute, that's legal too.

Plus in this day of internet and email, there are plenty of other ways for constituents to communicate besides holding their busy reps and staff hostage to ranting fools.

When time wasting, self-promoting self-styled clowns abuse the public comment privilege and it has to be cut down, everyone suffers.

The Council has been very generous in their patience, not wanting to pass a restriction that will hurt others. Because of you and a couple of other fools.

But they can, they might, and maybe they should -- except for people who go to City Hall with a personal issue which genuinely needs attention in a timely fashion. Anyone who abuses that privilege should be cuts.

No more free City, taxpayer funded tv for the desperate career- promotions of zuma dogg~ Hooray!

Don't worry, I'll be putting the pedal to the metal in January, just in time for election season. And I'll be making sure everyone in the city is aware of my endorsements.

AND LUCKILY...some folks will be getting behind me with a little ad budget to make sure the endorsements get even more of a voice than ZD has previously had, on his own.

So looks like you'll have to sit there powerless and hope you are on the right side of ZD's naughty or nice endorsement list. (laugh all you want...but i already know some of the smart pols in town ARE actually concerned about the "ZD factor".

HEY ZUMA,

You know you can stay at my place in CD14 whenever you need a place; 10 minutes to downtown on the 110, or Metro. Minutes away, inexpensive, and free if you are some of the 5% who never pay and are fined or forced to get off.

Ten minutes from Chinatown, City Center, and all the way to Long Beach, if you want.

Looks like this Metro "Subway" may work after all. By the way, visit the Southwest Musuem on the way to downtown, or the next time you visit Old Pasadena; Victor Griegos old stomping ground, stop at the Southwest Musuem. Victor is working in CD 14 for Huizar but Old Pasadena is still there.

The insecure little pussy (Dave Elliott), who fashions himself as some sort of celebrity - (I guess he is - in the context of being a freak), goes through the threads around here and, whether the posts are his or someone else's, deletes any that he deems to be critical of him or his behavior.

This is the same ignoramus with a third grade education, who whines like a little three year old girl when the public body that he is boring to death with self serving rants and attention attracting sing-song, off key stupidity, reminds him that he is off message.

In short, Higby, aka Mayor Sam, has lowered the level of discussion around here by degrees of magnitude, simply by giving him the keys.

The guy is an attention whore, and cannot stand the criticism; witness the three straight posts by him. If that isn't ADD, I don't know what is.

He has no life, other than the blogs, and sticking his smelly nose into other peoples' business. He lives in a van, begs for food, gas money, coffee money and bus fare. God knows when he last took a shower, and he eschews the use of deodorant, or even washing his smelly clothes and ski cap. Just stand next to him in Council and you could faint, worse, get caught in an elevator with him.

If you read this post, it is only because he is sleeping, or didn't see it yet, because he will delete it for sure as soon as he sees it.

But, don't worry; I've copied it and I'll post it several times today on several other threads, just to occupy the fool and keep him from creating other mischief.

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah to all of you sane folks.

Besides, if you look at other current councilmember's staff there are many that have gone on and moved up the chain.

What about sara mclennan who started as padilla’s administrative assistant and is now deputy chief to rosendal?

what about at the national level? What about patti doyle, hillary clinton ’s campaign manager who started as hilllary’s scheduler?

I hear jose got rid of a couple of bad seeds because they werent producing--former staffers who are bitter and keep blogging away here making up stuff..... maybe they should be looking for work instead of blogging

It's LAURA McLennan, not Sara - and she was Legislative Deputy amd Legislative Director to Padilla for SEVEN YEARS, and is now Deputy Chief to Rosendahl.

CD11 web site- "A City Hall veteran, Laura worked for over 7 years with former Council President Alex Padilla, where she served as his Legislative Director for the 7th Council District, in the San Fernando Valley. Prior to working in City Hall, Laura interned in U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein’s San Diego district office. When a paid position became available in the Senator’s West Los Angeles, Laura jumped at it, and she served the Senator as a Field Representative for nearly 3 years."

Even if she was an administrative assistant at one time, she earned policy experience with 7 years being a legislative deputy before becoming a chief-level staffer.

She was not a penis promotion, she earned it and that's why people respect her, unlike Francine Godoy.

Laura was not promoted from scheduler to deputy chief in one move after one year.

The others mentioned also had years and years and years of legislative and policy experience before they were put in positions of authority and leadership.

It's great to "come up through the ranks" and people do it, but that takes years and lots of hard work on your feet not your knees.

There is no such thing as an overnight success in politics unless there's something shady going on.

This move shows more about Huizar than anyone. What a public embarrassment for them all.

Sure sounds personal, who would do all that research if they weren't "personally" angry about something..

Come on...... Tells us how Jose hurt you. Did you get fired from CD14? Is this you Ricardo or maybe Frank? Damn... why do you care so much? I havent heard any complaints, at least no more than when Alatore, Pacheco, or Antonio were in office.

It has to be personal!!!! You need to go to a doctor and ask him to work out problem with letting go. you probably had trouble letting go of you blanky and bottle as a child too?
